As if last week wasn't enough pain and suffering, this week has just doubled it. Multiple times did we upload the file to YouTube, in its native AVI state, only to have a file with sound, yet no video, returned to us. Then, we decided to convert the file from AVI to WMV, but, again, we only got back a file of sound, no video. And, as we sat defeated and drained, none other than new recruit Mike Sylvester walked in and showed us how to fix it. Without him, we are lost. So, everyone thank Mike for making this week's video possible and be sure to head past the post break for the usual.

Looks like it was our file, as we tried to upload to GT again, eventually attempting to force it on other online video hosting services. Sorry, but we won't have a video for you this week, it would seem.To say we are not amused would be an understatement, as we've sat waiting for hours for our video to compress at Game Trailers. Instead, we'll offer up our coverage sans video, for the moment. The second it goes live, we'll update the post.

This week's Virtual Console releases sees the inclusion of two high-profile Nintendo titles, along with a TurboGrafx16 game we're not familiar with. But, when looking at the two Nintendo titles mentioned, that couldn't matter any less. We know it'll be hard to pry us away from our Wii today, as we get knee-deep in some most excellent gaming.Today's VC releases are: Paper Mario (Nintendo 64, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points) Balloon Fight (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) Silent Debuggers (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points) Who plans on giving what a download? If you're on the fence, be sure to stop back later for our video wrap-up of today's releases.[Via Joystiq]

Due to technical difficulties, we won't be able to provide you with your usual video wrap-up. We're quite sorry, but offer up our usual coverage aside from video after the break in the hopes that it'll keep you from ripping us apart limb from limb happy. Well, happy enough to not kill us.

We knew the little dude was coming to the VC, but it took him a little longer than we initially expected. It's OK though, because we have a feeling we won't be doing much game playing this week and will instead spend the majority of our time glued to our monitors, what with there being a certain gaming show going on this week.Today's Virtual Console update included: Mach Rider (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Yoshi (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) Air "Zonk" (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii points) And, as you've become accustomed to, stop back later for our VC Monday Madness video coverage.

This week sees the release of a game many fans have been dying to get their hands on: Super Mario Bros. 2. Along with that game, comes a title we're pretty fond of in Ecco: Tides of Time and a game we could do without in DRAGON Spirit. Check out the video above and be sure to head past the post break for the rest of the coverage.

This week the Virtual Console gets a couple of good titles, which is good considering that there aren't many retail games for Wii owners to get their hands on. Blame the upcoming holiday, as it arrives mid-week and messes up our delicate game release cycle.Today's Virtual Console update includes: Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Ecco: The Tides of Time (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Dragon Spirit (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points) Anyone going to download some, or all, of these? If you're on the fence, be sure to stop by later for our VC Monday Madness video wrap-up.

It's been another week where Nintendo honors their promise and gives us more Virtual Console games to play. Even though we may not find the offerings to be that great, we know some of you are inclined to disagree. Well, there's no better place to do it than here in this post! So, head past the break for some more info and let the comments fly!

  • VC Monday Madness: A day that celebrates sports

This is probably one of the worst weeks for the Virtual Console we've seen yet. Unless you're a sports junkie, there won't be much here for your to enjoy (except the usual TG16 shoot-em-up, which has become the norm and might not actually be something you can enjoy). Sad, we know, but such is the world. It is a cruel and harsh place, which rarely forgives and often takes from you when you least expect it. NES Open Tournament Golf (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) World Sports Competition (TurboGrafx-16, 1-5 players, 600 Wii Points) Bloody Wolf (TurboGrafx-16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points) Be sure to stop back later for our video coverage of these games in action. You never know, our video might just help you with your fence-sitting.

It feels good to come back from our break, revitalized and energized, to bring you the coverage you desire. We picture a giant smile on your collective faces, glad that we took the time to make this video and provide you with the coverage we do. Of course, the reality probably is that you could care less and are laughing at how ridiculous I sound. Not to mention how bad I am at Lode Runner.

This week's Virtual Console update brings three different titles, mostly of the sequel variety. Many of you Sega supporters will remember these games and probably be jumping for joy at their inclusion in Nintendo's Channel. But, for the TurboGrafx16 fanboys out there, this is a sad Monday that will never be forgotten. Lode Runner (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii points) Golden Axe II (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii points) And we're coming back from hiatus on our video wrap ups this week, so be sure to come back later for our usual coverage.

Of course, as with our VC Monday Madness coverage of the Virtual Console releases every week, we also offer some images and text past the post break, if you're one who has an issue with GT or videos in general.

Another Monday arrives, along with complaints of having to return to work and those 4-8 cups of coffee most need just to get started. Well, maybe that's just us (we're not morning people!), but regardless of our complaints this morning, we all have something to look forward to: new games! Well, not new, but newly available for download via the Wii's Virtual Console service. This week's offerings ionclude: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Blazing Lazers (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points) Let us know what you're looking forward to, or hating, in the comments. There's lots of ninja action going on in the Virtual Console today and unless you're swift and silent, you might miss these games as they go live in little over an hour. One of today's offerings is even a game we feel a bit responsible for, as we told of our desire to see the game on Nintendo's digital download service. Today's available games are: Ninja Gaiden (1 player, NES, 500 Wii Points) Ninja Spirit (1-2 players, Turbografx16, 600 Wii Points) Pac-Man (1-2 players, NES, 500 Wii Points) Are you going to get any of these? If you're on the fence, why not come back later for our video wrap-up and decide then!

Here we are, with another week of releases and another week of our VC Monday Madness coverage. We were concerned when we did not see our usual press release sitting in our inbox this morning, concerning the week's release of Virtual Console titles. We look forward to those every Monday, so we did some checking around the internet and with our contacts at the Big N. Nothing, we could not find anything on which VC games we would be receiving. Then, 12pm rolls around and we turn on our Wii to see these three titles staring back at us: Final Fight (1player, SNES, 800 Wii points) Ordyne (1 - 2 players, TurboGrafx16, 600 Wii points) Mighty Bomb Jack (1 player, NES, 500 Wii Points) Looks like the cause for alarm was unwarranted. We now have three new titles to rock on the VC. Make sure you come back later for our video wrap-up of this week's Virtual Console games.
