There is certainly a substantial amount of hype built around LG's latest stab at the QWERTY phone market for Verizon Wireless -- the VX10000 Voyager -- and it isn't without merit. For starters, the feature-packed candybar sports a 2.81 inch exterior touchscreen paired with second display of equal size and a full keyboard on the inside. In the media department, the handset features a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, video camera, expandable memory via microSD up to 8GB, and VCAST services of both the Music and TV varieties. Do the features stack up in Verizon's favor? Does the Voyager live up to the hype or will it fall short of expectations? Continue reading to find out.

Here they are, the product waifs, which can only mean one thing: the LG VX10000 QWERTY Voyager and LG VX8800, AKA Venus, slider are official. The dual-display Venus (2-inch main on top and 1.49-inch haptic VibeTouch touchscreen below for navigation) is up and dancing on Verizon this morning for immediate availability. Same $200 fee after online discount and 2 years of your life inked in blood that we already saw on pre-order. The Voyager with its 2.8-inch VibeTouch, external touchscreen (and 2.8-inch internal) is still on track for its 21st launch for $300 plus 2 year contract. Don't worry, we'll remind you come Wednesday.[Via LG]Read -- LG Voyager on Verizon Read -- LG Venus on Verizon

  • LG's VX10000 and VX8800 touchscreen spyshots?

Here you go spyshot fans: purported pics of LG's new VX10000 and VX8800 handsets which recently cleared FCC approval. They're definitely grainy pics of something with all the naughty bits blocked to protect the innocent. Of course, the VX10000 is fascinating as the supposed successor to LG's VX9900 QWERTY beast. Perhaps more interesting to the masses, however, is that VX8800 slider up there which by all accounts would be the successor to LG's (and Verizon's) VX8550. Just look at that display: big (and thick), and presumably touch-sensitive all baked onto a slider. Shazam!%Gallery-6891%[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

  • Is this the LG VX10000 for Verizon?

Kinda seems like this could be a predictable 'shop of a VX9900 showing evolutionary changes to the keyboard and screen -- but be that as it may, this picture is getting shown around on HowardForums as depicting the interior of the VX10000 recently outed by the FCC. The screen looks lovely and we think they keyboard looks a little nicer, but other than that, there's not much that can be said until we have an exterior shot (at the very least). We'd also heard rumors that the VX10000 would be the long-rumored CDMA Prada, so clearly that ain't the case if this picture turns out to be legit.[Via Boy Genius Report]

  • What is the LG VX10000?

We're going to go ahead and venture that this VX10000 (yes, as in ten thousand) from LG that just hit the FCC is bound for Verizon, thanks to the "VX" prefix. That's about all we can gather, though. Pay no mind to the shape of the phone in the diagram here -- it's a generic picture that LG uses to identify the ID label for every single one of its phones that it submits with the FCC. If anything, we suppose it could be a successor to the VX9900; LG ran plumb out of numbers and was forced into five-digit territory. Thoughts?
