Weezer's latest stab at relevance is an island in Fortnite that features songs from their new record, The Black Album. Players can visit "Weezer World" by jumping into the game's Minecraft-style Creative mode. The island itself is modelled after a theme park, with Weezer's massive logo at the entrance and playable mini-games scattered throughout.

Beverly Hills ... that's where I want to be (gimme, gimme), living in -- wait, not really. Next week's holiday Rock Band Weekly update has some catchiness, but it's short on cheer. There's a new track pack from Weezer, featuring two songs from the band's latest album, Raditude. There's also songs from Limp Bizkit, The Offspring and Yellowcard. One last reminder: Rock Band Unplugged DLC is on hiatus until further notice. Check out pricing and track details for the console releases after the break.

No, that isn't your high school gym teacher (pictured right), that's Weezer front man Rivers Cuomo and he's joining with Nintendo to help launch the upcoming Pop-centric music title, Band Hero. Tomorrow, November 1, beginning at 11AM (EDT) at the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza, players will have a chance to play both the Nintendo Wii and DS versions of the game before lining up for an exclusive autograph session with the singer from 3PM to 4PM. Need more incentive to join the party? The first fifty players in line will walk away with a pre-release copy of the game to call their own and other random giveaways. Finally, you yourself can interrupt your sister's Taylor Swift karaoke sessions in homage to Kanye West's VMA performance. We call that, "emergent gameplay." [Image Credit]

When Tapulous released Christmas with Weezer [iTunes link] for the iPhone and iPod touch last week, I was pretty excited, as it combined three of my favorite things: Weezer, Christmas music and Tap Tap Revenge. The tough economic climate, stresses over moving two days before I leave for Macworld 2009 and a hectic schedule have given me less holiday cheer than usual, but I'm happy to say, Christmas with Weezer is helping to turn that around.Christmas with Weezer takes Tap Tap Revenge's addictive format and adds to it some Christmas cheer. Not only do Rivers and company perform a bevy of Christmas classics, the interface is all wrapped up for Christmas. The Kids Mode is great for anyone starting out with TTR or for kids who want to get in on the fun. Christmas with Weezer also features the multi-tap and tap and hold game elements introduced in the recently released, Tap Tap Dance (iTunes link).Check out the gallery below. Christmas with Weezer is $4.99 and available in the App Store.%Gallery-39242%

When you log into Second Life next, be sure to check the date -- is it the 13th of June already? Time to wish Norris Shepherd a happy Rez-Day! Shepherd has only been in Second Life for one fun-filled year, and has spent even less time than that as a Second Life musician. He got his start in the Second Life music scene a couple of months in, watching the likes of Capos Calderwood, Skinny Shepherd and TallGuy Kidd, then venturing to a variety of open mics; he went from being awed to being awesome in Second Life in essentially a single gig, for which he rented the gear. Some 130 shows later, he's still out there, wowing the crowds and buying new gear.

We were going to start this post off with something about how half-Japanese girls do it to us every time, but considering many people never listened to Weezer's sophomore album Pinkerton, or the song El Scorcho, we were a little afraid of being called racists ('cause that's always fun). And yes, Rock Band Weekly is normally a Monday post, but because of the President's Day holiday, where we give thanks and praise to The Master, the DLC announcement came from Harmonix a bit early.Individual Songs Sex Type Thing - Stone Temple Pilots (160 MS points/ $2) El Scorcho - Weezer (160 MS points/ $2) Why Do You Love Me - Garbage (160 MS Points / $2) Videos for this week's Rock Band DLC can be found after the break. And make sure to check out what STP's Scott Weiland looked like before heroin. Just remember, these songs will be available next Tuesday for the Xbox 360 and Thursday for the PS3.

Or: Radiohead and let the Pretenders know they're none the Weezer.Clearly, it's a worthless struggle to bring the bands providing this week's downloadable Rock Band content together in one place. Not even Harmonix dared to assemble a catch-all track pack, only offering the three new tunes individually on the Xbox Live Marketplace and -- beginning Thursday -- the PlayStation Network.Individual songs My Iron Lung -- Radiohead (160 MS Points / $2) Buddy Holly -- Weezer (160 MS points / $2) Brass in Pocket -- The Pretenders *Cover* (160 MS Points / $2) You'll find videos of the songs after the break, along with our lingering curiosity as to what content next week will bring, if any.
