Blizzard decided to ring in the weekend with a short and sweet list of hotfixes for patch 5.2. Today's list is pretty short, with just a few class tweaks and a couple of additional adjustments to raid bosses and items. Combat rogues may want to take a look at the adjustment made to Blade Flurry, however. Rygarius Classes Mage Tier-15 Fire/Frost 4-piece set bonus should now properly increase Frostbolt's chance to activate Fingers of Frost effect. Priest Tier-15 Discipline/Holy 4-piece set bonus should summon a Golden Apparition that now heals for the correct amount and can activate Divine Aegis. Rogue Combat Blade Flurry now has a range of 8 yards, up from 5 yards, and will only hit targets that are within the Rogue's line-of-sight. Raids, Dungeons and Scenarios Ji-Kun's Feed Young ability should now be slightly easier to intercept. To the Skies!: Fixed an issue where the Hail of Arrows debuff not being removed after defeating Beastmaster Horaki. Items Enchant Weapon - Glorious Tyranny can no longer be used on other player's weapons and will cause bind-on-equipped items to become soulbound. Lightning-Imbued Chalice now has a greatly increased chance to generate Infinite Power. source

Another round of hotfixes for patch 5.2 has just been released on the official blog. It's a pretty short list, by and large involving changes for several classes. Before you get too panicked, most of the class changes simply involve tweaks to T15 set bonuses rather than direct class changes. Shaman with a penchant for healing, however, should be pretty happy with this round of fixes. The shaman spells and abilities Chain Heal, Healing Rain, and Earthliving Weapon now all heal for 20% more. T15 Brewmaster monk 2-piece should now correctly increase Stagger by 12%. Oondasta's health has been reduced by 50%. This does not, however, make him any less terrifying or deadly. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

Just when you thought it was over, another round of hotfixes have been released. Today's list of fixes is pretty short and sweet, with only one small class related bug fix. The rest of the tweaks by and large involve the Isle of Thunder and the Throne of Thunder raid. And for those diligently working on stage 3 daily quests out there on the Isle, one of these changes should be a welcome relief. Statue pieces for the Crumbled Chamberlain now do not despawn when looted, which means the hours of trying to beat other players to those pesky gear icons are officially over. Rejoice! Because everyone loves a laser-slingin' dinosaur, Oondasta now respawns much more frequently. Melee, you can cease fearing the snail. Gastropods in the Throne of Thunder should now favor attackers at range. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

Some like them hot, and the latest round of hotfixes has just hit the Warcraft official blog page, this time around there's a few changes to bosses that may well relate to the inordinate amount of time it took guilds to take down Dark Animus in the Throne of Thunder World First race, as well as some changes made to PvP weapons to even out the 2/2 upgraded elite conquest gear and this season's gear. Here are the hotfix highlights: Season 13 Tyrannical weapons had their item levels increased to ilevel 498, up from ilevel 493, to match Season 12 Elite weapons. Season 13 Malevolent Honor gear now gives more Stamina, making them comparable to Season 12 counterparts. Eye of the Storm: Horde teams are now being awarded the proper amount of victory points when holding 3 towers. Dark Animus Dark Animus will now use its abilities at more consistent intervals. Interrupting Jolt now deals less damage on 10/25-player Heroic mode. Explosive Slam now deals significantly less damage on 10-player Heroic mode. Fixed an issue where Matter Swap could sometimes teleport players beneath the world. Hit the break for the full hotfix post!

Fresh off the official Warcraft blog are yet another round of hotfixes. For those wondering why we're seeing so many of these with this patch in particular, it's been mentioned by several developers and blues that 5.2 is in fact a gigantic patch, perhaps even the largest patch ever. It's certainly one of the largest raids we've ever seen, at any rate -- and there are a few more tweaks to the Throne of Thunder raid today. Also included in the mix are a smattering of class changes, and the fixing of some very pesky quest bugs that should make leveling players happier. Players participating in Lunk's Adventure: Rendari's Weakness should be delighted to note that Iron Summit Guards are now properly gonna shake their body and do the conga. Mages, we're very sorry to report that both Living Bomb and Nether Tempest are now dealing 70% of their damage when used against other players instead of 100%. Drinking a potion while under the effects of Stealth or Invisibility no longer causes potions to go on permanent cooldown. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

You didn't think the hotfixes were over with, did you? Luckily, today's list of hotfixes is short and sweet, with minimal adjustments being made to classes. In fact, there's just a few short notes this time around that by and large involve fixing things that hadn't been addressed just yet. But also included to the relief of anyone that's ever had to wait for Tsulong to fly away is an important change to bonus roll decision time. Rygarius Classes Monk Chi Wave should now correctly bounce between targets that are in range. Creatures Oondasta should no longer drop Terrorful Weave for Discipline and Holy Priests, and Girdle of Dimorphodontics should no longer drop for Mages and Warlocks. Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios The time for players to decide if they want to use a bonus roll has been increased to 3 minutes. PvP Conquest quartermasters should now be properly stocked with PvP rings, amulets, and trinkets. Professions Thunderforges on the Isle of Thunder can now also function as a normal anvil and forge. Archaeology Mantid archeology items should now correctly award a Mantid Amber Sliver when turned in. source

Another set of hotfixes has been released for patch 5.2 -- but this time, there's some interesting additions to the hotfixes we've grown accustomed to. While we've still got the usual round of class changes, dungeon and raid tweaks, and bug fixes, Blizzard has posted a couple of threads on the official forums that further explain some of the changes that have been made. Frankly, it's pretty cool to see some of the thoughts that go into all these hotfixes and tweaks. There have been several changes made to Throne of Thunder, particularly for 10-player raid groups. Trinkets that use the RPPM system have been adjusted to protect against unlucky streaks of no procs. Several classes have had changes in the form of buffs and nerfs. Read on for the full list of hotfixes, including links to pertinent threads discussing the changes.

Another round of hotfixes has been posted on the official WoW blog. The latest set of hotfixes addresses some issues with various quests, items, and bosses from both the latest raid and a few old faces. Also included are a couple of changes to the world boss Oondasta, and the assorted mobs wandering the fabled Isle of Giants. Zandalari Dinomancers on the Isle of Giants now have a much lower chance to drop the four raptor pets obtained on the Isle. Players visiting a different realm are no longer eligible to receive loot from Oondasta or Nalak. Meanwhile in Ahn'Qiraj, the Prophet Skeram and any illusions he creates during the encounter will no longer drop loot or provide reputation when killed. Don't panic -- this is a temporary change to address an issue with the encounter. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

  • Short-lived bug gives windwalker monks huge damage numbers

    03.11.2013

Hotfixes have already been rolled out to correct this, as noted in the latest hotfix blog, but windwalker monks enjoyed a brief, rather confusing, night of crazy DPS. It should be noted that deliberate use of this bug would most likely have been considered exploiting, hence why WoW Insider isn't in the habit of reporting these things until they've been dealt with. The bug was ostensibly called by combining two abilities together: Rushing Jade Wind and Spinning Crane Kick. The former gives the latter a multiplier, which is supposed to be around 30%, but appears to have had at least a couple of extra zeros accidentally added to the end. As can be seen from the header image, windwalkers were posting incredibly high DPS when using these two abilities together. This wasn't an isolated issue, there were various reports on the forums, as well as videos. Another example can be seen to the right, from Wowmartiean, in the raid finder. WoW Insider readers will no doubt recall the previous bug with retribution paladins, where Censure had a similar modifier problem, resulting, again, in some disproportionately high numbers. As we mentioned in our recent patch 5.2 PvP round-up, windwalkers were due some buffs, but this seemed a step too far! Blizzard agreed, and for clarity, this is no longer in the game. It remains to be seen whether any action will be taken against anyone who is considered to have exploited this bug, but it has appeared and been hotfixed so quickly that, with any luck, it will not have had any major impact. As Blizzard noted on twitter, they ran rolling restarts to repair this within a very short time of its occurrence, and PvP Developer Brian Holinka noted that a fix was underway shortly earlier.

Blizzard has been pretty swift with the hotfixes this time around -- hot on the heels of the last group of hotfixes comes another batch. These hotfixes address a few class issues, but focus primarily on raids and quests. Included are a few welcome fixes for players experiencing lockbox drama or buggy farms. Players can no longer roll need on Ghost Iron and Elementium Lockboxes -- they've been changed to greed roll only. The issue causing Occupied Soil on Sunsong Ranch to remain occupied even after Vermin had been removed has been fixed. Rejoice! Primal Diamond and Serpent's Heart no longer require an anvil to craft. Hotfixes! Hotfixes! Get them while they're hot... fixes! Well, actually, given that these were implemented on March 5, but posted late last night, they're probably lukewarm fixes by now. None of these are game-changers, more technical bug-fixes as you'd expect from the first round of fixes after a bug, but there are still some interesting changes. Sunreaver Beacon and Kirin Tor Beacon no longer share the same cooldown. Shadowy Apparitions will no longer pursue targets that are actively stealthed Sleep effects should now break properly when a pet is attacked. (Pet Battles) Sunsong Ranch Work orders to plant a crop no longer award gold. Players should no longersee or hear chat from other player's NPCs during the introduction to the Isle of Thunder. This last one is particularly interesting given that these hotfixes were already applied in the EU, as Draztal confirms, my Alliance shaman was privy to what seemed like a private chat between the Horde Scout Captain and whoever she was flying over to the Sunreaver ships. Something about Lor'themar. And the one about shadowy apparitions chasing stealthed targets made us chuckle. There are also some further class changes, and a couple of other bits and bobs, so do hit the break for the full list.

    01.16.2013

Another round of hotfixes has been released according to the official site. The list this time around is pretty small, with just a few minor changes being addressed. However, the issue of hozen rares is a welcome resolution as far as I'm concerned. Especially if it means The Yowler will finally get out of that place he's managed to wedge himself into in the middle of his room on my realm. Daxxarri January 14 Creatures Various Hozen rare spawns can now be slain appropriately. Kor'kron Flak Cannons will now appropriately deal damage to Alliance players over Dominance Point. Attacking the cannon will no longer flag players for PvP. Quests Fixed an issue where some players were unable obtain the quest "The Bell Speaks" to progress in the Shieldwall quest chain. Achievement credit for "In Search of Harmony" will be corrected in a future patch. Bug Fixes Players will no longer sometimes become stuck in the Battle for Gilneas. source Mists of Pandaria is here! The level cap has been raised to 90, many players have returned to Azeroth, and pet battles are taking the world by storm. 12.11.2012

It's the end of the day, which for now means another pile of hotfixes to sift through. Today's list of hotfixes, posted on the official blog, is actually pretty small in comparison to the other lengthy lists from earlier this week. But that doesn't mean there aren't some significant changes in the mix, particularly for mages and warriors. Mages, when a Fire Blast modified by the Glyph of Fire Blast is used to detonate a Frost Bomb, it now deals 50% less damage. I'm assuming the fire and frost cancel each other out or some other mage-type thing. Warriors, your Taste for Blood has been quelled a bit -- it now stacks just once versus other players rather than three times. Mogu enemies in the Ruins of Ogudei are once again carrying stuff around with them that you can happily loot off their corpses. Read on for the relatively short list of hotfixes.

Blizzard's Customer Support Team has announced via Twitter that maintenance downtime has been extended to 1 p.m. PST for both World of Warcraft and Diablo 3. #WoW and #D3 #Maintenance has been extended until 1PM PST. We'll provide additional updates as they become available to us. - BlizzardCS (@BlizzardCS) December 11, 2012 As always, WoW Insider will keep readers abreast of any new updates to the situation, but if you're at a loss for what to do while the servers are down, Daniel Whitcomb put together this morning's Last Week In WoW, in which he predicted some downtime, as well as putting together the best of this week's news in one handy article. If that's not enough reading for you, WoW Insider has just put out a call for writers, and, of course, posted last night about the latest set of hotfixes. Mists of Pandaria is here! 12.10.2012

On the heels of the latest mini-patch to 5.1.0a is another list of hotfixes from the official blog. Today's round of hotfixes may have very little in the way of class tweaks, but there's plenty of quest, Pet Battle, profession, and item changes to be found, as well as some bug fixes involving both classes and quests. The Cinder Kitten now has more health, which is far more appropriate for an armored critter. Alchemists that have deleted their Zen Alchemist Stone can now obtain and complete the quest Strange Spherical Stone to get their hands on a new one. Various hozen rare spawns are now less likely to evade and despawn, to the relief of rare hunters everywhere. Normal and heroic mode raid bosses now grant 40 valor points each upon defeat. • Patch 5.1.0a official patch notes

    12.10.2012

Blizzard Community Manager Nethaera posted on the US forums today documenting a recent update to WoW, bringing the game up to patch 5.1.0a. Blizzard Notes for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria patch 5.1 can be found here. Patch 5.1 hotfixes can be found here. Bug Fixes Pet Battle Abilities that use a shoot or missile animation will now properly display their visual effect. Disabling Loss of Control in the Interface menu will now also disable the red cooldown swipes on the action bar in addition to the notification in the center of the screen. Loss of Control Alerts can be disabled in the Game Menu by going to Interface > Combat > and un-checking Loss of Control Alerts. When Loss of Control Alerts are enabled, the red cooldown swipes will not be displayed for abilities that were already on cooldown and in situations where that cooldown will last longer than the loss of control. Night will now fall at the proper time on all realms. Objective icons in Scenarios will no longer incorrectly persist until the Scenario is complete. Fixed an issue that could cause crashes during Pet Battles. Mac Fixed an issue that could cause a crash to occur during in-game cinematics in OSX v.10.6 source The most interesting element of these notes to me is the updates to the loss of control notifications. Those red cooldown swipes, which didn't seem to be present in the PTR, were seriously irritating to those of the playerbase who didn't care for them, and couldn't previously be switched off. It will be interesting to see whether these fast patches are a sign of things to come, or simply a renaming of hotfixes! Mists of Pandaria is here! The level cap has been raised to 90, many players have returned to Azeroth, and pet battles are taking the world by storm. • Patch 5.1: PvP trinkets hotfixed

    by

    12.07.2012

Blizzard Community Manager Daxxarri posted yesterday about a hotfix Blizzard's team are implementing to PvP trinkets, to help address the current issues with burst damage. As we've reported, patch 5.1 is fraught with PvP problems, and this is hopefully the first in line of fixes Blizzard will make. While it's great that changes are being made, the question remains: will this be enough? Naturally, Blizzard's team have access to numbers that the rest of us don't ever see, but it seems like a tall order to repair the current issues by simply changing a few trinkets. Daxxarri does go on to say that there is a risk that this changes means players simply won't die, but this seems a little unlikely. A greater risk seems to be another point Daxxarri addresses, being the potential this offers for the use of PvE trinkets in PvP. Particularly for burst-reliant comps such as anything with 3 DPS players, resilience is not a huge consideration, as a lot of the time their plan is to end the match quickly with very high up-front damage, scoring repeated kills. It seems possible that PvE trinkets with very high on-use bonuses could reappear, but Daxxarri promises that Blizzard will continue to monitor the situation. Hit the break for Daxxarri's full post.

More hotfixes are in store for patch 5.1, it seems -- and a fresh list was just posted to the official blog. Please note that some hotfixes may require a realm restart before going into effect -- and that we have rolling restarts scheduled for tomorrow morning. Included with today's rounds are the usual handful of bug fixes, but we've also got some adjustments for Pet Battles and Brawler's Guild tweaks as well. All eligible players can now complete the quest It Is A Mystery, which makes things far less mysterious, but far less frustrating as well. The Crow on Darkmoon Island can now be caputured, and cannot be caged for sale. Picking up Meatball's Strange Energy in the Brawler's arena will now benefit the Brawler's nearby pet as well. It turns out framerates were merely a setback, and the issue affecting system performance in Silvermoon City has been resolved. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

    12.01.2012

Several new hotfixes have been added to patch 5.1, and it's quite the lengthy list this time around. Along with several class tweaks, the latest round of hotfixes also addresses a variety of bugs that cropped up with the latest patch. And for those wondering about soloing old raid bosses for pets ... well that just got a little bit easier, too. Viscidus, The Twin Emperors, C'thun, Al'ar, and the Reliquary of Souls have all been tweaked to be a little more friendly for solo farmers. The Blingtron 4000 Gift Package now has a better chance of dropping valuable stuff, and now has a bonus chance to drop an additional sellable item, too. Alliance soldiers in the Krasarang Wilds are no longer confused about which side they're on. And here I thought we were mixing it up with defectors! Mounted players can now interact with the portals at the faction daily quest hubs in Krasarang Wilds. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

Well that was quick. Hot on the heels of the first round of hotfixes for patch 5.1 is a second set released yesterday on the official website. The majority of the hotfixes this time around address small bugs with the latest patch, although there are a couple of class changes in the mix as well. Both Stormlash Totem and Skull Banner have had their radius increased to 40 yards, up from 30. Quest targets on Bilgewater Beach in Krasarang Wilds will no longer flag you for PvP. An issue causing some players to be friendly with the denizens of the Black Temple has now been fixed. Sorry guys, no demon friends for you! And to the relief and delight of all, Great Cranes will now drop Pristine Jet Crownfeathers more frequently. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.
