A big batch of new hotfixes has just been released for patch 4.3. Some of the more notable ones include: The Mass Regeneration effect from the druid tier 13 bonus now heals 25% of the healing received by the druid from Frenzied Regeneration, down from 50%. The tooltip will be updated in a later patch. Damage done by Forgotten Ones, Void Bolt AoE, and Searing Blood has been reduced on 25-person heroic difficulty. Yor'sahj's health has been reduced by 10% on 25 person heroic difficulty. The health pools for Burning Tendon, Corrupted Blood, Corruption, and Hideous Amalgamation have been reduced by 6% to 11% for 25-person raids on both normal and heroic difficulty. Damage done by Deathwing's Elementium Blast, Corrupted Blood, and Blistering Heat have been lowered on Raid Finder difficulty. Blizzard makes it clear on Twitter that several of the raid hotfixes will not be active until after tomorrow's realm maintenance. So don't expect to see them if you're currently engaged in the encounters. The full list after the break.

You want some hotfixes, you say? Well, you're in luck! Blizzard has released one heck of a large list of hotfixes this evening, dealing with everything form class abilities to very big pains like the Yor'sahj encounter in the Raid Finder. Some of the highlights include: Yor'sahj had its Raid Finder HP for slimes, mana voids, and forgotten ones nerfed by 20%. Ball damage is now splitting correctly on Zon'ozz in the Raid Finder. Echo of Baine trash is hitting for less. Deep Wounds is working better (more correctly) for warriors. Lots and lots of changes after the break.

The launch of patch 4.3 has been smooth overall, but there's one major exception: The Dungeon Finder has developed a case of narcolepsy. If you've been in the queue for any of the new Hour of Twilight dungeons tonight, chances are good you've noticed the system suffering from crashes with extreme frequency. Good news: There's a fix in the works, and we're likely to see it tonight. Cross your fingers. Bashiok - LFD Tool Down? There's a known issue causing the LFG servers to crash, which is kicking people out of queue. A hotfix is already in production and we expect will be implemented this evening. There's also an issue that's causing long queue times, and again a hotfix is in progress. source Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

  • Ol' Grumpy and the Goblet of Firelands adjustments

Hello. I'm Ol' Grumpy. You may remember me from such posts as Ol' Grumpy's first week with Patch 4.1, Ol' Grumpy's guide to player reeducation, or perhaps Ol' Grumpy's guide to outdated content and you. As my name suggests, I am a hilariously old and crotchety curmudgeon who probably has forgotten more about hating things than you've ever known. Seriously, I hate everything, especially the things I enjoy. It's why I'm called Ol' Grumpy and not Ol' Smiley. So, this time I've been called back into service to talk about the recent Firelands adjustments, or as I like to call them, significant nerfs. Quite frankly, my take on these is a bit more nuanced than the last time, so I sadly won't get to grump around as much as I prefer. Frankly, there are several key differences between this series of nerfs and the ones to T11 content that make the situation a little less cut-and-dried. This time, both normal and heroic content is being nerfed. Last time, normal mode fights were nerfed across the board, but heroic content was left unchanged so that people who wanted to experience it at the original challenge level could do so. This is a decision I lauded at the time, and I find the different implementation this time kind of baffling. We got half as much time with tier 12 as we did tier 11 before the changes. Now, to some degree this isn't an entirely fair comparison because we also had to level from 80 to 85 before we got a chance to do tier 11, and in addition there were 13 total fights in tier 11 content plus a bonus heroic only encounter. Tier 12 has eight, seven in Firelands and one in Baradin Hold that barely even counts. But it still seems very early to nerf this content. These are some serious nerfs to content that is still relevant. Unlike the T11 changes, which took place as T12 dropped, these fights are still the fights that we're all doing. There's nothing to replace them, no place for the players who have done it before the nerfs to go if they want to stay on the cutting edge of content. This is the cutting edge, and it's now between 15% and 25% less sharp. All of this adds up to my being not exactly angry or disappointed but very much confused by the reasoning for these changes. And it makes me wonder: Did fewer people clear Firelands than Blizzard was expecting? What's happening with this raid tier, and just how close are we to patch 4.3? Probably closer than I expected a week ago.

Another day, another round of hotfixes for patch 4.2. Today's list is just a series of small tweaks to various mobs, quests and creatures scattered around Azeroth, as well as an adjustment to wine distribution. Wait ... what? Bottle of Dalaran Red, Bottle of Aged Dalaran Red, Cask of Dalaran Red, and Cask of Aged Dalaran Red should no longer award the player the next tier of Dalaran Red when placed on the ground. Alliance and Horde players are able to teleport to Anachronos as many times as they wish even after abandoning and re-accepting the quest A Legendary Engagement. Players will no longer go invisible in Uldum during the quest Premature Explosionation. If players log out or disconnect during the cutscene, they will return to Khartut's Tomb instead of being ported to a nearby graveyard. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

A number of hotfixes have been (or will be) applied to live realms today. One is a particularly noteworthy PVE retribution paladin fix intended to bring ret DPS up to match the competition in the Firelands, as paladin DPS has fallen a bit behind in this raid tier. Paladins will be receiving a +40% damage boost to Censure, the stacking DOT associated with Seal of Truth. The other hotfixes are aimed at quest-related bugs that may have been interfering with players' solo progression. The explanation for the retribution buff and the details of these quest hotfixes can both be found after the break below.

    07.26.2011

We've got another round of hotfixes this evening, courtesy of the official WoW blog. Today's list is a little longer and contains the usual bout of Firelands hotfixes. Also included however, are a few class tweaks as well as some adjustments to Molten Front dailies and quests. For elemental shaman, the Shamanism passive now causes Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Lava Burst spells to gain an additional 32% benefit from spellpower, up from 20%. Hey, warriors -- Deep Wounds should no longer ignore damage modifiers on a target. Players who die and release before a boss is killed should now receive valor and justice points. However, players who release at the moment the boss dies and are at the loading screen will become locked to the dungeon but won't receive any currency for the kill. Blizzard's working to address this. In the Molten Front, players who are hated or hostile with the Steamwheedle Cartel can still turn in the quest Well Armed to Ricket. Bloodsail Admirals, rejoice! Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

    07.19.2011

We've got another round of hotfixes posted to the official Warcraft blog. Tonight's list is a relatively short one. Included are ever-present tweaks and fixes to the Firelands raid, as well as a couple of class changes for death knights and druids. For death knights, Improved Death Strike now provides 40/80/120% bonus damage and a 10/20/30% critical strike bonus, up from 30/60/90% and 3/6/9% respectively. Hey, druids! Moonfire will now generate Lunar Energy when crossing Solar to Lunar on the Eclipse bar. All bosses in The Bastion of Twilight, Blackwing Descent, and Throne of the Four Winds once again award valor points in all raid sizes and difficulties. 10-player bosses award 35 valor points, and 25-player bosses award 45. This change does not, however, apply to Argaloth over in Baradin Hold. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

Hotfixes for patch 4.2 have been released at a steady pace ever since the patch's release. Though patch 4.2's launch was impressively smooth, it wasn't without its hiccups. Luckily. Blizzard is pretty quick to get errors addressed and fixed as soon as possible, which is why these hotfixes keep coming out at a regular rate. From tweaks to various class mechanics to the encounters in the Firelands raid, the amount of information regarding these hotfixes has been pretty substantial. Rather than leave you to sift through weeks worth of hotfix posts, we've collected all hotfix information for patch 4.2 in one handy spot. Another night, another round of hotfixes for patch 4.2. Today's list, posted to the official Warcraft blog, is pretty short -- but it includes some tweaks to heroic encounters in the new Firelands raid. Also included are a welcome fix to those players doing dailies out in the Molten Front and a tweak for those seeking the new legendary weapon. In Firelands, Rhyolith's Concussive Stomp damage has been increased on heroic difficulty. In the heroic Ragnaros encounter, Molten Elemental move speed has been decreased by 15% on heroic difficulty -- but the adjustment will require a realm restart to take effect. Players working on the Peaked Interest quest should no longer experience issues when the Fire Hawk Carry Egg Ping spell is cast. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

Blizzard just updated patch 4.2 with some hotfixes for July 12. Most notably, the Ragnaros encounter at the end of the Firelands raid went through many changes due to the high-end guilds' finally making it to his chamber. Ragnaros' enrage timer was increased, portions of his platform that were being used to dodge mechanics were changed, and the extra phase on heroic difficulty was, hopefully, fixed. The Molten Front and the Regrowth daily questing areas were also hotfixed, with wounded Hyjal defenders now appearing wounded and those pesky Windcallers now appearing a bit more quickly (if you chose the Druids of the Talons). Hit the jump for the full notes.

A weekend just doesn't feel like a proper weekend without some hotfixes and tweaks to lead it in. Today, we've got a smallish list of new hotfixes for patch 4.2 from the official Warcraft blog. Most of these hotfixes address issues with the Firelands raid; however, there is one notable change that ought to have hunters breathing a sign of relief. Combat pets should no longer aggro creatures while the player is mounted. Hunters, it's safe to ride alongside your pet again. Fluffy will stop finding angry new friends to play with. During the Rhyolith encounter, multiple volcanoes casting Eruption will now create separate stacks. Crushing a volcano will cause its stacks of Eruption to fade shortly after it's crushed. Riplimb's Lost Collar was apparently really, really lost. The item should now properly drop from select creatures. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

Blizzard's at it again -- or rather, Zarhym is, as another round of patch 4.2 hotfixes goes up this evening over at the official blog. Included with the list are a host of fixes and tweaks to the Firelands raid as well as the dailies surrounding it. For those looking to begin heroic modes, start your engines! For those simply wanting to complete that blasted daily with the Wounded Hyjal Defenders, you may now breathe a sigh of relief. In the Firelands, heroic difficulty has been activated and is accessible in all regions. Let the world firsts begin! Eternal Embers are now epic quality. There are now many more Wounded Hyjal Defenders in the Molten Front. While I'm sure they are flattered by all the attention, you guys can stop fighting over them now. Characters should no longer disconnect or receive movement enforcement errors when certain spells, abilities, or item effects are used while on moving transports. I'm not sure what this means, but if it stops people from disconnecting on Beth'tilac, I'm all for it. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

Blizzard has released the details of another round of patch 4.2 hotfixes this evening, and this batch is both particularly large and particularly interesting. The developers have disabled the ability to activate the heroic modes of Firelands bosses until next week's maintenance. Normally, you needed to kill a boss on its non-heroic mode first to be able to access its hard mode when your raid lockout reset, but there was a workaround: If you faction-transferred your character, it saved your boss kill history but not your raid ID. Stars, a high-end raiding guild, used that to its advantage this patch; they cleared Firelands on its normal difficulty, faction-transferred en masse, and then began clearing it again, this time banging away at its hard modes. Why? To get a leg up on the competition, of course. Players watching the situation were waiting for an official response from Blizzard, assuming that a lack of response would be the developers condoning the faction transfer practice -- but I think this decision clears up the situation pretty well. It was an oversight on the developers' part that hopefully will not happen again. The other hotfixes today include numerous class changes, Firelands balance tweaks, and an assortment of bug fixes. You can find them all past the cut below.

Firelands trash keeps respawning on top of you? Can't figure out why you're not Skull Bashing? Keep getting stuck in combat long after the last enemy is killed? Wondering what the deal is with those damnable Cauldrons of Battle that run out of flasks too quickly and fail to despawn? You're not alone. Blizzard has been keeping track of all these issues (and more) and wound up correcting a number of them in today's series of hotfixes. Some highlights: Skull Bash should actually work in Firelands now. Shannox's trash now respawns at 4-hour intervals, up from 2 hours. Cauldrons no longer lose charges when they're clicked by someone who already has a Flask of Battle. That's just a small taste -- a whole slew of changes will soon be hitting servers, if they're not there already. The full list of hotfixes is available after the break.

Is anyone else kind of blown away by the lack of major bugs with today's big 4.2 patch? I know I am. Regardless of how smoothly things seem to be going, we do have some hotfixes today, fresh from the official World of Warcraft blog. Included are a few tweaks to the Elemental Bonds quest chain that starts in Hyjal and a tweak to Blackwing Descent: In the Elemental Bonds quest chain, Aggra's bubble during the Elemental Bonds: Desire event is now a lot bigger and a lot more sparkly. In additional, players should be able to turn in the quest Into Constant Earth to Therazane regardless of what stage of Deepholm progression they happen to be in. In Blackwing Descent, Atramedes' Sonar Pulses should properly move toward raid members when spawned underneath him. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

Today's notes include some class changes, including a few tweaks to the priest class, some new voices and a new achievement. Also included is the unnerfing of fun, for those who enjoy dancing in combat: Players are once again free to dance in combat. Be sure to equip your dancing shoes before you fight, okay? Vanessa VanCleef now has a "sweet, sweet voice" for all her dialogue in heroic Deadmines. The achievement "Bear-ly Made It" has been added for those that save all four prisoners in Zul'Aman on heroic difficulty. Follow after the break for the full list of notes.

Today's hotfix post, courtesy of Zarhym on the official WoW blog, covers a variety of small changes, mostly addressing system errors and bugs. Players using the Mobile Guild Chat app should no longer get error messages stating that they aren't in a guild. Mail that's sent from the auction house should no longer display incorrect information about the transaction; this includes transactions from the Mobile Auction House as well. Everyone's so excited about the pending PTR for patch 4.2 that we've forgotten all about poor, neglected patch 4.1. Don't worry, Blizzard certainly hasn't -- and today, we've got another round of hotfixes posted by Zarhym (community manager) at the official Warcraft blog. In addition to the usual small fixes, there's a welcome fix to account-bound items, and for characters who have switched factions recently: The issue preventing some players from mailing account-bound items to other characters on the same realm and Battle.net account has been addressed. If you're still experiencing the issue, try logging on to both characters before sending the mail. Players who have recently switched factions should now be able to properly get quests for Children's Week. Call to Arms rewards should now be displayed in the dungeon finder UI while the player is in the dungeon. Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.
