Player attention may have been focused on the DDO Offer Wall the past few days, but Turbine jumped in and made it right pretty quickly. Hopefully the focus will head back to the fun stuff pretty soon -- namely, Dungeons and Dragons Online Update 4. If you've not heard the talk about Update 4, the Sentinels Adventure Pack, and the infamous zombie-pirates...well, welcome to Massively. We're glad you stopped by. Turbine has released another round of gorgeous screenshots from Sentinels. These give us a peek at some pretty interesting things, including Captain Tew and Ratty, a flaming airship, some unusually well-dressed Kobolds, and -- surprise surprise -- zombies and pirates. Sadly, they are not zombie-pirates, just one of each. Still, the screenshots are a great look at the Adventure Pack, so take a peek at the gallery and then head into Dungeons and Dragons Online to check it out for yourself. %Gallery-90857%

Update 4 for Dungeons and Dragons Online launched today, and most of the attention has been on Sentinels, the newest Adventure Pack. Everyone loves new content, especially the kind that comes with an extra shot of awesome in the form of zombie pirates. If you've taken a look at the patch notes, you know that Turbine didn't stop with the Adventure Pack. We got the normal dose of bug fixes and small adjustments, as well as two significant additions. First is the new DDO Player Feed for Facebook, an addition that was almost to be expected given last month's addition of the LotRO Player Feed. It will work in much the same way, and can be installed here. The DDO Store catalog is expanding as well, adding such items as +2 character bank slots, +3 Greater Reincarnation, and specials on Turbine Point bundles. We're still all about the zombie pirates here at Massively, though, and Turbine has obliged us with some new screenshots of Update 4, and a video trailer full of...you guessed it. Zombies and pirates. Follow along after the jump, and enjoy. %Gallery-89952%

  • DDO releases zombified Update 4 patch notes

My Uncle Ben once told me that with great power comes great responsibility. He also was fond of saying that with Update 4 comes great zombie pirates, but we always just assumed he was a bit senile when he'd go on about that. Apparently not, as Turbine just released the DDO patch notes for the imminent Update 4, and players of all levels look to be in for a treat. "Adventure steals in from the sea!" they promise, citing a new adventure pack entitled "Sentinels." This pack includes a series of zombie pirate adventures for players levels 6-8, as well as an epic difficulty version for level 20 powerhouses. At PAX East we got to experience this adventure up close and personal, and walked away impressed with the epic feel of the module.

PAX East in Boston kicked off yesterday, and we were lucky enough to have a visit with Fernando Paiz, the Executive Producer of Dungeons and Dragons Online. We spent some time looking at Update 4 as well as chatting about what else is in store for Dungeons and Dragons Online in 2010. Update 4 will bring the standard Adventure Pack, of course -- "Sentinels" is geared toward more low-level characters than the previous one -- but Turbine didn't stop there. Players were pretty excited and even more curious about the guild housing planned for this summer, with a lot of questions about it. Will smaller guilds be at a disadvantage? Do you have to spend money to access it? How is it all going to work? For all the answers, follow along after the jump to see what we heard from DDO's Executive Producer.
