Ricoh releases Caplio R1V with 4.8X optical zoom
Given our earlier excitement about the prospect of a consumer-level point-and-click digital camera with 3.0+ optical zoom, we're pleased to see that Ricoh went ahead and got this little baby to market. The R1V, as speculated, sports 4.8X optical zoom on top of its 5.0MP engine. It also claims a super-fast shutter speed of 0.1 seconds, macro mode, and a 1.8-inch LCD screen. For memory purposes is uses SD and MMC media. Expect it to pop up in stores in early 2005.
