HD-DVD to appear via in store demos this fall
Toshiba just announced that they will be providing certain retailers with an HD-DVD player and media this fall for demo only. The player appears to be the same model that will be available for purchase later on, the HD-AX1. This player can do 1080i and I cannot wait to see it. They still have not given a date for the official launch yet, raising that old speculation that it could be early 2006.
Unfortunately, they did not say what retailers will be getting the demo material but can we assume that Best Buy, and notCircuit City, will be on their list. Circuit City does not sell any Toshiba audio/video products but Best Buy seems to have a full selection of the brand.
