The Queue: Ghostcrawler promised me a Sea Mouse

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.

I'm using that picture of a Sea Mouse in The Queue today for a few reasons. First, it's disgusting and I can't wait to see all the comments. Second, this is the stuff Ghostcrawler dealt with before he was in video games. Knowing that makes one understand why he has such a sarcastic take on trolls.

So let's get into it.

Phil asked...

"Where do babies come from?"

Ghostcrawler promised me a... oh never mind.

Scooba asked...

"Why hasn't Blizzard done anything in-game to help prevent gold hackers? Couldn't there be an in-game pin number or security question to gain gold access? Why do we all walk around with all our gold in our bags? Why not be able to put it in a "lockbox" or even the option of a time lock? If keylogging is the problem then maybe a puzzle type of lock? Where is my Undercity ATM Card?"

First, take a look at authenticators. Secondly, in-game lockboxes that require any sort of personal identification verification could just as easily be keylogged as your password. So again, the answer is an authenticator.

Matt asked...

"Why do all of WoW.com's links load in the same window? I know constantly having new windows or tabs for links can annoying readers, but it seems silly to have a joke link (linking to Penny Arcade's GIF theory comic, for instance) take you away from the site."

This is the default behavior for most websites, and is relatively standard since the early 1990s. If you don't like it, you can control-click the link on most browsers and platforms, or right click and select "Open in new tab" (or window).

Erknost asked...

"There is such thing as a resilience cap? And is that exist, what the resilience cap for a holy paladin in an arena? There is a different in resilience cap for arena 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 and battleground?"

Damage reduction is capped at 33%, or 1414.5 resilience at level 80. You can continue stacking to reduce crit chance, but at that point there are other stats to focus on and resilience loses a lot of its charm.

Azurite asked...

"Yesterday I got in a random for H HoR and the Battered Hilt dropped. We all needed on it and the healer and myself both rolled a 68, which was the highest roll. Still, I automatically received the hilt even though the healer had rolled the same number I did. What did the loot system take into consideration to give it to me and not to the healer?"

When two or more people roll the same number a tie situation is generated. At that point hidden rolls are done until all ties are resolved. So in this case, the loot system rolled the dice again behind the scenes, and you came out ahead.
