El Presidente, Tropico 4 is on its way in 2011

People of Tropico, it is I, Juanito! It appears that El Presidente is ready to simulate his next revolución, as he has ordered Haemimont Games, creators of Tropico 3, to make him another sequel. Tropico 4 has been announced for PC, but publisher Kalypso Games hints at a "possible console version" -- the previous installment was released on Xbox 360. The banana republic simulator is currently scheduled for a calendar Q2 2011 release.

Tropico 4 will have a new campaign with 20 missions on 10 new maps, 20 "new buildings" and a whole sweatshop-produced mess of other features, including Facebook and Twitter integration.

Tropico 3
was a very competent game that recaptured the spirit of the original. If the fourth installment can streamline some of the more unruly micromanagement and flow issues of the last game, Haemimont Games could have one of the best strategy sims in years on its coconut-oiled hands.

El Presidente Returns as Kalypso Media Announces Tropico 4 on PC

Bracknell, UK – 13th August, 2010 - Following the worldwide success of Tropico 3, Kalypso Media is pleased to announce that Tropico 4, the next title in the bestselling strategy simulation series, is currently in development by Haemimont Games for Windows PC. News on a possible console version of Tropico 4 will be made available soon. In Tropico 4, El Presidente returns to the island of Tropico, and this time, he's bringing new enemies and allies along for the ride, as he fights to turn his little island into a superpower. New content and gameplay features will influence whether our fearless leader can create a feared superpower, or become nothing more than a small-time banana republic ruler.

Tropico 4 sees you return as El Presidente, the tyrannical (or benevolent) dictator of the island paradise of Tropico. The world is changing and Tropico is moving with the times – geographical powers rise and fall and the world market is dominated by new players with new demands and offers - and you, as El Presidente, face a whole new set of challenges. If you are to triumph over your naysayers you will need to gain as much support from your people as possible. Your decisions will shape the future of your nation, and more importantly, the size of your Swiss bank account.

Tropico 4 features all new missions across new maps and includes exciting and fun new features to keep the action fresh and challenging. You can even elect ministers into power to help get your more controversial decisions passed through the government. But remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer as everyone has an agenda!

Tropico 4 also brings a new level of social interaction with the addition of Facebook and Twitter integration (PC version only). Post comments on Twitter direct from the game and have updates go out when you complete missions or unlock new achievements. You can even take screenshots of your island and post them on your Tropico 4 Facebook page and compare your interactive Dictator ranking on the online leaderboards. Every little bit helps when you are bringing your island into the 21st Century!
