Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • HTC Sensation XL: According to forum reports, an update is being sent out to this smartphone, which is said to bring Android 4.0.3 along for the ride. The update weighs in just south of 200MB, and remains with the Sense 3.6 overcoat. [Android Central]

  • Samsung Exhibit II 4G: This entry-level smartphone for T-Mobile is receiving an incremental update that's said to improve stability, bring refinements to the camera app and security fixes. Along with these tweaks, the handset is being officially rebranded as the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (Verizon): This high-end and even higher-cost LTE tablet for Verizon Wireless is receiving a refresh to enable IPv6 addressing. [Droid Life]

  • Samsung Galaxy Note: Word on the street has it that Ice Cream Sandwich is now being sent out to Sammy phablets in the UK. The update is available either over-the-air or through Samsung's Kies service. [Techno Buffalo]

  • Samsung Conquer 4G: This budget WiMAX handset from Sprint is receiving a couple of very minor tweaks. One is described as a "4G modem update" while the other change will allow a user to unlock their phone with a swipe in any direction. [Android Police]

  • HTC Amaze 4G: The Android 4.0 / Sense 3.6 update is now available for this smartphone on the Telus network in Canada. It's available OTA, so hop on WiFi and burn that Gingerbread house to the ground. [MobileSyrup]

  • HTC One S: T-Mobile has chosen to delay its promised update for the One S until tomorrow, June 4th. The new software will be rolled out in stages, which will continue through July 7th. It's said to bring a fix to the voicemail indicator, improve WiFi calling and resolve signal fluctuation. [TmoNews]

Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery

  • LG Spectrum: A leaked version of the Android 4.0.4 update for this Verizon smartphone has now worked its way into the wild. While this is still a pre-release build, it could be worth the headache if you're looking to leave Gingerbread as a thing of the past. [Android Community]

  • HTC One X: Looking to sully all of HTC's hard work to make Sense 4 more lightweight and friendly than ever? We don't blame you, because CyanogenMod 9 is pretty wicked. An unofficial build of this popular custom ROM is now available for the One X, and now that even the AT&T variant can be unlocked, you deserve it to yourself to give 'er a whirl. [Android Community]

Other platforms

  • BlackBerry Bold 9930: Verizon Wireless is now rolling out version 7.1.0.267 of the BlackBerry OS to users of its top-tier phone from RIM. [CrackBerry]

  • BlackBerry Torch 9810: Users of this sliding QWERTY handset will find version 7.1.0.391 available from Rogers Wireless in Canada. [CrackBerry]

  • BlackBerry Torch 9860: Last but not least in the BlackBerry updates of the week, Telstra is now sending OS version 7.1.0.428 out to the Torch 9860. [N4BB]
