Refresh Roundup: week of April 1st, 2013

Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity: Following ASUS' delivery of Android 4.2 for the Transformer Pad (TF300), the company has extended similar love to Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) users. You heard that right: the latest version of Jelly Bean is now available for download. [ASUS (Facebook)]

  • LG Optimus 4X HD: You can go ahead and file one in the better late than never category, because LG is now upgrading the Optimus 4X HD to Jelly Bean within many European regions. [SmartPhenom]

  • Samsung Galaxy Ace 2: Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) is now beginning to roll out to this smartphone via Samsung Kies and as an OTA install. That said, the update has yet to hit all regions, so there's a good chance that you'll need to be patient as the deployment expands. [SamMobile]

  • HTC Thunderbolt: Following the dismally tardy deployment of Ice Cream Sandwich to the Thunderbolt, Verizon has announced a new update that brings several smaller changes. First and foremost, the microphone now works when hearing aid amplification is enabled, and users will also now receive Amber Alerts. Verizon also highlights enhancements for Yahoo! and Exchange email users, along with improvements to the text messaging app. [PhoneArena]

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus: The deployment of Android 4.1.2 is now underway for this tablet, as first signs of the new OS have been spotted within Austria. [SamMobile]

  • Samsung Galaxy Axiom: It wasn't long ago that US Cellular first introduced the Galaxy Axiom to its customers, but now it's taking steps to keep the smartphone relevant with an update to Android 4.1.2, which is available for OTA install. [PhoneDog]

  • Kyocera Rise: A collection of bug fixes is now available to this messaging slider that's available from Sprint. The update is said to resolve Bluetooth connectivity issues and bring stability improvements to the gallery app. [Android Police]

  • Archos 80 Cobalt: A new update is available for this 8-inch tablet from Archos, which is designed to squash a couple of bugs that'd affected Google Talk and shortcuts on the home screen. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Galaxy S II: Android 4.1.2 is now available to the NFC-enabled version of the Galaxy S II (GT-i9100P). [SamMobile]

  • LG Optimus 7: Telus has released an update to Windows Phone 8 for this first-generation Windows phone device. [MobileSyrup]

  • Nokia Lumia 920: Following news of connectivity issues that relate to a recently released firmware update (1308) for the Lumia 920, Nokia has suspended distribution of the offending software. [WPCentral]
