The Queue Big trees

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

I think we can all agree with Ghostcrawler on this one -- the trees are really big.

Booberry asked:

what would be your dream race to be added as a playable race?

Etherals. I would give my right thigh for Etherals to become a playable race. I think they are some of the coolest looking mobs Blizzard has designed, and their lore really got started in The Burning Crusade ... and then vanished.

I want more, in a very bad way. I know that I'm not alone here either, and I'd hope that we'll see them one day. It'd just be really cool.

Darell asked:

With a possible 5.5 patch to tie up MOPs story, what changes do you think will happen in game? (Vol'jin in org, etc)

I suspect we'll see just what you said above -- Vol'jin moving into his spot at the center of the Horde. As Matt and Anne commented on the podcast last night, it's quite odd as a horde player to defeat Garrosh and then leave the raid only to see him sitting on his throne like nothing has happened. Well, something did happen, and we need to see the consequences.

Besides that, however, I don't really know. There's a lot of weird ideas I've heard about patch 5.5 -- and none of them fit into what we already know. This is a Friday question, we should know more at BlizzCon.

JDPatrick asked:

What is the best way to find lists of realms that are slated for connection? Is Blizzard the sole source, or is there any other intrepid blogger out there with the info?

Blizzard is the only source that lists them out for people ahead of time. As far as I know there's been no leaks or pattern sussed out. Blizzard has said that they're taking things slow right now, so that's why we're not seeing a ton. However, in the last week or two the pace has seemed to pick up. It'll be interesting to watch and see where things land when the bulk of the connections are made.

But for now, we'll all just have to wait.

Andrew asked:

Do you think there will be Gnome hunters in the next expansion? This is not a joke question.

Overall race restrictions are one of the things that I've really waffled with lately. Some days I hate them, other days I love them. Then the RPG purist in me comes out and is all "they are necessary, because D&D said so."

Gnome hunters? No -- I think the only way that we're going to see them is if all race/class restrictions are lifted. By themselves I just don't see how it'd work, those guys are barely big enough to carry a bow, let alone command an animal.
