Map of Eorzea

Yesterday's reveal of The Elder Scrolls Online'sinteractive map got me to thinking about MMO cartography and how necessary it is outside of flavor or lore considerations. Sadly, I think the answer is that it's not necessary at all except in a few archaic sandbox games that eschew quest chains and the like.

Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. We crave your opinions, so grab your caffeinated beverage of choice and chime in on today's Daily Grind!
