Apple rolls out Apple TV software update with "Family Sharing" support and dedicated "Beats" channel

Apple's servers are being put to the test today. In addition to the release of iOS 8, Apple earlier today also rolled out a software update for Apple TV which brings with it a number of enhancements.

First, the Apple TV design interface has been slightly revamped. Though the layout effectively remains the same, the text is thinner and the icons flatter, emulating more closely the design aesthetic Apple first ushered in with iOS 7.

Second, the new Apple TV update adds a dedicated channel for "Beats Music"; and so, the Beats integration slowly begins...

And third, the software update adds supports for Family Sharing, a feature Apple first introduced at WWDC a few months back. With Family Sharing enabled, up to six people, presumably all part of the same family, can all access iTunes and App Store purchases made by the others.
