EE customers to get six months of free BT Sport

It's the first BT/EE crossover, but it apparently won't be the last.

With Euro 2016 now over and Cristiano Ronaldo's tears dry on his winning face, the focus is now back on domestic campaigns and the start of the most lucrative Premier League season in history. The first matches kick off in just under a month but today BT and EE have announced a new deal that will offer free access to all BT Sport channels for six months.

EE says that pay monthly phone, SIM only and connected tablet customers will be eligible for six months of free streaming on iOS and Android devices (there's no love for EE TV owners). It covers not only the Premier League, but the Champions League, Europa League, Aviva Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, UFC and NBA. Once that period is up, you can cancel the subscription or keep streaming for £5 per month.

The deal is the first major BT and EE crossover since the two companies officially merged in January and, according to a press release, won't be the last. Streams aren't available just yet, EE says that customers will be able to sign up and stream using the BT Sport app from July 27th.
