Dyson Unveiled at IFA 2026: Live updates as the company shows off new vacuums, purifiers, robotics and more

Well well well, after I posted that summary I see that commenter "TechEnthusiast" is asking about the number of products actually announced by Dyson this week. I think we should clarify that Mat's maths might include different SKUs and sizes? We have one toothbrush, one Pencilvac, three robovacs, two to three purifiers and a hair styling tool. 

We appreciate you all hanging out with us today and putting up with technical difficulties (mostly Dyson's, it seems). As a recap, Dyson unveiled new vacuums, a purifier and a hair brush today. Jake Dyson is back, to wrap things up. How's that livestream going?

It sounds like Dyson's spin on the Genius Bar. Naturally, with all the moving parts, plenty of things could go wrong with a vac, a robovac or... a toothbrush?

We're going into a servicing service that would rezhuzh devices, making them like (well, closer to) new.

Kind of like Apple Care and such, but Dyson?

Hmmm how is that different from the existing My Dyson app... ahhh...

It sounds like a combination of customer service, tutorials and repair support.

Dyson is pulling a kind of Apple move. MyDyson, a  newcustomer platform. "Never without my Dyson" is the motto. 

The new beatuy devices here have universal voltage, so they should work pretty much anywhere. 

It's alright, I have a ton of hair and can weigh in.

The irony of someone with my hairline writing about these products isn't lost on me.

And we're onto a new hot air brush built to avoid damaging hair from uneven heat distribution or from being simply way too hot. It's got pivot flex bristles that flex up to 90 degrees. 

New hair straighteners: CoolShine, with its own cooling attachment. It has sealed heat-extracting pipes containing distilled water. It all reduces heat exposure.

We're talking nozzles. It's Dyson — we were going to talk nozzles. The design behind these helps keep airflow powerful but also quiet. The Hushjets, if you haven't come across one, are bafflingly quiet when they're running.

Dyson's newest Hushjet air purifier can process 1,200 m³ of air.

Dyson posted a 15-second video called "Dyson Unveiled 2026" about 3 minutes ago. We're never getting this YouTube stream.

It's easier to clean than its predecessors, and this version of the PencilWash includes a self-cleaning cycle when it's docked. 

Oh man, we are speeding along. We're moving on to stick cleaners; this time it's the upgraded W1 PencilWash. It's got the company's most absorbent microfiber roller ever. 

But it was a 10-second trailer. Ignore me.

OMG the YouTube video is live.

The R2 Wash and Dry has an off-center gear with a curved triangular pad that cleans tight square corners far better than circular brushes. 

The R3 will use IR and green light to detect otherwise invisible stains, and then hunt 'em down and get rid.

Dyson has an entirely new range of robot vacuums called Nurobi. It starts with the R3, "our most advanced cleaner to date." 

We are on floor care. Classic Dyson time. We're starting with Spot+Scrub AI technology, which was able to detect stains it had missed. 

It seems like the toothbrush came later in development, which may explain the naming!

It tells the tale of how the team developed the water stream, so it didn't needle like traditional water piks.

We're now getting a short film about the creation of the CameraJet. With a funky samba soundtrack.

We're getting a peek at the live view mode in the companion app. Turner notes that there's a non-foaming toothpaste to ensure the camera can peep at your gumline. 

And trust in me, NotAUser. I definitely won't start a cult.

We are getting into all the details; now Turner is talking about the water tank that uses suction and pressure to maintain the water stream without waste.

I wonder how many people are actually skeeved out by a camera that's looking inside your mouth as you brush. I personally would love to see the back of my teeth and how clean (or unclean) they might be.

I think it's interesting that Dyson always makes sure the tech parts are very visible. Check out how you can see the camera on the stem of the CameraJet.

The camera is trained through machine learning, using over 470,000 dental images to practice from.

The toothbrush-flosser hybrid has a 1 mm² camera built inside. 

Dyson engineers believed that, given the tech hasn't changed since the '80s, it had "a real problem to solve."

We are talking about flossing (and about how many of us don't do it).

I'm still not seeing the YouTube premiere of this on Dyson's channels as promised, so unfortunately we'll all have to rely on Mat's quick fingers.

Jake Dyson is teasing floor cleaners that can hunt donw "invisible" stains on your floor and hair treatment products.

Looks like we'll be hearing even more about the tech behind the toothbrush, alongside more new products. Strap in folks!

To be clear, James Dyson did already unveil the CameraJet toothbrush in Paris earlier this week. But today we should see more of other products from the company. I'm hearing from Mat that the internet at the event is crawling, so perhaps there are some technical difficulties on Dyson's side.

Mat have things started? The YouTube premiere has not...

Here's what that "art installation" venue that Mat mentioned looks like.

I've recently moved into a bigger but older space and cleaning gadgets are top of mind. I've been Swiffering nonstop for a couple of weeks, so anything Dyson (or other brands like Eufy, Roborock et al) can show me that might make all that work easier will be very welcome.

Not that there seems to be a huge interest in finding out what Dyson is preparing to announce ahead of the reveal that's happening in just under 30 minutes, but a Redditor has already spotted some leaked product listings on Best Buy. 

There's also the less expected stuff, like the hair styling tools, the handheld fans and now, the toothbrush. I even liked the Dyson Zone! Quick, before clicking that link or Googling (or asking AI). Does anyone here remember what that is? 

Alright, I'll stop giving you an IFA rundown. You're here for Dyson, ostensibly. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I'm a fan of the company's products. Every time I go to a briefing or a demo, I'm impressed by the ways the people that work there think about cleaning. I'm a huge clean freak and hate grime. Lots of Dyson's tech really speak to me, particularly the ones that allow me to get rid of dirt without having to remove a dust chamber or bag.

I was personally quite intrigued by all the accessories that Belkin announced today, especially as they look remarkably familiar. Some of the new chargers are very reminiscent of our favorite Anker laptop battery chargers, for instance...

Speaking of, Anker also had some new devices to show off, including its Soundcore Space 2 Pro headphones. I'll admit I got a bit confused because right after editing and publishing our story on Belkin's Soundform series of audio gear, I saw the Anker Soundcore news article on our home page and thought we had goofed and wrote duplicate stories. Luckily, it was just a case of brands' names sounding way too similar.

There's also been quite a lot of interesting devices out of IFA this year, like Xiaomi's new passport-style foldable. Mat checked it out at the show. Well, he was able to stare longingly at it from a distance, anyway. Here's all the details he was able to gather on the Xiaomi Pro 18 Fold so far. We'll have to wait till September 7 for the full reveal.

Mat is making his way over to Dyson's event space as we speak, and while we wait for things to kick off, I'll take this time to remind you of what the company has already announced this week. It's something called the CameraJet. And from the name alone you might not guess that it's a toothbrush-flosser-combo. Or maybe you might, you clever person you.

It's all taking place at IFA 2026 in Berlin, and while there have been many other press conferences from the show so far, the timing hasn't really worked out. But this one starts in the late afternoon in Berlin, which is prime morning hours here on East coast of America.
