Engadget Review

The Chromebook Flip is notable for being one of the lightest Chrome OS laptops on the market. Its versatile and convertible design, solid build quality and affordable price also help set it apart from the pack. The smaller-than-average keyboard will be a turnoff for some, but ultimately, the positives outweigh the negatives.

A Chromebook that manages to add hybrid features without driving up the price, the Asus Flip C100 trades speed for long battery life.

The $249 Asus Chromebook Flip offers a flexible design, a vibrant touch screen and long battery life, making it a very good laptop-tablet combo.

If you want what Asus is selling, for the price Asus is selling it at, there’s no other game in town. Everything else at this price is going to feel cheaper, be less portable, or come with other awkward caveats. The Chromebook Flip doesn’t really suck in any meaningful way.

TechRadar
This affordable Chromebook blows other cheap models out of the water with a metal clad body. It's also a 2-in-1 Chromebook that transforms into a tablet with just a flip.

I wouldn't replace my regular laptop running Mac OS X with the Flip, as it's more suited for travel or other situations where compact size and light weight matters. But for basic portable productivity, the Asus Chromebook Flip is hard to beat, especially with its incredibly low $250 price tag.

The Chromebook Flip is a neat little device with a lot of compelling qualities -- and a lot of bang for the buck. The thing you have to ask yourself is if a device like this makes sense for your needs.

The Verge
The Chromebook Flip makes a strong argument for "good enough" despite minuses like a just-okay screen and average performance.

This Chromebook is pretty gosh-darned nice. ASUS did the right thing giving it a name that allows it to stand alone as a unique brand in and of itself - the Chromebook Flip. First of its name.

The Flip can handle pretty much anything you could want to throw at this kind of machine, and does so while also giving somewhere between seven and 10 hours of battery life — plenty to get you through a day without the charger.
