Dell's 2740L is an affordable 27-inch display that balances some trade-offs to keep its price low. Its 1920x1080 resolution doesn't match the 2560x1440 available on Dell's U2713HM -- but that monitor sells for twice as much as this one. As PC Mag says, the 2740L is " a beautifully crafted 27-inch IPS monitor with a reasonable price tag." TFT Central, while critical of the display's overly reflective screen, found it to be a "good option" if you're in the market for a "large glossy screen with a pretty decent set of features and some nice overall performance." However, not all of the critics were impressed. MacWorld found that Dell made too many compromises to keep the price down, and concluded that "the fairly low resolution might be desirable for some people, but it makes screen elements too large for me to want to use the S2740L as a desktop-computing screen."
