Engadget Review

The Lumix S5 is Panasonic’s answer to Canon’s EOS R6 and is the best video-centric camera in its price range. It’s smaller and costs less than the Lumix S1, but it actually delivers better video features. That includes a flip-out display, five-axis in-body stabilization and 10-bit 4K recording at up to 60 fps. The autofocus is faster and more accurate than the S1, but not as good as Sony and Canon’s systems for video. It has a poor electronic viewfinder, and while it delivers sharp and color-accurate photos, you’ll never mistake it for an action camera because of the low burst speeds.

Panasonic Lumix S5 review: Incredible video power in a smaller package
It has more 4K power than the S1 and faster autofocus.
