Engadget Review

Razer’s 14-inch Blade is its most powerful laptop to date, not to mention its most affordable. Strong internals, an attractive build and long battery life make it a solid option for gamers and non-gamers alike.

amazingly designed laptop. It looks and feels like a black Macbook. I had it for about a week before I returned it to best buy. If it wasn't for 2 problems i probably would have kept it. 1) It gets super how around the exhaust vets. The vents are at the top top of the keyboard built into the hing. when gaming the metal frame near the hinge can get painful to the touch. The battery life was abysmal. I work at a small tech company and go to school as a CS major. When turned to the lowest settings with the wifi browsing the web it would barely last me through my first 2 hour class. kinda expected more from a laptop advertising 6 hours and a hanswell chip. i would have settled for 4.5-5 hours out of it. If your looking for a machine to play games on with a controller(so that you don't burn your hands) its an amazing machine. If your also looking for a machine that you can work on the go for a couple hours take your 2 grand else where.

Got this to replace a stolen (>.<) 2011 mid-year refresh Macbook Air. Was very surprised at the speed and responsiveness of Windows 8 on this machine. It definitely boots much faster than the Air and doesn't require near as much loading time out of hibernate. When gaming, the Blade heats up like a furnace so not great for actually using on your lap. Still, I've been running it through the gauntlet of my Steam library and it's held up amazingly well. I wouldn't recommend anything less than the 256GB model though, as the OS takes up about 60GB of space. From a design perspective, this rivals even the latest Macbook Pro. Only the cheap display is holding it back imo.

Best Windows 8 laptop I've used. A really good compromise between Mac's quality and Windows laptops power (and games !).
