Engadget Review

The Vita TV can play PS1 andVita games, and,if you have a PS4,you can useRemote Play, too. It's cheap, but the video services are limited, bothin content and picture quality. For now, it may be aJapan-only experiment, butit has potential, assuming Sony can work out some of the game compatibility issues.

I got this at the bargain bin price of $40 from Amazon and I am still kind of regretting it. I have an extensive Vita library with about a 60% compatibility game wise, the main reason for incompatibility for the majority of games is lack of updates from either the developer or Sony. I am not expecting touch-heavy games to be compatible, please don't mistake my frustration for ignorance. On the remote play side things looked pretty promising at first, it paired with my PS4 seamlessly and, by direction of previous reviewers, I made sure both the PS TV and PS4 were connected via ethernet to ensure the fastest connection. Then I started playing a game, 2K15 to be exact, the graphics started to become muddy once any action on the screen started and the lag between button press and screen action was too much for even 2 minutes of play. For what seems like a promising concept it comes off as just too beta for me. A product description shouldn't have more than a few "it'll work fine only if..." examples but here we are and the PS TV seems like it's tagline should be "it'll work fine only if....".
