Engadget Review

Not only is the Tablet Z2 the thinnest and lightest tab Sony has ever made, but also it's far and away the best. It's trim design and strong spec sheet makes it a strong competitor against similarly sized tabs from Sony's arch-rival, Samsung.

The Xperia Z2 is a huge step up from my previous Asus TF700. It's much lighter, but the design also makes it much more comfortable to hold. The screen and sound is great. I do recommend getting the charging dock to for convience and to help preserve the waterproofing. Sony's Android tweaks and minor and inoffensive, and I actually find their Movie and Walkman apps better than the Google alternatives.

For those looking for a top-of-the-line tablet, look no further. The Z2 has everything that a tablet user could hope for. The Z2 is as fast as they come, more versatile than most, and does so with style. This is without a doubt the best tablet I’ve ever held in my hand. Here are some reasons why. Quality of Build: No other tablet comes close in this category with the exception of the Apple offerings. Sony continues to make practical improvements to their tablets. The Z2 has more rounded corners than the Z1 making more comfortable to hold. The port covers and easier to open and close and the magnetic charging connector is very flush and discreet. The material on the back cover is a nice texture that allows for better grip of the device. Some have complained about the size of the bezels, but in my experience they really allow for nice placement of thumbs for handling the device with affecting what is on the screen. Not only is this the thinnest tablet you will find but it’s light weight is shocking. Features: The Sony Z2 is loaded with useful features. First off, the sound. I have never seen so many features related to getting the right sound into your ears. Sony even included a 5-band graphic equalizer built in to the tablet so you can dial in your tunes. Also, this is the only tablet that incorporates Noise Cancelling tech into the device. In addition to this try to find another tablet that also has • Expandable memory up to 128GB • Near-Field Communication capability • IR output to turn your device into a remote control • Latest 802.11/ac WI-FI support • 3GB of RAM • and is waterproof and dustproof!! Yes, the Sony is truly a unique tablet that I highly recommend.

Top specs except for resolution, plus it is waterproof. The screen is a lot better than the other 1080p tablets I have had.The magnetic dock works pretty well, but I would still prefer Qi charging. This is incredibly light, you can read it ebooks and never feel like you are carrying something.Add a bluetoot keyboard and the magnetic dock and you have a plobbable desktop solution.

Had the iPad Air and lost it in a Taxi in Germany, then I found the "lost my iPad" feature is not useful. I never got it back. Then I had my hands on the Z2 tabled and purchased it . Even if certain people are OS addicted I must say even if I am a big Apple Fanboy switching to an Android tablet is easy because .... Apps ... yes everything nowdays is app based so no matter if you run iOS or Android you will get the same Facebook, Evernote, Games etc. Battery time is great , screen is really good but not as sharp as the retina however it does the job and you will not notice the difference that much. Waterproof ... yes why not , if it comes with it then you don't have to pay anything extra for a Otterbox case. I also got the Z2 docking station, great and cheap gadget to add to your tablet. No speed difference compared to iPad Air, however I am not a gamer so I have not tested it in games. I preffer the Gmail app on Android since I host my emails with Google Business Apps. Great tablet , keep up the good work Sony.

Overall I love my new Xperia z2 Tablet! I've had it for about three weeks now and after countless hours of going through and customizing and testing features, this is what I've noticed about it. Pros:The tablet is light and very comfortable to hold over long periods of time. The screen looks amazing as long as your not out in direct sunlight.A lot of people complain about the battery life but for me using it non stop (surfing the web listening to music, watching Netflix/Hulu, streaming to my T.V) i get a full days use without recharging. The front facing speakers really pack a punch and are a great improvement over my former Asus Tf-700.The convenience of a IR remote right at your finger tips.Very fast tablet, No lag what so ever. Cons:The Sony "Throw" feature doesn't work as well as the Samsungs "All cast" feature. You need and accessory to connect a Ps3 controller. ( Not included )Camera not so great in decent/low light conditions.
