Engadget Review

Sony's Z3 Tablet Compact is a well-made, thin and light device with a stunning display, brisk performance and robust battery life. Still, it's difficult to recommend at this price ($445 and up) when there are other thin and light flagship tablets that cost less, many of which offer higher-resolution screens and more capable cameras.

Not sure why Engadget went with 7.4 as a score. After much research comparing Nvidia's Shield, Nexus 9, Samsung's Tab S and Ipad Mini, I still chose Sony's Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact LTE (Z3TC). Might be because my situation is different from normal people.[ Main Reasons For Z3TC ]Screen size - Bigger is not better, or bigger is better! It depends on which device you had before. I needed something bigger than my Galaxy Note I, but smaller than a clunky Ipad. Watching movies, playing games and reading books on this bad boy is amazingDesign (Hardware\software) - I like my designs simple and elegant. This is perfect.Lightweight - Great for surfing, msg-ing, reading and casual game playing. My wrists don't get tired holding it with one hand.Responsive OS - Aside from some Sony default apps like walkman, the other apps can be uninstalled to get it close to semi-stock Android. I had a samsung galaxy note I for years. Tired of the bloatware slowing down the whole system, which could only be removed with a ROOT. In short this thing runs like butter. Android 5 compatible - Sony promised lollipop later this year.Battery life - The battery is great on this guy! With wifi\ data\ bluetooth turned on; it can last about 1-2 days before hitting 15% battery life. This is with daily use.Phone capability for LTE - This should be first.. but i kept it last. I needed an all-in-one. Tired of bringing my Ipad for reading and a Note I for calling. [ Cons for Z3TC ]Camera - It's weak. I admit, but I won't be taking much pictures anywaysBluetooth headset - If you don't use a head set or bluetooth headset, calling people on this device is embarrassing. But with a bluetooth, you can tuck away your Z3TC Price - As mentioned it is pricy, but still comparable to the other premium devices. [Overall]I love my Z3TC if you cannot tell. A phablet\tablet that can let you read without squinting, while phoning someone, is priceless.
