Your patience has paid off. Today, Capcom has issued the full Capcom Arcade Cabinet collection - a cheaper bundle of all 17 games previously issued in piecemeal packs and as individual downloads. The all-in-one pack is available starting today for 2,000 MS Points ($30), a saving of $15 over purchasing all five game packs. Capcom Arcade Cabinet highlights games from the publisher's catalog spanning the years between 1984 and 1988. The full list of 17 games within the Capcom Arcade Cabinet are Black Tiger, Avengers, 1943, The Battle of Midway, Ghosts n Goblins, Gun Smoke, Section Z, Side Arms, Legendary Wings, Trojan, Commando, The Speed Rumbler, Exed Exes (Savage Bees), 1942, SonSon and Pirate Ship Higemaru. There are also two secret games: 1943 Kai and Vulgus.

Capcom's planned releases of games for Capcom Arcade Cabinet come to an end today with Son Son and Pirate Ship Higemaru, illustrating the bizarre trajectory of Capcom's historical re-releases.Rather than follow the history of the company in a linear fashion, Capcom released packs of games from 1987, then 1985, 1986, 1985 again, and finally 1984, with bonus games from 1988 and 1984 (Vulgus is Capcom's first arcade game). It's easy to overlook the haphazard plan behind these releases in favor of, you know, just enjoying some old games, but now that the push is over we're looking back for the first time and realizing: Capcom Arcade Cabinet is pretty odd.

Those who purchase all 15 games in the Capcom Arcade Cabinet collection will get two additional games at no charge: 1943 Kai and Vulgus.1943 Kai is a special version of classic shmup 1943 that was previously exclusive to Japan. Vulgus, also a shmup, is similar to Xevious in that there are no pre-set levels – players push through progressively more difficult scenarios until they lose. This week marks the fifth and final game pack for Capcom Arcade Cabinet, which includes 1942, SonSon and Pirate Ship Higemaru. An all-in-one pack will launch on May 21 for a reduced price of $29.99 (2000 MS Points) through PSN and Xbox Live Arcade.

Capcom is digging deep into its back catalog for today's Capcom Arcade Cabinet pack, releasing a second pack of 1985 arcade games consisting of The Speed Rumbler, Savage Bees and the considerably less obscure Commando.Savage Bees might be (a bit) better known these days as Exed Exes. When Memetron licensed the shooter for North America, it renamed it the slightly more eye-catching Savage Bees. The Speed Rumbler is kind of, sort of related to Commando, as it stars Super Joe on a rescue mission. The twist: he has a sweet car.

The third pack of Capcom Arcade Cabinet releases is a trio of games from 1986: Side Arms, Legendary Wings, and Trojan. The $10 pack is an interesting mix of side-scrolling and vertical shooting, and the post-apocalyptic urban sword-and-shielding of Trojan, a game we remember for being the early Capcom NES game that wasn't Gun.Smoke, Commando or Mega Man.As usual, the arrival of this pack today means that last week's games will be available a la carte for $4 each.

You can now stock your Capcom Arcade Cabinet with three more games. The 1985-I pack launched yesterday on PSN and XBLA in North America and today on PSN in Europe, with frustration engine Ghosts 'n' Goblins, vertically scrolling Old West shmup Gun.Smoke and 8-way shooter Section Z. We still don't know why there's a period in "Gun.Smoke" – well, beyond avoiding copyright issues with the TV show. The pack costs $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. Concurrent with its release, the games from last week's pack (1943 and Avengers [not those Avengers]) are available as individual purchases, for $3.99 each. Check Capcom-Unity for a chance to win a FightStick with custom art for this week's games.

Capcom's forthcoming Capcom Arcade Cabinet platform for XBLA and PSN is officially coming stateside, the company has just announced. While further details regarding pricing, release dates and the platform's complete catalogue of games are being withheld until February 7, Capcom did confirm that Black Tiger will be part of the US release, as it is in Japan.Assuming that Capcom Arcade Cabinet's business model for the states is the same as it is in Japan, however, there are some inferences that we can make. The XBLA/PSN app itself will likely be free and include one game (probably Black Tiger), though that hasn't been officially announced as of yet. As far as games that aren't Black Tiger, we're assuming they'll either be sold individually or in packs, but we won't know for sure until February.

Information out of the latest issue of Famitsu reveals Capcom Arcade Cabinet, a downloadable PS3/Xbox app through which Capcom arcade games will be sold. The app itself will be free, and includes a starter pack with one free game, producer Kenji Kataoka told Famitsu. The only game specifically announced is Black Tiger, a side-scrolling action game from 1987 (and immediate proof that the app is worthwhile). Beyond pure arcade gameplay, Capcom Arcade Cabinet also includes "several modes" to adjust difficulty. "For example, you can adjust the strength of your attacks, the range of collision detection, and so forth," Kataoka said, as translated by Polygon. "This allows you to engage in training, and we've got support for turbo buttons and arcade sticks as well. I was able to use these functions to reach the ending on pretty much all of the games [we have planned], so they're great for people who were annoyed they couldn't beat them back then."Capcom Arcade Cabinet is due to be announced in full on February 7.
