When "Joe," our favorite bloggin' anesthesiologist, sat down for his daily Twitter session (he takes social media very seriously) he couldn't get past the fact that Apple's hardware iPad keyboard was oriented in portrait mode. Pretty weak, right? Well, fear not, iPad users! It seems that your basic dock extender cable will let you attach the keyboard and orient the screen however you desire. Now all of you proud iPad users can get back to worrying about things like protecting your phalanges and Flavor Flav wannabes.

Your Dock connector equipped iPod is probably one of your prized possessions. You don't want it to get all scratched up when you toss it in your bag, but who wants the hassle of taking it out of its case when you want to play your sweet jams via an iPod Hi-Fi? That's where the SendStation Dock Extender comes in.This little doohickey clicks onto your iPod's Dock Connector with a plug that has the same proportions as Apple's Dock cable. It extends the Dock connector so you can plug your iPod into any Dock Connector ready accessory without having to take it out of its case. The Dock Extender ships tomorrow for $28.95, which seems a little steep for me.Thanks, Justin.

If the idea of breaking out the soldering iron just to extend your iPod dock connector a few inches doesn't sound appealing, the SendStation folks have a new hack-free Dock Extender product that should fill your needs without any of that nasty "work" stuff getting in the way. Unfortunately, the only purpose of this thing is to let you dock your iPod without removing its case -- a worthy cause, indeed, but not quite as exciting as the prospect of waving around a cable-attached iPod around willy nilly. No word on price or when SendStation will have this thing ready, but you can sign up for notification at their site, and it'll probably be hitting for $15-$20 if other products are any indication.[Thanks, JT]
