Looks like smartwatches aren't going away anytime soon, and may actually be coming back to haunt our wrists. With companies like Google, Samsung, Apple and Qualcomm all launching new devices (or at least some software and hardware updates), interest in the category is clearly on the rise again.
Huawei reveals two new smartwatches for the ladies
It might be thick, but Huawei's Watch is still arguably the classiest-looking bit of Android Wear wristcandy out there. Still, device makers are starting to realize that yes, women might want to wear these things too, which is why Huawei just unveiled two Watch models: the $499 Huawei Watch Elegant and the $599 Watch Jewel. Yes, those are their actual names. No, we don't know what Huawei was thinking.
Huawei's first smartwatch finally goes on sale in the UK
It's taken a while, but companies are finally getting better at smartwatch design. Following the original Moto 360, we're starting to see some stylish Android Wear devices, like the long-awaited Huawei Watch. We first clapped eyes on this circular timepiece at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, more than eight months ago. Why it's taken so long to arrive in the UK is anyone's guess, but anyway -- starting today, you can order one from vMall and select Selfridges stores. That premium design will cost you though -- the Huawei Watch starts at £289 for a silver model with a leather band. You'll pay extra for the ceramic black model and the price climbs higher if you prefer a dressier link or mesh strap. Finally, Wareable reports that the rose gold model will set you back an eye-watering £599.
Huawei Watch will reach American wrists starting September 17th
Huawei's upmarket take on an Android Wear watch has been a long time coming; we first saw it back in Barcelona at MWC shortly before the Chinese company stopped talking about it completely. Well, it just ended its vow of silence to confirm you can buy one of your own starting on September 17th (though if you're a little too eager, you can pre-order one now).

Huawei aims high with $800 gold-plated Watch
Huawei may have accidentally revealed that its Android Wear Watch will cost as much as $799.99 and be compatible with iOS. Earlier today, the company teased a September 2nd arrival at IFA 2015 via Twitter, but a tipster pointed us to a legit-looking Amazon listing that shows four flavors of the wearable. The basic version in stainless steel starts at $349.99 with a leather strap, but the highest-end model in gold-plated stainless steel goes for $799.99, making it one of the pricier Android Wear devices out there. Intriguingly, the listing also mentions that the Watch is compatible with iOS 8.2 or later devices.
Huawei unveils its first Android Wear smartwatch (update: our hands-on!)
Huawei didn't just unveil one wrist-worn wearable today; it announced two. Huawei has just revealed its first-ever Android Wear device and, appropriately enough, it's called the Huawei Watch. As was teased and leaked over the past few days, the Watch looks to have a rather premium pedigree, with a circular display and a design that's more reminiscent of a luxury timepiece than a geeky smartwatch. Indeed, Huawei took pains to say that it modeled the watch after classic designs -- it even has an ergonomically placed crown on the top right. Boasting a sapphire crystal screen (the first Android Wear watch with such a display), the Watch is encased in a "cold-forged" scratch-resistant stainless steel housing, available in gold, silver and black. As for the size, Huawei told us that the watch is a compact 42mm, which is apparently friendlier to those with smaller wrists. It also has a standard 18mm lug width and you have the choice of either metal or leather straps.
Huawei teases a beautiful Android Wear watch using awkward videos
Huawei apparently just can't wait to show some of the wearable tech it has in store this year. While the company isn't supposed to reveal its Mobile World Congress plans until a press event on March 1st, it has already posted both videos and airport ads revealing its first Android Wear device, the plainly-titled Huawei Watch. You won't learn a huge amount from the clips, which are loaded with stiff-sounding English ("it has to look like a watch, because a watch is a watch..." wait, what?). However, it's already clear that Huawei is aiming for the upscale crowd with a sapphire-covered circular display, custom watch faces and oodles of metal and leather. The Watch is certainly one of the better-looking smartwatches we've seen, then. The real question is whether or not it does anything special under the hood -- you'll likely get the full scoop on that very shortly.
