The rumors were true: Michelle Yeoh is getting her own Star Trek spinoff show. CBS All Access has confirmed that Yeoh will star in a new streaming series that elaborates on her character Captain Georgiou's role in Starfleet's mysterious Section 31, which plays an important role in Discovery's second season. Most details are still forthcoming, but it'll be executive produced by a familiar team that includes Discovery veteran Alex Kurtzman as well as Rod Roddenberry.

CBS All Access' rapidly growing library of Star Trek shows might including one revolving around a familiar star. Deadline claims Star Trek: Discovery's Michelle Yeoh is talking about reprising her role as Captain Georgiou in a "stand-alone" All Access series. The project would reportedly be an extension of Georgiou's story from Discovery season two. CBS has declined to comment on the apparent leak.

Nicholas Meyer has let it slip that Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast of the upcoming CBS show Star Trek: Discovery. The show's consulting producer dropped the bombshell while talking to ComingSoon about the Blu-ray of his classic movie, Time After Time. While Meyer wouldn't confirm what role Yeoh had taken, it's entirely plausible that she's going to be the shows star, the as-yet unnamed "Number One."
