What has already been hinted at has finally been confirmed: Aqua Teen Hunger Force is getting a console game. This fall, the mooninites will be invading retail outlets with Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am. Billed as an "epic, action-adventure combat golf, cart racing game," ATHFZNP-A will pit players as the dynamic fast food trio, complete with weapons and golfing equipment, to face bad guys derived from the show.Licensed games, with some exceptions, generally fare badly in terms of quality. There is a glimmer of hope in that ATHF creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis will be "working closely" with Midway, but we're not getting our hopes up.The game is due out this fall on PlayStation 2. If there is any parallel to be drawn between the game and the movie, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres, however, some sensationalist event might cause the game to expand its horizons to newer generation consoles.

  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force, golfing (?) soon on a PS2 near you

Sure, it's a sad snafu that cost a few million dollars and some mass hysteria, but the Boston Mooninites bomb scare has done wonders for the Aqua Teen Hunger Franchise. The movie, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres has been pushed back to allow for a much wider release and now an upcoming PlayStation 2 game will surely sell a few extra copies because of the fiasco. In an interview with G4, Aqua Teen co-creator Dave Willis has described the title as "extreme combat golf," with Frylock being accepted at New Jersey course and Master Shake looking to destroy it. Also promised were violence, villains, and sawed-off shotguns. "Carl's gigantic crabs are lurking in the sandtraps," he said, "and the Brownie monsters, and obviously the Mooninites. It's sort of a racing, violent golf game."Though Willis and co-creator Matt Maiellaro tend to be coy and dishonest in interviews, it's all we have at this point. Truth be told, the extreme golf sounds fun. Whatever it may be, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force game is slated for release later this year, either in the summer or 3rd quarter, on the PlayStation 2.[Thanks, Tom Fronczak]

  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force viral ads cause Boston bomb scare

Oh, you viral marketers and tricksy Adult Swim promo squads, what've you done now? No longer content with offending parents and making the male aged 18-30 demo chortle with glee at their New Jersey debauchery, it would appear Aqua Teen crossed over into real life to wreak havoc promoting the upcoming ATHF movie. Geeky Lite-Brite-like visages of the Mooninites caused shut downs in several transit arteries in Boston, including Interstate 93, the Longfellow Bridge, and Storrow Drive, leaving thousands asking WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR FRICKIN' CAR?! Strangely, Turner stated that these viral ads have been in place in 10 major cities for between two and three weeks, which leaves one to wonder why no one noticed the strange, pixelated cartoon characters flipping the bird until just this afternoon, and just in Boston.[Thanks, Dan]Update: One's for sale on eBay! Thanks, everybody.

  • Adult Swim Fix finally works with Macintosh

TV Squad, our sister site, reports that Adult Swim Fix has finally achieved Mac friendliness. Adult Swim Fix, for those of you unfamiliar with the site, is a Cartoon Network broadband video site offering clips and full episodes of Adult Swim series. Not having a Mac, the poster Adam Finley couldn't test out the site. Poor man, he's stuck with a PC. So I headed on over to see what the site had to offer. It loaded without any trouble, and within a few seconds I was watching some obscure (at least I think it is obscure) Manga-style show named Trinity Blood. Just a click later, I loaded Tom Goes to the Mayor. Worked great. If you're an Adult Swim fan, pop on over and enjoy the new Macfriendlinessitude.

  • Video games in the Boondocks

Today's The Boondocks comic by Aaron McGruder deals with the trend of politicians going after video game developers and publishers. It's a great summary of the problem, simply rendered in comic strip form. Perhaps Jack Thompson will read this strip and it will change his life. We can hope, can't we?Let's hope they get tired of this soon, because the next step will be coming after parents for buying the games, and gamers for having the audacity to play 'em. Later, if you even look at a game, it could be a possible fine of up to $250 and one week of mandatory congressional aide duty.Stop the insanity before it goes too far.[Thanks, Ethan]

DethKlok, the fictional band in Adult Swim's Metalocalypse, have a song in the upcoming Guitar Hero II. The song, "Thunderhorse," will be an unlockable track "along with some other secret music from other bands," according to the official DethKlok MySpace page. That's right, the heaviest band in the world, with the fastest and second fastest guitarists to ever live, have allowed their rock to bleed into gaming consoles. What could the other hidden tracks be: Minus the Bear? (Doubtful.) Tenacious D? (If there's a Dio destined for Rock Heaven.) What do you want to see?Guitar Hero II will rock your socks off starting November 7.[Thanks, Brian]

Adult Swim, home to humorously absurd cartoons such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force, is the insomniacs haven. We happen to be huge fans of this part of Cartoon Network and ends up they are loving us right back. Adult Swim put out a commercial containing a list of things they are hyped and de-hyped about. Tenth on the list -- the Wii! As for not liking the Internet -- we shake our fist at you. The Internet is how we breathe so to not like it is about the same as kicking a kitten. Look for the video after the break! [Via Go Nintendo]

Alright, perhaps I was too hasty in judging the Marvel Ultimate Alliance screenshots the other day. I know, I know, gameplay over graphics. Judging from the trailer, Marvel looks to be a pretty good time. It's also a lot prettier in motion, and it doesn't hurt that Activision seems to be cramming in every Marvel character except The Kitchen Sink (who's totally underrated). Seriously, playing as Doctor Strange? That's Cool with a capital C. Now if they could just squeeze Doctor Orpheus in there...
