  • Half-Elf Tentacle Assault is -- gasp! -- canceled

Alas and alack! Team-DSX, the doujin developer behind Half-Elf Tentacle Assault has announced that it has canceled the homebrew hentai game. You'll have to get your half-elf-assaulting kicks elsewhere!According to media reports, the preparation committee behind comic convention Comiket -- where Team-DSX was expected to debut and sell the title -- declined the developer's registration for the event. The group has since taken down its official page and posted an apology for the cancellation at its blog.Presumably, the Comiket rejection was due to Team-DSX's publicization that the game's ROM requires a flashcart. In fact, the developer went so far as to distribute double-sided flyers promoting Half-Elf Tentacle Assault on one side and advertising an R4 distributor on the other. And so it goes, the lewd game has disappeared just as quickly and as quietly as it slithered into our lives, wrapping its slimy tendrils around our limbs and devastating our orifices, promising, "I'll call you sometime," before taking its leave. We'll spend a week waiting by the phone for that call, but we won't be surprised when it never comes.[Via Canned Dogs] Interested in "adult" homebrew games for the DS? Make sure to check out Naughtiness on the Nintendo DS ands its sequel, More Naughtiness on the Nintendo DS. We'd stop short of calling it inevitable, but we aren't shocked one bit to hear that on-demand porn has landed on VUDU's set-top-box. Adult Video Network (AVN) has developed a channel for VUDU which enables users to rent and purchase SD or HD films just like any other less explicit title. As expected, users would be asked to first "verify their age" and clear parental controls before anything on the channel could be viewed. Interested in pricing details? Try $6.99 / $19.99 for SD rentals / purchases and $8.99 / $29.99 for HD rentals / purchases.[Via CEPro]

Looking to satisfy the legions of perverts interested in its upcoming homebrew release, Half-Elf Tentacle Assault, doujin-developer Team-DSX has posted a potential design for the game's CD-ROM cover -- to cut down on costs, the group plans to release the ROM on CDs instead of traditional carts, so that customers can transfer the game to their flashcarts. The screenshots featured on the packaging give you a good idea of what to expect from the visual novel (if the Half-Elf Tentacle Assault name wasn't descriptive enough) and are, naturally, very NSFW. Even with stars and white spots covering all the naughty bits on the images, we've hidden the cover past the post break, away from chaste eyes.Just one last quick caution -- the boxart depicts half-elf Colin and another heroine in suggestive scenes of forced sodomy. Also, a green pig-man with killer abs has his head totally slashed off. You've been warned!See also: Naughtiness on the Nintendo DS, More Naughtiness on the Nintendo DS

  • New deal puts Digital Playground content on Hustler HD VOD

Two of the biggest names in the adult film industry have just signed a deal that could put rivals in a world of hurt. The "worldwide exclusive agreement" will seemingly enable Digital Playground content to be offered via Hustler TV's HD video-on-demand portal, and considering that a number of DP's films have already been shot entirely in high-def, there's a decent library of footage ready to get down. Reportedly, Hustler TV is already in 45 million homes in the US and can be seen in 50 countries worldwide, though the release didn't state when viewers could look forward to catching Pirates or Island Fever 3 at the press of a button.

We're not ones to peruse the seedy underbelly of the adult film industry (hard to believe, with us working on the internet and all), but this story is too much to pass up. Does the above cover remind you of anything? Well, if it doesn't, you probably never played the Japanese title Brain Training (also known as Brain Age). Look at the game's boxart. See what we mean?If you want to know more, you can check out Hikaru Wakana's blog (NSFW linkage), who is the film's star.

World of Warcraft attracts a variety of players from all demographics. Players face different sets of challenges based on where they are in real life. Students may face time crunches at some points that prohibit themselves from immersion in the game. Parents have many obligations that may pull themselves away from the keyboard with little to no warning. There are times when big projects at work require extra hours. Some may even go into labor in the middle of a battleground. Somehow, despite our divergent responsibilities, we all come together to enjoy WoW. Crothiuz of Lethon has found himself in the middle of an age-related struggle. Posting in the Guild Relations forum, he told a tale of how he was excluded from a raid because he was only fourteen years of age. He feels that he has carried himself in a mature manner and it is only his age that has precluded him from running Karazhan with his guild. He was then kicked from the guild while he was offline. The original poster is concerned that age will continue to be a factor in his online aspirations.

  • Homebrew returns just in time for WiiBrator

As soon as Nintendo released its anti-Twilight Hack patch in an attempt to stifle the Wii's homebrew scene, programmers set to work on finding vulnerabilities with the new firmware. They understood that there was more at stake than just homemade applications and games -- the very future of Wii teledildonics was at risk.Fortunately, an update re-enabling the Twilight Hack was put out just in time for Team DWiildo's WiiBrator release. We're sure you can figure out how it works. Of course, PC applications interfacing with the Wii remote have provided similar functions in the past, but this "advanced vibrator simulator" is actually run through Nintendo's console. We, uh, haven't tried out the technology demo ourselves, but it sounds like an excellent alternative to spending $50+ at the local Hustler shop for a buzzing piece of cheap, fluorescent-colored plastic. Team Dwiildo also has intriguing ideas for upcoming versions, including an image slideshow and online support for up to 32 players. Ambitious! If you decide to try out the WiiBrator program, Team Dwiildo suggests that you use the remote jacket for enhanced comfort. Also, they very much advise against using the application with either the Wii Zapper or Wii Wheel peripherals attached. See also: ShiatsuCube: Homebrew happy endings[Via DCEmu]

Just last week, we heard that Digital Playground was going true blue. Now it's going RED? Yes indeed, the adult film powerhouse has committed to using the 4k RED ONE camera to shoot its future films. Reportedly, the high-resolution camcorder has already been used to capture ten films in the past two months (staying busy, aren't we?), and apparently the results have been so, um, crystal clear, that the outfit is planning to continue using them. Talk about staying one step ahead of the curves.

It goes without saying that porn studio Digital Playground does blue, but it has now upped its own Blu ante by committing to simultaneous Blu-ray and DVD release of all new titles. Further, the studio promises to re-release at least one library title on Blu-ray each week. Digital Playground isn't just playing catch-up, either -- as of next week, it will have 21 Blu-ray titles, three times more than any other adult video studio. We only wish the major studios would step up to the plate with similar plans for both new and library titles. Sure, we know that porn releases aren't known for their production values, but still, the majors should be able to match this effort. [Warning - read link contains NSFW banner.][Via Gearlog]

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Naughtiness_on_the_DS_Pornographic_homebrew'; If there's one thing we love to cover, it's mature games for immature gamers. Unfortunately, adult games for the Nintendo DS are rare, especially in the US -- some publishers have even made sure to censor the most trivial details in its games to protect our eyes and innocence, lest they suffer the wrath of parental watchdog groups.Homebrew developers, however, have no such concerns, and have released pornographic projects that no commercial game could ever get away with. We've previewed five of these homemade releases, even providing you with screenshots; the naughty bits are blurred out, of course, but the images are still very much NSFW. Brush your teeth, clip your fingernails, and get down to business past the post break. Oh yeah, it's business time.

Hold onto your trousers folks, as ITI Neovision's quizzically named N is bringing HD porn to Polish subscribers anytime they want. The service, which is thought to be the first of its kind in Europe, enables customers to select, purchase and view 1080i XXX-rated titles on-demand. According to a local, the first two flicks to surface are Sensual Dolls and Born To Be Sexy, both of which sound like surefire winners if that's what you're into. No word on how pricey each selection will be, but feel free to test the service out and let us know how it shapes up if you're so bold.[Thanks, Arsenal]

  • BBFC briefly noted 'suicide' and 'implied child rape' in MGS4

    04.23.2008

While you won't find any mention of it in the current rating page, the eagle-eyed spies over at Eurogamer noticed an eye-opening description of "references to suicide and an implied child rape" in a summary of Metal Gear Solid 4 briefly posted on the BBFC site (this summary was likely the Extended Classification Information, which is not supposed to be posted more than 10 days before a game is released). Before you get excited, note that Kojima Productions' Ryan Payton told Kotaku that "there is no mention of rape in the game" and that the BBFC's confusion may have come from a mention of "child trauma."Regardless of the specifics behind the disturbing description, the BBFC still granted the game a relatively tame 15 rating for violence that "may be strong but may not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury during gameplay." The fact that it's possible to "progress stealthily through the game, avoiding violent confrontations where possible" seemed to weigh heavily on the decision. Hey, you can do that in the 18-rated Grand Theft Auto games too! Well, OK, you can't really advance that way, but you could avoid violence by driving a cab all day.

  • Digital Playground thrilled with Blu-ray adoption rate, seeks to add BD-Live this year

Although adult film powerhouse Digital Playground originally supported HD DVD, ended up format agnostic and finally chose Blu-ray (on its own will, mind you), it's safe to say its founder is quite happy with how the merry-go-round has played out. According to head honcho Joone, "Blu-ray sales [of its productions] are growing every month," and most interestingly, he's "seeing consumers accept Blu-ray much faster than they accepted DVD." In the end, he feels that BD winning out will be best for his firm, as the extra 20GB gives the studio a lot more breathing room to flesh out, so to speak, titles. Potentially most intriguing, however, was Joone's assertion that Digital Playground will be adding BD-Live features to its material towards the end of this year -- no, we aren't even going to guess what that addition could hold, but we won't attempt to stop you from letting your mind wander.

With over 10 million people enjoying World of Warcraft every day, there are many different sub cultures that have sprung up in the game. There are guilds based on religious fundamentals, democratic principals, corporate structure, and any other type of social grouping and cause you can think of. One of the more interesting social phenomena that has popped up is the adult orientated content.Of course this content is not produced by Blizzard, and based on legal action mentioned in the article, they don't want their name attached to this content. And that is completely within their right to do so. In fact, it's a smart move for a company that wants to encourage people of all ages to play their games. However, Blizzard's objections to the subject matter have not stopped adult film producer Dez from talking with the Village Voice's Bonnie Ruberg about his film series.Read on after the break for a review of the interview and further thoughts.

  • Is it time for age restricted servers?

    by

    02.09.2008

Anyone who has been playing WoW for a bit knows that this game is unique in that both adults and children can enjoy it at the same time. Indeed this duality can be considered one of the best features of the game. How often can you sit down with your son or daughter and truly enjoy the same video game? Besides the amazing adventures of Dora The Explorer, other kid friendly games like Disney Online's Toon Town and Club Penguin just don't provide the same level of enjoyment for adults and their children. (What's the game in Dora, you ask? Assisting her in finding the red berries or yelling at Swiper. See this not-safe-for-work Kevin Smith YouTube excerpt for an explanation.)However with that in mind, there are some compelling arguments that its due time for World of Warcraft to get a few age restricted servers. For starters, take a look at what Second Life has done. They're a pretty successful venture, and have a lot of parallels to MMORPGS like WoW. They've created a server called Teen Second Life in which they do their best to only allow teenagers between the ages of 13 – 17 access. When you turn 18 you're moved up to the adult server along with all your gear and property. Of course this has the same pitfalls as any other internet site where you can fake your identity, but it is a start; and a good one since Linden Labs actively polices age restrictions.

Created in one day with softcore images of naked women "shamelessly stolen from the teh intarnets," Mammary Advance is a homebrew Memory game for the GBA in which you flip two cards to literally match a pair. Interestingly, you're tasked with matching photos of left and right breasts instead of two identical images. This twist adds a lot more challenge to the simple game than you'd expect! The sexual objectification in Mammary Advance is inescapable -- the only female faces you'll ever see are in the title and developer screens -- and we're, once again, left wondering why we can't have any sophisticated erotic games for our handhelds, but it's amusing to see that these immature releases didn't disappear with the rise of easily-accessible hardcore pornography on the internet.See also: Naughtiness on the Nintendo DS[Via Dev-fr]

It took 'em awhile, but sure enough, Penthouse is forging ahead into the HD marketplace in a big way. If you'll recall, Playboy made a move of its own last year, but now New Frontier Media is announcing the launch of the "first ever US adult VOD [channel] in high-definition" with PenthouseHD. Reportedly, the SD service (PenthouseTV) will be available to some nine million American households, while the HD counterpart is available to over two million homes. Interestingly, we're not told exactly what carriers are offering it, but those interested can certainly call up their EPG (or respective provider) to get the low-down. [Via BroadcastingCable]

  • AgeLock: age verification by residents, for residents

    by
    Akela Talamasca
    Akela Talamasca
    11.05.2007

I will assume, for the sake of this article, that you know nothing about the age verification issues Second Life has undergone. It's thorny, and Linden Lab's system still isn't in place, despite how gung-ho they were about getting it up and running pretty much post-haste. In the meantime, a group of residents have been quietly working on a homebrew system called AgeLock, and while there's a full description of the way it works on the referring site, the best part of the site's description is this: 'How does this system prevent children from accessing adult content? It doesn't. It won't. It can't. As parents ourselves, we really do care about the importance of protecting children but this is not about protecting children this time. In this instance, our goal is to provide a sense of security for the adult community.'And there you have it, the heart of the matter. There are without a doubt, non-adult residents with accounts on SL. There is no foolproof way to prevent someone who shouldn't be on the Main Grid from nevertheless creating an account for themselves. The AgeLock system at the very least protects an adult sim's owner from liability issues. This is a step in the right direction; whether or not Linden Lab works off of this remains to be seen.(Thanks, Allana!)

  • Revolutionary: This Revolution Hasn't Been Televised

Every Tuesday, Mike Sylvester brings you REVOLUTIONARY, a look at the wide world of Wii possibilities. Thought of by many as the "Disney of video gaming," Nintendo has crafted themselves an image of family-friendly entertainment. But to certain generations and classes of gamers, the term "family-friendly" is synonymous with "kiddy," and immediately sparks disinterest. But ever since publishing Rare's Killer Instinct, they've been working on broadening the public's perspective. Trying to appeal to the bloodlust of the Mortal Kombat crowd didn't give them any headway, and as generations progressed and they've garnered more "mature-themed" titles, they still haven't been able to shake the "kiddy console" stigma. Even after snagging the exclusivity to the Resident Evil series for a generation, Nintendo was largely overlooked by the Playstation-bred gamers that were brought up on the series. How much more will it take for Wii to be regarded as a platform that can satisfy the tastes of mature gamers?
