  • Gravity Ghost swirls through Steam's solar system today

Ivy Games' Gravity Ghost is on Steam today for PC, Mac and Linux for $15, a reasonable price for a trip through the stars. Plus, it's two-for-one, forever – pay $15 on Steam, get two game codes. "Why?" Gravity Ghost Designer Erin Robinson asks in an email. "I'm encouraging everyone to give that second copy to someone special in their life who doesn't play video games. My hope is that it will open the door to this amazing hobby and allow people to share that joy with their loved ones." Gravity Ghost is a physics puzzler with a twist (or a twirl): Players soar around planets, using gravitational pull to gain momentum, alter direction and collect pieces of a shattered galaxy. There's no "fail" state, though there is a rich story with hints of darkness, plus voice acting by Ashly Burch (Borderlands 2), Logan Cunningham (Bastion) and Sarah Elmaleh (Gone Home). The soundtrack comes from FTL composer Ben Prunty. See the story trailer after the break. • Amazon offering Buy One, Get One Free sale, other discounted titles

Even though there's currently all the sunshine you can grab for free outside, Amazon is offering up a big Buy One Get One Free sale on video games, earning you two different titles for the price of one. There are some clunkers in there (and a few of the titles are sold out), so you might have to pick and choose a little bit, bargain-bin style. But there are still some good deals to be had, including Fear 2: Project Origin, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Lost Planet 2, Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions, and Sin & Punishment: Star Successor all free when you buy another one. The online retailer also just posted its new Video Games Deals of the week, Duke Nukem Forever for $38, Hunted: The Demon's Forge for $40, the Wii's Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident for only $15 and more. Just one request: Once you order as many as your wallet will allow, please do get at least a couple of breaths of fresh air.

  • Buy Fallen Earth and get double the apocalypse

How do you double the end of the world? It seems kind of final. But there's apparently a way to do just that -- specifically, by purchasing a copy of Fallen Earth from the official store before January 13th. No, it doesn't make the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the game any more apocalyptic, but it does mean that you can get a free copy for a friend to buddy up alongside you for the low price of just $14.99. The limited-time offer drops the price of each copy below eight dollars while simultaneously giving players a free month of game time. And the recipient of the free copy receives all the same perks, including the special in-game item (either an ATV or a very fetching hat). So if you've been itching to try out Fallen Earth and want to have someone at your back while you explore the wasteland, now is the perfect opportunity.

  • HTC HD7 greets Black Friday with a Buy One Get One Free offer from T-Mobile

Been feeling blue this holiday season? Finding all the special offer WP7 phones a little too little? Fear not, T-Mobile and Microsoft are ready to give you a pair of HD7s for the price of one next time you drop into one of the Magenta stores asking about Windows Phone 7 devices. You'll need to commit to the usual two-year contract and whatnot, but it's a straight up BOGO on what's probably the most desirable handset sporting Microsoft's new OS on the American market. Then again, even with this discount, you still might be able to find the HD7 cheaper at online retailers, so as per usual on Black Fridays, we'd advise doing your due diligence before letting your dead presidents out for a walk. And please, try not to think of how sweet a day this could have been if Dell's Venue Pro had actually been released on schedule. [Thanks, David]

  • Verizon sweetens Samsung Fascinate deal with Buy One Get One Free offer

Yes, that fateful day is upon us, the Samsung Fascinate has made its debut on Verizon's online store pages, and it's arrived with a quite unusual (for a top tier handset) sweetener. When buying one Fascinate, you're given the option to obtain a second one for free. Well, the hardware would be free, you'd need two-year commitments on both phones with a minimum monthly data plan of $29.99 a piece, but it's still the nicest thing Verizon's done for us since it started throwing out free Pixi Pluses with purchases of Palm's webOS handsets. You should also bear in mind your initial outlay here is a quite lofty $400, with two separate $100 mail-in rebates bringing the cost down. So it's free in pecuniary terms, but probably not free of headaches. [Thanks, Mike]

As expected, Apple has sent out a quick reminder that the annual discount offer for college students -- buy a new Mac, get a free iPod touch -- is expiring September 7. While this date was expected to coincide with the rock & roll introduction event, we now know that the big shindig will be taking place next Tuesday Wednesday, September 1. Got some money burning a hole in your pocket? Are you, or do you know a college student? Time for that new Mac, but it's running out.

  • Verizon's Android BOGO flier shows up, Droid Eris only free option

So the good news here is that Verizon's rumored buy-one-get-one-free deal on its Android line this weekend is shaping up to be legit -- the bad news, though, is that the most expensive (and probably most desirable) option is getting left out in the cold. Well, that's not quite true -- you'll still be able to take part in the offer if you buy a Droid, but for your free phone on the second line, you'll be stuck with a Droid Eris from HTC -- a phone that normally runs $100 instead of the Droid's $200. Of course, the Droid Eris is still a great little device, and as for Verizon, don't worry about them -- they'll get their money back. Trust us.
