(Viewers be warned that this video contains plenty of bleeped language and some innuendo.)Have you ever thought about what would happen if real life worked like World of Warcraft? The Fark.tv crew put that to the test in their sketch comedy, World of Wifecraft. We particularly enjoyed the reference to the legend that is Leeroy Jenkins. When the wives get fed up with their WoW playing ways, they bring their husbands to a special doctor, who tells them to "level up" with their spouses. However, the guys soon discover that it's not so easy to win their way back into the hearts of their significant others. Will they complete their quests and get to level 40, or will they realize that they are no match for their level 70 wives?[Thanks, Drewbie!]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

You've seen the prison version of Michael Jackson's Thriller, but have you seen the old Second Life version? We're digging into the archives again to bring you a YouTube favorite. SL videos rarely break 100,000 views, but this one has managed to amass almost 225,000 in just over two years. This video was made before the popularity of machinima in SL. It required a handful of actors, multiple scripters, an animator, as well as custom skins and costumes. It was preserved as part of an early collection of works from residents by stampshady Grimm, who went on to work on the wildly successful DiVAS series. If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Cecil Hirvi created this machinima, Elegantly Forbidden: Hosoi Ichiba, to illustrate the lives of the residents of Hosoi Ichiba in Second Life. Through their normal activities, such as fishing and walking around the village, and with the help of haikus, he effectively captures the emotions that they're feeling. To us, this seems like a story of love that can never be. As for the video itself, Cecil does a great job of utilizing SL's features, including Windlight and bloom, to enhance his work.If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Oxhorn is back with another wonderful machinima, An Oxhorn Brand Medley. He combined quotes and songs from his other popular works with a tune whipped up by Nathan Allen Pinard to set the tone for his latest work. In typical Oxhorn fashion, you can find the script, music, and other tidbits about the movie on his website. A wise man once said, "LOLOMGWTGDAIRYQUEEN LOLOMGBBTHEQ." We couldn't agree more! As you sing along to the chorus, try to see how many scenes and characters you can recognize. This blogger only has eyes for Hat, the singing turtle, though. If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

The Dual Sun Brigands, one of the oldest and largest guilds on the Bria server, have created a cinematic gameplay video in Star Wars Galaxies. As evidenced in the machinima, they enjoy roleplaying as space pirates. When they decided to make a guild recruitment video, Vinzer Flinn threw together some of their in-game footage, as well as some scenes with modded materials. They were able to highlight some of the more exciting aspects of SWG, including many battles and even some cantina action![Thanks, Carver!]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Bonkkyu Bonetto created this machinima, which, according to Google Translate, comes out roughly titled, "SL beans Hall's promotional style animated movie OP." Regardless of what the title is, the video itself is quite fascinating. It is styled like an animated program, complete with beginning character introductions, action sequences, split screens, and more. Most Second Life machinimas simply try to emulate real movies, so something that is cartoon or anime-like is a special treat.[Thanks, Toirdealbach!]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

In 2006, Douglas Gayeton, of Millions of Us, ventured into the virtual world of Second Life as Molotov Alva. Here and there, he made a few friends, and documented the entire process. When he looked back, he had hundreds of hours of footage and began to sift through it to weave a story. After completing it, he posted it to YouTube, where HBO executives took notice, finally premiering it last night on Cinemax.com.Molotov Alva and His Search for the Creator: A Second Life Odyssey is about a man that gives up his real life to escape in a virtual one. With new friend, Orhalla Zander, by his side, they venture forth in a search to meet the Creator of this magical place they're in. Along the way, he is tempted into griefing, tries out relationships, and learns a lot about himself in the process.[Via Cinemax]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them. Current TV viewer and contributor, Vasilis Siskos, created this look into the virtual economy of Second Life. Curious as to whether the real life recession trickled down into the virtual world, he asked some experts, including Robert Bloomfield, of Metanomics, John Zdanowski, or Zee Linden, the CFO of Linden Lab, and Alliez Mysterio, of d'Alliez Estates. They had some interesting insight on the situation, but ultimately felt that it wouldn't be a problem, as crafty residents would find what worked better next and adapt.[Thanks, Kai!]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

With the sheer number of World of Warcraft machinimas produced daily, it's not hard for a talented up and comer to stay under the radar. Such was the case with Gnomechewer, who never received a recommendation from Warcraftmovies, yet captured the typically hostile audience of our sister site, WoW Insider. In the last 15 months, he's made 21 films, ranging from silly to quite stellar. One of his semi-recent films, Super Duper Ultimate Extreme Edition, is an excellent example of model-viewing done right. The background music, by Notorious B.I.G., only adds to the ambiance of the environment. SDUEE has all of the action, adventure, and excitement that you need from a WoW machinima. Gnomechewer will be the machinimator to watch in 2008!If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

VirtualVikki made this video, Lost in There Quest Commercial, for ThereCon last year. Taking place in July 2007, it was a week of science fiction events and activities in the virtual world, There. In order to motivate the viewers, she created this parody of Lost in Space. There is an interesting platform for machinima. They have a limited range of motions and customization, but they do have lip-synching ability built in to their voice system. The result is a bit more cartoony than Second Life, so it appeals more to the teen demographic. Many companies are doing interesting things in the platform, though, so we'll keeping our eye on it!If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Today's Cinemassively is straight from the archives of 2006! Back then, an artist named Jonathan Coulton was cranking out a song a week as a form of self-promotion. Among the songs was this little ditty about a coworker gone zombie with some not so reasonable demands.Re: Your Brains, in World of Warcraft machinima form, is a hilarious take on zombies calmly requesting brains, instead of just rushing to get them. Created by Spiffworld, it was his first of many JoCo videos, racking up 1.6 million views so far![Thanks, Korrak!]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

(Please note that this machinima contains some harsh language. In addition, machinima.com is down at this moment, but you can find a higher quality stream of the video there.)In November, we spoke of a hybrid machinima movement that involved blending one engine with multiple tools in order to create a finished product. Baron Soosdon has been an early adopter of this, as he normally blends World of Warcraft with Unreal Tournament, as well as WoW Model and Map Viewers.Baron's latest project, Kake Buk Island: Episode 1 - "You Damn Beach" is a comedy adventure that is part action, part thriller, and part ... Rick Astley? The movie is about an orc that wakes up on an island and encounters two girls whose pig he must rescue from a sinister villain. While the voice acting is pretty horrible, the visual quality of the two mediums is excellent. We look forward to the sequel! If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

The film is based on a quest in the Eastern Plaguelands, where a young girl, Pamela, is wandering the land looking for her family. Firebolt productions, previously known for their second place win in the Warcraftmovies Christmas Spirit Contest for Ugly Goblin's Christmas, did an amazing job adapting the quest into a stunning storyline. Even the cast and crew lineup is impressive![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Iron Man is kicking butt both in the theater and in the virtual world of Second Life. The Warner Brothers Reitz-Lang (Sorry, Jason!) machinima team in charge of the Gossip Girl set took some time out of their busy schedule to enter the Silverscreen Iron Man Fan-Art Contest. They chose a humorous and silly approach to the video, but all professional. Everything about this video, including the lipsynching, the falling scene, and the way the bad guy was saved, makes us drool. We previously featured their initial effort in SL, UES Insider, but had some serious criticism about it, and they've improved 100%! We can't wait to see what kind of trouble Gossip Girl will write about next, and when it will premiere. Don't leave us hanging![Thanks, Jason!]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Once the Daily Show found out, it was open season for Second Life. After John Stewart mocked poor Glitteractica, Robert Bloomfield, aka Beyers Sellers, had her on his show, Metanomics, on the SL Cable Network. While there, he issued a challenge to the man whom he felt was John's little brother, Stephen Colbert. Yesterday, the judges, including Codebastard Redgrave and Tao Takashi, gathered to announce the winners of the contest. They picked two winners by jury, and the other was selected by the community. The Community Award went to a video, The Little Newbie, by Alienhearts. We previously featured the work of this talented machinimator back in November, with the first, and only, episode of NooB. The video highlights a moment we've all had in SL where we create something we think is beautiful, but turns out to be not so great. Several months ago, we featured a golf lesson being given by MarkTwain White in Second Life. Golf is hardly a new phenomenon, as it is enjoyed by many residents of the virtual world. They've even expanded their course offerings, allowing for housing and varying scenery! The Holly Kai Golf Club plans to take their SL success even further, though, by pitching a pilot program to the Second Life Cable Network (SLCN). From the looks of it, they'll be filming their tournaments monthly and showing highlights from the events. With the right announcer, this could be a winner. Judging by their future expansion, residents seem to agree! If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.
