Wannabe screenwriters: Maybe don't tweet your movie idea

If Twitter existed in the '70s and Sylvester Stallone used it, he may have ended up a nobody while someone like Burt Reynolds starred in Rocky. A judge dismissed a lawsuit by little-known actor Jarrett Alexander, over an idea he tweeted to Stallone in 2012 about the concept for a movie he called Creed. However, the court ruled there's no proof Stallone or director Ryan Coogler ever saw the tweets, and even if they did, never agreed to anything with Alexander.

Somehow, season four of House of Cards arriving this week doesn't feel like that big of a deal. Beyond Netflix's flagship series, we're looking forward to a number of big releases, including the first big slew of Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. Some of the better movies of the 4K and HDR-mastered bunch include multiple Oscar-winner Mad Max: Fury Road and Sicario. Unfortunately, for other Academy Award-caliber flicks like Creed, The Room and The Danish Girl, 1080p will have to do (for now). This is also the final week for Discovery's Mythbusters, which airs its series finale Saturday night. Last but not least, Nintendo is dropping a remastered version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in HD on the Wii U Friday. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

The World of Warcraft is an expansive universe. You're playing the game, you're fighting the bosses, you know the how -- but do you know the why? Each week, Matthew Rossi and Anne Stickney make sure you Know Your Lore by covering the history of the story behind World of Warcraft. While we've been busy putting Cho'gall in his place, dealing with Nefarian, and otherwise addressing Elemental Lords Al'Akir and Ragnaros, the rest of Azeroth has been busy in its own way. Players wandering through the Badlands are taken along on quests to help the red dragon Rheastrasza perform a bit of important research on the black dragons. Though at first it seems as though Rhea's work is mundane, her ultimate plans are soon revealed. Rheastrasza is attempting to find one purified, untainted black dragon egg. And she's successful, but the egg is in immediate danger. Deathwing doesn't want this egg to exist, and he'll do anything to get rid of it. The egg has been shuffled around constantly, hidden from Deathwing's sight -- a faint shred of hope in the post-Cataclysm world. ... unfortunately, nobody bothered asking the egg's opinion on the subject. Today's Know Your Lore contains spoilers for the rogue legendary quest line.

  • Harmonix polling fan interest in future Rock Band titles

How do you feel about Led Zeppelin getting their own Rock Band title? Maybe you'd be happier with Pink Floyd or The Eagles? Perhaps U2? Yeah, none of those sound particularly enthralling to us either. Thankfully, Harmonix gave us the option to write in our own choice (Flock of Seagulls, duh!) for a possible future artist-specific Rock Band title via a recent poll offered on the developer's forums. Not interested in more one-group/artist RB titles? That's also an option! Harmonix explains the poll as a way to interact with its community and solicit fan response to future titles that are being considered. "With the release of Green Day: Rock Band just a few days away, we wanted to take the opportunity to ask all of you to tell us about which other artists you might want to see as the focus of future artist specific games." As you might imagine, though, the company says it's not planning on making any of these games for sure just yet. "This survey isn't a guarantee that Harmonix is going to make games based on any of these bands, but community feedback is and always has been absolutely invaluable to us in determining our focus within the world of Rock Band as we move forward." We're holding out hope that a group of hardcore Scott Stapp fans aren't secretly plotting to overwhelm the poll with requests for Creed: Rock Band. [Via Blast Magazine]

Ubisoft officially announced yesterday that it would be bringing Assassin's Creed to the PS3 in 2007. The game, which is set during 1191 AD amidst the third holy crusade, is being developed by Ubi's Montreal Studio, who're responsible for the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia franchises. Stating that the game will "captivate audiences and affect them on the same level as an epic novel or film," Yannis Mallat, Ubisoft's Montreal Studios' chief executive officer, seems confident that gamers will receive this title with open arms. Ubisoft's chief executive officer, Serge Hascoet, commented "Our goal to introduce three new brands into the marketplace every two years is working. With Assassin’s Creed we’re introducing a franchise that will establish itself as the must-have next-generation game for the next-generation gamer.” A trailer for the game can be viewed/downloaded at the official site here.
