Capcom announced Dead Rising 3 at Microsoft's E3 press conference, and the game is coming this holiday as an Xbox One exclusive. Nick Ramos is the new protagonist enduring another massive zombie outbreak. As per the series' ethos, Nick used a variety of weaponry in the showcased DR3 gameplay video, including a wrench, a tactical handgun, his bare fists, and maybe most memorably a slegehammer-chainsaw hybrid. Capcom revealed DR3 will also feature SmartGlass integration, with Nick using it in the gameplay demo to call in artillery support to create a sizzling zombie BBQ. Capcom also promised "no load times" for DR3's open world. Update: We've added in a trailer. Meanwhile, Microsoft noted on its Wire service DR3 features Kinect integration.

Dead Rising 3 makes an appearance on the LinkedIn resume of a rigging supervisor at Blur animation studio, spotted by All Games Beta. Specifically, the rigging supervisor lists work on a game cinematic for Dead Rising 3, as demonstrated in the above screencap.Near the end of 2011, we heard a rumor that Dead Rising 3 was a thing, and that it would star an auto mechanic named Rick in Los Perdidos, California. It would feature illegal, infected citizens, a bomb set to destroy the town and a defunct plane as Rick's only hope of survival. As other zombie stories about a dude named Rick have become insanely popular over the past year, we wouldn't be surprised if this character's name were changed, considering any of this information holds up.We also won't be surprised when that lead character is replaced by Frank West in the inevitable re-imagining of Dead Rising 3.

Siliconera says a source provided detailed information on the unannounced Dead Rising 3. According to this informant, it will star an auto mechanic named Rick, who is trying to rebuild a plane in order to escape from the zombie-infected Los Perdidos, California, before a bomb destroys the town. The purported game will feature a theme of illegal immigration, the source claims. An "underground" group of infected people avoid government registration, becoming "illegal" citizens. Another, more familiar theme will also be present: that of how hilarious and awesome it is to kill zombies with random items, as evidenced by the presence of a character whose motorcycle has a steamroller attached. Capcom's only comment on the issue has been to tell Shacknews it's "made no announcements" regarding Dead Rising 3. It also hasn't announced anything regarding the inevitable re-release starring Frank West.
