So you love buying video games, but that feeling inside your wallet afterwards makes you want to cry a little? You're not alone. What you are afflicted with is a common disease called Retrospective Consumption Ensaddenment. Luckily for you, we have the cure. Deals! It seems Target (and Amazon) are pulling out the stops to offer you some great deals this coming week. Curious?Well, first off, Target will give you a $10 gift card whenever you purchase any of these games. They've got the Rock Band Special Edition for $149 -- which is $10 cheaper than Amazon's deal. Finally, for those who don't own a PS3 yet because of the price, you can nab a $40 gift card with the purchase of a 40GB PS3. Sure gift cards aren't exactly cash off of games, but if you need a video game and some blankets/groceries/picture frames, two different transactions and a few minutes later you'll be glad you took advantage of these deals.

  • Deal of the Day: Stranglehold Collector's Edition for $30

    02.15.2008

Over at amazon.com, the price for Stranglehold Collector's Edition has been lower down to a measly $29.99. That's a savings of ten bucks from the last price drop. Oddly enough, the regular version of Stranglehold is still priced at the loftier $39.99. Doesn't really make much sense, but who cares? It's a deal! Stranglehold has seen an almost countless number of price drops since its release. Who wants to bet when this baby'll drop down to $20. At that point, you're paying for a movie and getting a game for free. [Via CAG]

It's been a while since amazon.com has assaulted our wallets with a Blu-ray sale. Unfortunately, it looks like they're up to their money-draining schemes again. This Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal isn't as sweet as their holiday BOGO offers, but for those that are newly building their Blu-ray collection, this will certainly fit the bill. Buyers should be confident knowing that Blu-ray is the format of the future. Heck, both Netflix and Best Buy agree. Our recommendations from this sale? Pick up Blade Runner (Five-Disc Complete Collector's Edition) for $28. Or, one of the Harry Potter movies.[Via Slickdeals.net]

It's been hard to see really arcadey sports games take off. Remember the good ol' days when dunking a basketball would make the ball catch on fire, and an announcer would say "boom shaka laka"? Well, we do.The Bigs takes you back to this foregone era, in its interpretation of baseball. You'll get to destroy a virtually recreated Times Square in its homerun derby, and yes, you'll be able to make your homerun catch on fire. That's what we need.amazon.com currently has the game on sale for $20.[Via SlickDeals]

This M-rated PSP-exclusive action game is now available for only $15 at amazon.com and GameStop. Most likely, the game's rather subdued release caused it go under most everyone's radar. It's a game that's filled with personality, even if the gameplay isn't as refined as we'd like. As a daring experiment for PSP, this may be worth your while, especially at such a low price.[Via CAG]

This is an unbelievable deal. We're not going to beat around the bush, but getting one of the best shows on TV in high-definition for $40 isn't something to snub your nose at. Seriously -- if you can deny buying a show you enjoy (assuming you enjoy it) at a 59% discount, you've definitely got some penny-pinching issues to iron out. Whether it's a mistype on Amazon's part or simply an amazing deal, take advantage while you can![Via Slickdeals.net]

Once again, the $35 Memory Stick returns! For some reason, Memory Stick prices have refused to drop any further. Thankfully, FRYS.com is making it a bit easier to get a large Memory Stick. Considering you can now download PS1 games, full PSP games and more on the PLAYSTATION Store, it seems like most everyone will want to upgrade. We're quite pleased with the amount of music, videos and demos the 4GB card can hold (although we're keeping an eye out on the 8GB Memory Stick!).Go to FRYS.com to take advantage of this great deal.[Via SlickDeals]

  • Deal of the Day: PS3 + 2 games + HDMI cable = 330

    01.20.2008

Oh Amazon. This is a great deal, but does it have to be so darn complicated? Here's the situation: You can have a PS3 with two games and an HDMI cable for £330. This is obviously an undercut of the new "Pick N Mix" bundle that was revealed last week. There are two lists of games from which you can choose and depending on whether you pick two games from list A, two from list B or one from each, you need to use a different coupon code. Got a maths degree? Good, that should help. Additionally, you can add Burnout Paradise to your bundle for only £20, giving you a PS3, three games and an HDMI cable for £350. This whole deal lasts until February 28th, though the HDMI cable and Burnout Paradise can only be included up until January 31st. The PS3s themselves are still in stock, but there's no telling how long that will last.

Dear amazon.com,Please stop having Blu-ray sales. Your attempts at making us build our Blu-ray libraries have been devastating to our wallets. Sure, you keep on adding more movies every time you have a sale, but we'd love it if you'd stop tempting us. Right now, your 50% off sale makes many of these Blu-ray discs cost the same (or less) than their DVD counterparts. Will you continue torturing us once HD DVD is officially declared dead?Love,PS3 Fanboy[Via NeoGAF]

There are rumors around Fanboy HQ that an Eye of Judgment competition is going to start soon. If you already have this Eye-enabled card game, then you're already set. (Make sure you're practicing -- competition is sure to be tough!) If you don't have the game yet, this deal from amazon.com should set you right. $45 for both the game, the cards and the Eye camera. Heck, the camera by itself costs $40, so even if you're uninterested in the game, this should be a sweet deal.[Via CAG]

Ninja Theory's brief, but beautiful, action game is finally available for a discount. It's currently available at amazon.com for $40 -- that's $20 less than retail (and probably less than what GameStop is asking for it used). People have been divided in their opinion of the game: some think it wonderful, while others find it repetitive. Regardless, there's one thing that everyone can agree on: it's pretty darn short. If you haven't had a chance to play this PS3 exclusive yet, this might be the deal you've been looking for.[Via CAG]

What would make Patapon even better? How about a budget price? It looks like SCEA may be trying to woo gamers into taking the plunge with these lovable critters by making the game launch at the very tasty price of $20. We don't know if this is just a price glitch on Gamestop's part, or if this price is official. We're hoping for the latter -- we know a lot more people will try this innovative game if they see it's available for so cheap.[Via PlayStation Boards]
