Last month, Under Armour launched its Project Rock on-ear headphones, which are built for intense workouts and were designed in collaboration with Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock). But not every fitness buff is going to be a fan of him (even though they should be, because gains), so it only made sense for the company to introduce a model without all his Rock branding. Enter the Sport Wireless Train, Under Armour's latest on-ear headphones, created alongside audio firm JBL. The new set was first revealed in 2017 and looks nearly identical to the Project Rocks, with the only difference being the UA and JBL logos on the earcups and headband, respectively.

Wireless headphones are dime a dozen, unless you want a pair that's on- or over-ear and designed to handle intense workouts. There are plenty of solid options for fitness buffs, including the JLab Epic2 and Jaybird X3, but those are earbuds. Bose's QuietComfort 35 IIs, meanwhile, are great over-ears, but they're not made from water-resistant materials -- and you want that if you're using them at the gym. That's a gap Under Armour hopes to fill with its new Project Rock wireless, on-ear headphones, which are specifically designed for workouts and were created with input from training junkie Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock.

Microsoft's Xbox was the last great CES reveal

CES was a different show 17 years ago. In 2001, the Best of Show award went to the DataPlay disc, a postage-stamp-size memory card that held up to 500MB of data. If you can't remember it, don't worry -- the company went out of business shortly thereafter as SD became the de facto standard. Microsoft was still the biggest tech company on the planet at that point -- Apple wouldn't release the original iPod for another nine months -- and each CES began with a keynote hosted by Bill Gates. The first 80 minutes of its 2001 keynote consisted of clunky tech that now, in some form or another, lives in Google Home or your smartphone. But then came the reveal of the original Xbox. It arrived with none of the fanfare we expect from modern tech presentations, but, unlike the Pocket PC voice-to-text demo that preceded it, the Xbox debut changed the company's future. For once, Microsoft was an underdog, going head-to-head against Sony, Nintendo and Sega for control of the living room. To help sell its vision, the company enlisted a veteran game developer with a penchant for flashy footwear and, of course, a pro wrestler. This is the story of that presentation, from the people who were there.

Now here's something you probably didn't see coming. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed that he's starring in a Siri-themed movie (The Rock x Siri) that launches July 24th on Apple's YouTube channel. He's shy about details (other than that it's the "coolest, sexiest, funnest" movie ever), but it's safe to say there will be some plugs for Apple's voice assistant. We've asked Apple if it can elaborate on the premise.

One More Thing Steven Levy, Wired Apple's so-called spaceship campus, or Apple Park, has been in the works for a while now, but this week Wired gave us a big update on the progress. The obsessive attention to detail, tunnel entry, modular "pod" sections for employees and more are all detailed here. Like any other Apple product, the company is using a keen eye when designing it's biggest project thus far.

YouTube is more determined than ever to line up major original shows for its Red subscription service. The video giant has scored deals for three new exclusives from names you will definitely recognize. The highlight might just be Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Lifeline. Apart from its celebrity producer, the sci-fi series revolves around the intriguing (if Minority Report-like) concept of insurers who travel 33 days ahead in time to prevent the deaths of their customers.

It can be difficult to get up and going in the morning, especially on Mondays. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has no trouble in the motivation department, and the actor/pro wrestler is looking to lend a hand with your morning routine. The Rock Clock is an alarm app that allows you to input goals you're working to achieve so you can wake up with some motivation from The Rock himself. There's over 20 alarms too choose from, ranging from the sound of a chain saw to songs and regular clock sounds voiced by Johnson.

Just after rescuing his family from The Big One in San Andreas, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to save the world in a film adaptation of Midway's arcade classic Rampage, Deadline reports. Now, you might wonder how a game about a giant gorilla, lizard and wolf destroying cities could be turned into a film, but really, what more do you need than The Rock versus giant monsters? After being first announced back in 2011, it finally looks like the Rampage film is getting off the ground. New Line is still looking for a director, but we hope they settle on someone comfortable with plenty of glorious destruction (more Pacific Rim than San Andreas, please). Production is set to begin next summer, which means we'll likely see the film during 2017's peak popcorn movie season.

  • Sega, Pyro Studios partner over Planet 51

Sega announced that it has inked a deal with Commandos series dev Pyro Studios to produce a game based on the upcoming CG film Planet 51, with the tie-in expected to crowd store shelves with versions on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Nintendo DS. A Winter release is planned, though the "mission-based driving game" will likely be available at or around November 20 when the movie, which pits the voice of Dwayne Johnson against a planet of little green men, hits theaters. So, to run down, we've got a movie-licensed game based on a movie starring The Rock from a studio whose claim to fame is an inconsequential series of tactical games. Forgettable, sure, but in this slumping economy, betting on movie licenses seems like a safe bet for any outfit, let alone one facing such substantial losses as Sega.
