We're back! This week the big event doesn't occur until Sunday night (unless it leaks early), when Game of Thrones wraps up its penultimate season with another super-sized episode clocking in at 79 minutes, 43 seconds. Until then we can check out Madden 18, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Disney's first 4K Blu-ray release Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Amazon Prime has its first season of The Tick, while Netflix drops its Death Note live action movie. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

At last, Disney is getting into Ultra HD movie releases. Fans of the studio's flicks have been stuck in 1080p for the last couple of years even as other studios have released 4K movies via streaming, downloads and disc. Now Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn has confirmed on Facebook that his movie will be the first one from Disney released in 4K and HDR -- especially welcome thanks to the sharp image and vivid colors captured by using Red's Weapon 8K camera. According to Gunn, "4K UltraHD is almost certainly the best way you can see this movie at home - with more definition and the most vibrant colors possible on your home screen, and with the brightest brights and the blackest blacks. A being composed of light truly appears to be a being composed of light!"

When director James Gunn revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be the first movie shot with Red's 8K Weapon camera, he triggered a bit of speculation: what prompted the move beyond the incredibly high resolution? You might have a better answer today. Red has posted a behind-the-scenes look at the movie that, to no one's surprise, talks a lot about why the Vol. 2 team shot with such relatively exotic gear. And no, it's not just about that picture quality.

'Guardians of the Galaxy 2:' Twice Is (Still) the Charm Christopher Orr, The Atlantic Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters this weekend, the sequel to the 2014 film that introduced us to Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Grax and Rocket on the big screen. While the new installment appears to be just as entertaining, the plot suffers where the original shined. The Atlantic has a full review of the film if you want to read up before, or after, you go see it. And yes, there are spoilers. When you do decide to head to the theater though, don't forget to sneak in your Doritos.

Junk food and summer blockbusters go hand in hand -- from the nachos, popcorn and candy you buy at the cinema, to action-hero faces plastered on every brand of potato chips at the supermarket. This has been the way of the world as long as I can remember, but this summer, the pairing may have reached its apex. In a perfect storm of brand synergy, nostalgia and guilty pleasures, Marvel has decided to release the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the most unconventional format imaginable: a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

Red and director James Gunn revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be the first movie shot on the company's Weapon 8K digital cinema camera. The original film, which grossed nearly $800 million worldwide, was captured on Arri's Alexa XT camera. While directors like Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan still demand celluloid film, digital cameras haven't exactly been sitting still. Red's 8K Weapon arguably rivals the resolution of 70mm film, even though the Vista Vision-size sensor is smaller. Arri, meanwhile, recently released the Alexa 65, a 6K cinema camera with a huge 65mm sensor.
