Brainstorm: Omerta: City of Gangsters, November's Atlantic City-based prohibition-era mob simulator developed by Haemimont Games, can't use Nazis as enemies. It wouldn't be historically accurate. So, what about the KKK? And what if the KKK leader was beaten by a black dude in a flamboyant purple jacket?%Gallery-164951%

Good news, El Presidente! The next Tropico is developer Haemimont Games' next title after it ships Omerta this fall. Even more interesting, the game won't be as obviously iterative as it was between Tropico 3 and Tropico 4."We've already started on Tropico. This time we're wiping the whole game clean and building it from the ground up," explained Gabriel Dobrev, chief executive officer of the Bulgarian developer. "We're starting with a clean design this time and all the graphics will be new."Dobrev says he's a fan of the Caribbean atmosphere, political aspects and story possibilities of the Tropico universe. He wouldn't share any more details about the new island adventure or pinpoint the era it would take place in, but said it's "larger in scope." No matter what they decide to do with the new design, El Presidente shall return! (Picitured: Tropico 4)

Omerta: City of Gangsters will muscle its way into retail this November. Developed by Haemimont Games, the Atlantic City mob simulator isn't so much about building a burg like in the developer's Tropico series, but is actually focused on turn-based combat and keeping the economy of the player's mob empire stable.Omerta's prohibition setting of the 1920s puts players in control of obtaining and maintaining a mob network that's earning cash through speakeasies, distilleries, bank heists and more. The game takes place on two levels, with the macro mob management game and the turn-based missions, where a team is personally selected thugs rob a bank, take out the competition or other enterprising opportunities. The game will be available on both PC and Xbox 360 when it arrives in "early November," according to Haemimont CEO Gabriel Dobrev.%Gallery-156648%

Publisher Kalypso Media and Tropico series developer Haemimont Games are bringing mob city simulator Omerta - City of Gangsters to Xbox 360 this fall. The game was previously announced for PC, but will now make its way to Microsoft's console, much like Tropico 3, Tropico 4 and Tropico 4: Modern Times (albeit, a little later).Instead of controlling the day to day of Tropico's banana republic operations, Omerta takes place in the 1920s, as players work their way up as a powerful mobster on the macro level. The made men and women of Omerta must construct or buy building to create speakeasies, distilleries, illegal boxing rings and much more to be good earners. If they don't, well... we hear fishes make great cuddle buddies.%Gallery-149785%

Tropico 4: Modern Times, whose PC launch was officially announced for next week, clearly shows El Presidente is a man of technologication and has learned to export through digital distribution. The Modern Times expansion is available now through Steam and Amazon for $20.The boxed retail version of Modern Times will still be available next week. The shipments are currently en route within large storage containers with air holes. El Presidente didn't want to keep filling Tropican prisons with rebels... so he found a new export. El Presidente will deal with modernity when Tropico 4: Modern Times hits Xbox 360 and PC this March. Propaganda claims the expansion will feature an "extensive" new single-player campaign. Considering Tropico 4's normal campaign lasted dozens upon dozens of hours, we'll take the officials at their word on this one. Along with the new campaign, the expansion includes 30 buildings, 12 challenges and 10 edicts to make El Presidente's bank account expand on the labor of the grateful working class. El Presidente's temporal travel to Modern Times will cost 1200 MSP ($15) on Xbox 360, and $19.99 on PC.

This weekend's Steam sale will feature all that Tropico has to offer between 33-66 percent off. Tropico: Reloaded, which includes Tropico 1 and 2, is $2.37, which is less than a bunch of bananas. Another (politically justified) steal is Tropico 3 and its Absolute Power expansion at $3.39 apiece. Both titles are a great way to dip your dictator desires into the pool of power and see if Tropico 4 is worth the coin. Finally, Tropico 4 is only 33 percent off, is $26.79. The game is an evolutionary step up from Tropico 3, with a robust campaign that takes players through the rules of ruling the island nation.%Gallery-138356%

Dear, magnificent El Presidente, I, Penultimo, your trusted and loyal adviser, understand that you have ordered copies of Tropico 4 not be imported to the island and stated, in your wisdom, that not enough has changed from Tropico 3 to this latest sequel to acquiesce on requested import taxes. Although you are correct on many, many levels, I humbly note the following changes that may shift your perspective. On the surface, Tropico 4 is almost identical to Tropico 3. It looks the same, controls the same, the UI is similar, art is reused, you'll still have to put parking garages (seriously!) everywhere and it's difficult to initially discern what's changed at all. But, once the game begins, it becomes clear that this is the game that Tropico 3 should have been. Could it have been called Tropico 3.75: We Fixed It? Absolutely. However, publisher Kalypso Media and developer Haemimont Games went with Tropico 4, so here we are. %Gallery-126027%

The Xbox 360 version has been moved until "mid-September," but any public mentioning of this as a "delay" will involve a blindfold and firing squad. People of Tropico, it is I, Juanito! A new teaser trailer for Tropico 4 reveals the latest video game simulation of our beloved island has been delayed until August 2011, for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions. El Presidente would like to inform the people that anything they may have heard about a release date between April and June, 2011 was merely "rumor and speculation." Our great leader would never do anything to mislead the people. Ever.

People of Tropico, rejoice! Our leader, El Presidente, in his infinite wisdom, has declared a launch window for Operation Tropico 4: next quarter, between April 1 and June 30. How thoughtful of our great leader to give us so many dates from which to choose -- but that's not all! El Presidente has also confirmed that his bold new vision will manifest not only on the PC, but on Xbox 360 as well. Recognizing the power and influence of our great El Presidente, more superpowers will open themselves up to diplomacy in Tropico 4. El Presidente has also announced he will be employing new ministers, who will help him shape this great nation through liberating policies. So, we say again: rejoice! Haemimont Games, the company which brought about the relaunch of the Tropico franchise, recently released a trailer for its new IP, The First Templar. In true Templar fashion, the game appears to be very Grail centric. In true action game fashion, the title also appears to be very stabbing-centric.

People of Tropico, it is I, Juanito! It appears that El Presidente is ready to simulate his next revolución, as he has ordered Haemimont Games, creators of Tropico 3, to make him another sequel. Tropico 4 has been announced for PC, but publisher Kalypso Games hints at a "possible console version" -- the previous installment was released on Xbox 360. The banana republic simulator is currently scheduled for a calendar Q2 2011 release. Tropico 4 will have a new campaign with 20 missions on 10 new maps, 20 "new buildings" and a whole sweatshop-produced mess of other features, including Facebook and Twitter integration. Tropico 3 was a very competent game that recaptured the spirit of the original. If the fourth installment can streamline some of the more unruly micromanagement and flow issues of the last game, Haemimont Games could have one of the best strategy sims in years on its coconut-oiled hands. %Gallery-99369%
