Oxhorn is back with another wonderful machinima, An Oxhorn Brand Medley. He combined quotes and songs from his other popular works with a tune whipped up by Nathan Allen Pinard to set the tone for his latest work. In typical Oxhorn fashion, you can find the script, music, and other tidbits about the movie on his website. A wise man once said, "LOLOMGWTGDAIRYQUEEN LOLOMGBBTHEQ." We couldn't agree more! As you sing along to the chorus, try to see how many scenes and characters you can recognize. This blogger only has eyes for Hat, the singing turtle, though. If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

  • Researchers cram bio-signal monitoring system inside baseball cap

Never before has headgear been so intrinsically linked with actual brain waves. Thanks to a team of researchers looking to create a method for "continuously monitoring high-temporal resolution brain dynamics without requiring conductive gels applied to the scalp," a new baseball cap has been created to do the trick. Said hat conceals five embedded dry electrodes which contact the wearer's forehead, while a single electrode behind the left ear acquires EEG signals. From there, the data is transferred wirelessly and can be processed in real-time to determine a driver's level of drowsiness, for instance. The gurus behind the invention have high hopes for its future, and they've already envisioned it being used in a plethora of medical scenarios and for controlling home electronics. To those about to rock this -- prepare for some serious hat-hair.

Nexon's super-popular MMO Maple Story is celebrating its third anniversary with a slew of new content. Among the new items and events players can look forward to are the ability to temporarily become a monster, a series of special Maple weapon drops, Boss Clones combat, the new Yakuza-themed region called Showa, and a unique Maple Story Anniversary Hat.But perhaps best of all, a rampaging attack by the cake-based monster called Big Puff Daddy! No longer will his people be oppressed, devoured at will simply because they're delicious! (Note: while we do not have a photo of BPD, chances are good that it will look nothing like the photo to the right) If you're a member, enjoy the new content. If not, now would be a great time to join![Thanks, Robert!]

In the fourth Inventing Swear Words, we find Mort, the undead ubar-l33t, preparing to marry his prize heifer, Lacy. Will he be able to resist temptation when it comes along? Will Hat be able to sing a tune without insulting Mort's bride? You'll just have to tune in to find out!I am pleased to report that my future husband, Hat the singing turtle, has quite a bit of face time in Oxhorn's latest machinima. He manages to sing three songs in Inventing Swear Words 4! I'd have to say that my favorite would be, "You are so beautiful ... to Mort." If you're as obsessed with Hat as I am, and he really should get a restraining order against me, then join his WeGame Official Hat Fan Club! Oxhorn was kind enough to render out all the Hat moments from his movies, so it's all Hat, all the time.

Once the preserve of circus masters, Lord Snooty from The Beano, and Mandrake the Magician, the trusty top hat has now been adopted by another group: Nintendo DS game reviewers. This glitzy top hat, modeled after Professor Layton's own, was a freebie that came with Kombo's review copy of Professor Layton and the Curious Village.Needless to say, we are burning with envy. Our lives would be significantly improved with a plain top hat, never mind one emblazoned with the good Professor's name. Go past the break for a shot of this fine item being shown off by smug Kombo editor Phillip Levin.See also: 2008's Biggest Blips -- Professor Layton and the Curious Village%Gallery-12504%

  • Fight those industry fat cats with this K.K. Slider hat

Of all the characters in Animal Crossing Wild World, we always felt closest to guitar-wielding dog and Roost regular K. K. Slider. It could be his tuneful, oddly wistful singing voice, or even his social awareness, but we know one thing: we now look forward to each and every Saturday night, when K.K. comes to town to entertain us, his adoring fans. Now we can pay tribute with our heads, thanks to this fine K.K. Slider hat, which has been lovingly crafted by Etsy user Penguinotic from white fleece and felt. The $20 price tag means that it will cost you about $20 more than K.K.'s music, but we think there's just enough of the northern winter left to justify this.[Thanks, Simca!]

If there ever was a hat we would wear every day of the winter, it would be this. It opens the door to a whole world of possible hats made from other enemies in the Super Mario franchise. And, the only hat that could be cooler than this would probably be a Lakitu with a Spiny Egg dangling from his cloud. Someone should get on that ...[Via DS Fanboy]

A hat like this might give Mario nightmares, but we're certainly fans. It's one of those ideas that seems so perfect, we're surprised we didn't think of it first. Made by the Knitting Ninja, this wonderful knit hat will make you look like a badass while keeping you warm. According to the Ninja herself, the hat is "a Chomp that has happily broken free of its chain, only to latch itself onto an unsuspecting gamer's head."If you'd like this chomp to rest on your head, fear not; the Knitting Ninja has plans to start selling them. You just have to watch her blog and hope you're able to snatch one up when they become available.[Via GoNintendo]

  • Impersonate a 1990s Nintendo employee

GameSniped has a roundup of one eBay seller's truly bizarre Nintendo employee items -- not just the usual retail demo units, but stuff like pins awarded for 1, 2, and 3 years of service, and, well, this hat. We can't say enough about the hat. We'd look like huge nerds wearing a hat like that (being non-cowboys/farmers/people who see sunlight), and Nintendo-logo-emblazoned hats are nerdy as a rule, so this beautiful piece of haberdashery, swag from Nintendo's 1996 semi-annual company meeting in Nashville, is a nexus of nerdity.Okay, there are actually a lot of retail demo units, too, and a neat Nintendo Power display stand. We've been jaded by the Internet if we have allowed ourselves to stop being impressed by the availability of old store demo systems on eBay.

This Machinima was so nice that I had to share it twice. World of Warcraft fans will appreciate this tale of greed and pie, narrated by the deliciously sinister Associate Professor Evil. As three friends head to a party, they encounter many obstacles, including a violent reindeer, and an expansion requirement that they weren't quite prepared for ... It is during the commercial break that the video truly shines, as Oxhorn does his best late night TV impression. If only "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like This Raid Isn't Going to Happen" were a real song!Yesterday, I noted that my future husband, Hat, wasn't featured anywhere in the film, but after watching a second time, I noticed that Oxhorn is holding him during the commercial break! If you like pecan pie, Savage Garden, or critiquing films without actually making them, then this is the Machinima for you. As always, you can read the full script on his blog, or check out the high quality version.

When three friends decide to check out a party, they have no idea what they're in for. Oxhorn has released a Christmas Special like no other. It contains all of the elements of a quality tale, including an epic adventure, l33t-speak, a heroic battle against a reindeer, and pie! There's even a hilarious commercial break that mocks those cheesy late night CD commercials on TV.My only complaint is that my future husband, Hat, is not only absent, but insulted in this machinima. However, Oxhorn does take light jabs at whiners like me at the end, so point taken. • Winter Veil mysteries

The Feast of Winter Veil will be upon us in less than a week and we already know that there will be new elements added to WoW's biggest holiday. Item database and news sites have been publishing information about this year's festivities for quite awhile now, but nonetheless there are still two mysteries that are pestering me. First of all, as you are probably aware, there is a Winter Veil quest to kill the Abominable Greench and retrieve the stolen Smokywood Pastures' treats in the Alterac Mountains. Upon completion of the quest, you're rewarded with a box that can contain a special profession recipe. Alchemy, Engineering, Enchanting, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing and Tailoring have all been represented in the possible rewards. This brings us down to my burning question: Will jewelcrafters have a new design added to the gift box this year? If so, what could it possibly be?

Recently, Daniel "Walrus" Myers popped his head out of The Matrix (or into, depending on which side you think this is) to give all the Redpills out there some great information on what's been planned for The Matrix Online in the upcoming month. Most of it, for those of us who play MxO, know that it involves evolving the storyline as we move from Chapter 8 (which just ended on November 15th -- hooray chapter and arc rewards!) to Chapter 9. Also included in the next batch of updates is the fix for Bullet Time animations and finishing moves. Also returning to The Matrix Online is the third annual Winter Holiday Event. More hats and snowballs (and new clothing pieces) please! We've been extra-good Redpills this year, we promise.

From the first time I saw Hat vs. Barnaby, I couldn't get Hat, the Singing Turtle, out of my head. I even went so far as to stalk Oxhorn in order to find out more about him! While I was disappointed to learn that Hat probably wouldn't marry a human, I did discover some important details of his life.Born in a little pond in the Barrens, Hat knew there was more to life than eating crickets. All he really wanted to do was sing, and he didn't let anyone discourage him! As for Barnaby, Associate Professor Evil found him trying to catch cheese in a river! Since that fateful day, he has lived a life of killing and critiquing. The ending of this World of Warcraft Machinima was a bit of a cliffhanger, so I had many questions regarding both Hat and Barnaby. How do they get along now? What are Hat's plans for the future? Read on after the jump to find out the answers to those questions and more ...

I'm not a big fan of sites like cute overload. However, when I encounter creatures like Hat, the Singing Turtle, I'm just overwhelmed with adorable! This is my official petition, Oxhorn. I want more Hat Machinima! While I'm busy applying for membership to Hat's fan club, check out Hat vs. Barnaby, made in World of Warcraft. When Hat is invited to sing at the Evil Alchemist University, he has no idea that he will be shunned by followers of The Great Critic, Barnaby. As the tale unfolds, a hilarious battle ensues between turtle and crab, taking to the streets of Stormwind. This looks like a job for Mighty Morphin Midget Gnomes!

  • Cats in hats (dogs, too)

Rather than discriminate against either dog or cat fans, Ubisoft is satisfying pet lovers of both persuasions with two versions of their latest game -- Puppy and the Magical Hat and Kitten and the Magical Hat -- both of which are hella cute. They're essentially the same release, the only visible differences being a palette swap between the two animals and switched sound effects (e.g. barks and meows). Oh, and instead of using a dog bone as a pointer, Kitten and the Magical Hat uses a fish skeleton. Cats don't give a damn about dog bones. Other than that, they're indistinguishable, as evidenced by the near-identical trailers and screenshots at their official sites. They both have the same outfits to dress your pet in, the same dolphin-riding action, and the same play-air-hockey-with-a-lion minigame! We can forgive developer Yuke's for taking the easy route with this production, though, as the pair of titles really seems like a lot more fun and full-featured than the usual pet training shovelware we see. Dash (or pounce) past the break for some comparison screens and the K-9 Advantix commercial we referenced in our article image.

And here we are at 6pm, and hour number 11 in our 24 hours of launch day contests featuring Tabula Rasa. How's things? Good? Friday afternoon going OK?If not, maybe we can help-- this hour we'll be giving away a Tabula Rasa hat, a poster, and an oversized game box (sans actual game) to three random commenters on this post. As usual, you have to be a US resident (stupid laws!) and you have to be 18 and older. Leave a comment on this post in the next hour (by 7pm EST, official rules are here), and we'll pick three winners to win three prizes. And let's make this fun-- in your comment, tell us what the people in the pic above are running from.Good luck as always, and have a great Friday afternoon. They may not be as quick out of the gate as some manufacturers have been with their 3rd gen iPod nano accessories, but the folks at iXoundwear look to have made up for their lateness with sheer dorkiness, today announcing their new line of nano-ready sport caps. As you can see above, the caps will not-so-subtly house your shiny new nano in a specially-designed pouch on the side, with two bendable polyurethane plastic spools included to wrap your headphone cord around. If you think you can pull this look off, you'll be able to get the cap in your choice of blue, green, red, black or white this November for $20.
