    What we're watching: The bad side of the World Series, is all the other networks defer with reruns and b-quality programming, so if you don't like baseball or the game is cancelled due to rain, there's not much on.     What we're watching: The World Series continues on Fox, as the St. Louis Cardinals try to take a 3-1 lead over the Detroit Tigers. The theme for tonight's Lost is "every man for himself", which hopefully means "the HDTV boxed set doesn't cost $200", but that's just wishful thinking. NBA preseason action is on TNT as the Rockets face the Heat, but we'll probably check out Just Friends on HBO.Our traditional high-def listings continue below.

    What we're watching: The Cardinal's and Mets hope to get the NLCS started today on Fox after being rained out yesterday, while Virginia Tech takes on Boston College in a pretty good Thursday night college football matchup. We probably wouldn't call James Woods the best looking celebrity in HDTV, but he makes Shark watchable every week.     What we're watching: CBS has made a slight lineup change, moving How I Met Your Mother ahead of not-cancelled-yet The Class. What About Brian is back on ABC with its second season premiere, which would give us a peek at what Monday night will bring all fall, except for The CW switching its Sunday and Monday shows starting next week.     What we're watching: Discovery HD Atlas continues, this time taking an in depth look at the history of Italy. The CW's outgoing Sunday night lineup -- all four shows move to Monday starting next week -- makes it's second and final appearance while Dexter queues up a second episode on Showtime. Although the picture quality hasn't pleased everyone, NBC's Sunday Night Football features the defending Super bowl champion Steelers vs. the Chargers in a great AFC matchup.Our traditional high-def listings continue below.
