MV Guide is a weekly rundown of the MMO gaming events planned on Massively TV. Every week, the Massively staff logs in to play various MMOs live and in person, and we'd love for you to drop by the channel and visit. We have a combination of regular weekly games and new surprises, so you'll find a variety of titles to take a look at. During our streamed events, you can participate in the live chat, ask questions to learn about the game, and simply spend some time with Massively staff and readers. (Of course, streaming is subject to the whims of outside forces like server-side gremlins once in a while.) You'll notice a hefty lineup, some new faces, and some special events in this week's MV Guide. Joining us will be some brand-new members of the MV TV livestream team, so make sure you stop in while they're live and give them a welcome! Follow along after the jump to see what's on this week's schedule.

"Calling all Superkids!" begins Jagex's press release announcing today's relaunch of its newest MMO Herotopia. The children's superhero game went live again today with a new content update, touting a new Mission System that "[gives] players more than 75 challenging quests to complete and five new mini-games, including daily Power Puzzles that test their creativeness, skill and knowledge of the world around them." Heroptopia, which has received the prestigious Gold Award from the National Parenting Publications Awards, "offers kids a rich and engaging world for them to become their ultimate Superheroes" and allows them to visit real-world locations ranging from New York to Paris to the North Pole. Alongside the requisite quests and minigames, Herotopia offers players the chance to create their very own Fortresses of Solitude with the game's Secret Hideout system, which gives players "a fully customizable hero base where they can meet with their in-game friends." What does Herotopia have to offer for kids (and their parents)? Caryn and Wade Teman, CEOs of Herotainment, had this to say: "When creating Herotopia, we as parents ourselves wanted to empower kids to be their own heroes and to get something more out of playing an online game than just a high score." The game is free-to-play, though it does offer a subscription option that provides players with additional acessories for their hideouts, an orangutan sidekick, more superpowers and vehicles, and access to an additional location known as Herotopia Island. In addition, a portion of all proceeds from subscriptions will be donated to children's charities voted on by the game's community. For more information and to jump into the game, head over to the game's official site. %Gallery-124265%

Heavyweight free-to-play publisher Jagex is joining forces with Herotainment, a New York-based children's media company. The partnership will lead to the publication of a new browser-based virtual world called Herotopia, which is aimed, naturally, at little tykes. Herotopia casts kids in the role of superheroes and offers both real-world and fantasy-based locations to explore. Gameplay also involves questing, building secret hideouts, 25 unique minigames, and the showing off of various super powers, all wrapped in the confines of a safe online environment. "We are delighted to partner with Herotainment as they have created an enthralling virtual world which provides kids with a fun and enjoyable experience they can make their own," said Jagex's Wendy Rosenthal via press release. The National Parenting Publication Awards agrees, as the organization has already tagged Herotopia with its Gold Award for excellence in video games. Head to the official Herotopia website to learn more.
