Since 2012, Porsche Design and BlackBerry have worked together on two high-end handsets that offer a retooled exterior and... not much else. That didn't stop the duo from selling the tweaked aesthetic for over $2,000, though. It seems that the pair is up to its old tricks once more, as the P'9983 (code named "Khan") phone has unofficially broke from cover. According to N4BB, the second QWERTY device from the two companies will sport BlackBerry 10 on its 3.5-inch touchscreen with 3GB RAM, a dual-core 1.7 GHz processor and 64GB of storage inside. BlackBerry is also set to debut its rather unique 4.5-inch square Passport device soon, complete with its own personal assistant. But this leak begs the question: Why?

  • Found Footage: Captain iPod T. Shuffle takes on Kindle Noonien Singh

When it comes to screen pathos, nobody does it better than Shatner and Montelban in the classic confrontation Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. Now the twisted minds at the SciFi Network's Dvice blog have taken a wonderful cinematic moment, full of overwrought line readings, and handed it over to the voice-synthesis capabilities of the Amazon Kindle 2 and the iPod shuffle via Talking Gadget Theater. "Buried alive... buried alive..."This isn't the first screen collaboration for the two gadgets; they also did a rendition of the interrogation scene from Blade Runner -- clip in the 2nd half of this post. Now, if we can get the iPod shuffle to convincingly say "I'd like to thank the members of the Academy," we'll be on to something.

  • 15 Minutes of Fame: Gurubashing his way to Arena Grand Master

15 Minutes of Fame is our look at World of Warcraft players of all shapes and sizes – both the renowned and the relatively anonymous. Tip us off to players you'd like to hear more about at 15minutesoffame (at) wowinsider (dot) com. Meet Venwe of Spinebreaker, Arena Grand Master – nay, not of the Ring of Trials or The Circle of Blood or even the Ruins of Lordaeron. No, Venwe is the master of an arena you may not even have heard of: Stranglethorn Vale's Gurubashi Arena, home of the Gurubashi Arena Booty Run. Every three hours in the heart of the Stranglethorn jungle, Short John Mithril bellows out the call to arms: "Arrr, Me Hearties! I be havin' some extra Treasure that I be givin' away at the Gurubashi Arena! All ye need do to collect it is open the chest I leave on the arena floor!" His summons sets off a true PvP free-for-all – players of both factions, including your own – in a race to recover and open the pirate's chest dropped at the center of the arena. Players like Venwe scrabble against friend and foe for bragging rights and a shot at the chest's booty -- except unlike Venwe, most players haven't succeeded more than 700 times.

  • STO devlog 4.0 reveals nothing except the dev team's geekiness

Star Trek Online news is still sparse. We've heard nothing since we read the third devlog over a month ago. Now the fourth devlog is out, and it completely lacks new information about the game itself. However, it does eliminate any fears you might have had that the team at Perpetual Entertainment were not true Star Trek fans. We already assumed they were. After all, they're computer programmers and/or sci-fi artists. Plus, they're making a Star Trek MMO.The individual members of the development team answered questions like, "What's your fondest Star Trek-related memory" and "If you could bring one character from the Star Trek universe into Star Trek Online, who would it be?" The latter of those was the most amusing question. "We got a lot of requests for Q, Data, and Khan," the devlogger writes. "That explosion you just heard was the design team's brains trying to figure out how to integrate two dead guys and an omnipotent space god into the game."Indeed. As for the omnipotent space god, though, we think Richard Garriott might have a big enough ego to roleplay the part. Just a thought!

  • Phat Loot Phriday: Mark of the Chosen

Last week, someone requested an item that anyone can get, and so this week we're going for this nice midgame trinket.Name: Mark of the ChosenType: Uncommon TrinketAbilities: Chance on hit: a 2% chance of increasing all stats by 25 for 1 minute. Yup, that's a darn nice proc. Your attributes affect all kinds of things, and so a +25 buff for one minute is a nice bonus. Especially if, in the late 40s, you don't have a really good trinket yet. Of course, this is especially good for classes that get hit a lot-- tanks and rogues especially. 2% proc isn't a lot, but I had this trinket on my rogue all the way up to 60 (he was an alt, what do you expect?) and it procced plenty, especially when I grabbed adds. Oh, and while it doesn't stack (if it happens to proc within the minute that you get the buff), a second proc will just extend the duration, which is nice-- no wasted procs. How to Get It: You get to experience one of my favorite instances: Maraudon. This comes from a quest called "The Pariah's Instructions," which begins with a questgiving centaur wandering around the southern hills of Desolace (he's behind a big hill in the middle). He'll give you a little slip of paper called (surprise) the Pariah's Instructions. You'll basically head into Maraudon (so you'll need a 5-man group), kill one of the mobs in front for an amulet drop, and then find five ghostly Khans, the founders of the Centaur tribes in Azeroth. They're sprinkled all throughout Maraudon-- two are inside and outside the purple side of Maraudon, and two more are inside and outside the orange side. The last one (although it'll probably be the first one you kill), is right in the middle before the instance splits into two colors (right near where you later create the portal to the end of Mara). At each Khan, you use the amulet on them, and they'll become corporeal and try to kill you. Kill them, take the jewels for each, and then when you've collected all five, use the Amulet again to combine them, and take the whole shebang back to the Pariah. He'll rejoice that he's got the power to unite the clans, and you'll get your trinket. Except that I gave him that amulet a long time ago, and he still hasn't united the clans... What's he waiting for?Getting Rid of It: Truth be told, you won't keep this thing too long-- definitely by the time you hit 60, you'll probably run across at least two more better trinkets (you'll get offered one more for sure at the class-specific Sunken Temple quests in the early 50s). When you are done with it, you can get 61s 33c by selling it to a vendor, or disenchant it into Dream Dust, a Greater Nether Essence, or a Large Radiant Shard.

  • Core Duo KHAN laptop line from Korea's Hasee

Yeah, these are just Korea-bound laptops, but there's some good stuff going on here for a decent price, so we thought we'd show you just the same. The 6.2 pound laptop holds a 15.4-inch screen, Core Duo T2300 1.66GHz processor, DVD burner, WLAN, 80GB SATA HDD and an ATI Radeon X1600. Hasee skimped a bit on the 512MB of RAM, but they're including a DVI port, along with your (well, your Korean friend's) choice of a DMB TV tuner or an external Sony HDD. The whole package is 1070 Euros, about $1342 USD. Not quite bargain basement, but it's getting there.
