Indifferent souls may have no qualms just snapping up the first digiframe they see, but that sect isn't the target market for Parrot's latest. The Andrée Putman-designed device is being shown around the UK at the moment, and aside from boasting a 7-inch display, a glossy black motif, rear-mounted buttons, auto-rotation, 10MB of built-in storage, an SD expansion slot and integrated Bluetooth (but no WiFi), you also get to hand over £250 to take it home. Right now, the piece is only available in London's Few and Far store, but the company may try to roll it out nationwide if demand necessitates. Check it out on video in the read link below.[Via CNET]

  • Limited edition Tony Hawk Sidekick LX on the way?

We'd recommend taking this one with a healthy dose of salt, but word on the street has it that Tony Hawk -- being the unashamed Sidekick lover that he is -- is gearing up to receive his very own limited edition LX. Oh, and his adoring fans can snap one up too if they're quick. Details about the unit itself are scant, but it will obviously be Tony Hawk-branded and able to do a 900 on command. We are hearing, however, that it's slated to land on July 16th -- just in time for the T-Mobile sponsored Boom Boom HuckJam, too.[Via Hiptop3, image courtesy of AOL]

  • Limited edition Renault Sandero to boast Nokia branding, N95

Nothing shows your complete and unwavering devotion to a handset maker like buying an ultra-rare vehicle with its logos on there, wouldn't you agree? Those vigorously nodding up and down (well, those vigorously nodding up and down in Brazil) can get set to grab a limited edition Renault Sandero, which will come "fully equipped with Nokia's navigation system and [undisclosed] car add-ons." The super-special Sandero will come stocked with an N95 and cost around €17,650 ($27,693), but you'd better hurry, as only 1,000 of these niche motorcars are being built. It's like Nokia heard your cries for letting the chance to nab one of those co-branded Twingos slip through your too-busy-texting thumbs or something.

  • Limited edition Bronze PSP now on sale, likely to remain that way

We're still trying to piece together why in the world Sony would choose matte bronze as the color for its latest PSP Slim, but now that it's out, we're focusing our attention on just how long it takes these so-called limited edition units to actually sell out. The Value Pack it comes bundled in includes a Japanese version of the handheld, 32MB memory stick, cleaning cloth, a case, AC adapter, battery pack and an AV cable for good measure -- unfortunately, a can of black spray paint actually isn't in the box. A last minute exclusion due to shipping regulations, we're sure. Grab one if you're into it for $278.97.[Via DCEMU]

Many of you will no doubt recall the gorgeous and very, very yellow limited edition Pikachu DS that remains painfully unattainable to us. With no official release planned for the hardware, we began to give up hope on ever owning one, but it looks like Nintendo could be offering another two Pikachu Lites to winners of a new contest being held to promote Pokémon Mystery Dungeon twosome Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Time. You can enter once a day between now and May 21st, when a couple of lucky winners will clinch themselves a treasure chest containing the most beautiful DS Lite known to man, a Wii, a HDTV, and more Pokémon goodies than they can shake a stick at. Head here to learn more.[Via press release]

  • Alone in the Dark scares up a limited edition

For pack rats who salivate for all things Carnby, Atari has released images to CVG of what collectors can expect to find inside the Alone in the Dark Limited Edition box. Currently only confirmed for release in Europe, the box will contain an Edward Carnby doll, official soundtrack CD, art book, making-of documentary and the game. There's currently no price attached and the limited edition is available only for Xbox 360, Wii and PC.We'll take this as a sign that the oft-delayed game might actually (shockingly) release June 24. After all, how can there be a "making-of documentary" if the game isn't done, right? Whether the game actually sells as well as Infogrames is predicting ... we'll have to wait and see.

Listen to the silence, let it ring on. Microsoft is said to be releasing a limited edition, Joy Division Zune featuring an adaptation of Peter Saville's pulsating cover art from the band's Unknown Pleasures debut. The launch is meant to parallel the June 10th release of the Joy Division DVD and could, in one fell swoop, lift the Zune above its L-7 image. Then we could go on as though nothing was wrong and hide from these days we remained all alone.P.S. That's our mockup of what we hope the Joy Division Zune will look like.[Via Wired, Thanks Rob H.]

Ah, Japan -- it just gets all the dope controllers, doesn't it? Just days after hearing that a Wii-white GameCube controller was headed there soon, a lucky, lucky member of Club Nintendo has unboxed his limited edition Wii Super Famicom Classic Controller. Yep, this token of nostalgia that we heard about way back in November of last year has finally arrived in the Land of the Rising Sun. Really, we can't believe you -- being the diehard Nintendo fanatic that you shamelessly are -- haven't already made it to the read link to check out the gallery of shots, but we won't ask you to test your patience any longer. Now, get![Via NintendoWiiFanboy]

  • Microsoft unloads 500 GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite consoles

While folks at the Xbox 360 repair lab know good and well how to strip a console back to its birthday suit, Microsoft is going the opposite direction with its limited run of Grand Theft Auto IV Elites. The console itself is purportedly blasted with automotive quality paint and each one is individually numbered. Apparently, the 500 units -- which look to come with a case full of peripherals -- are only being dished out to press outlets and the like, so it seems your only shot at actually acquiring one is by scouring the second hand market. Or you could just steal one and toss a Molotov cocktail behind as you're getting away -- that'd be fitting, we guess.[Via Xbox360Fanboy]

On June 12th, 2008 there'll be no place to hide from the release of the gunmetal MGS4 PS3. Well no place except every single country other than japan where the ¥51,800 (about $520) limited edition console will exclusively launch. That wad of Yen nabs the limited edition 40GB console with a Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots software bundle and like-colored DualShock 3 controller. How you like that, Ol' Snake? • Bee Movie HD DVD slips through cracks, goes for $400

    03.13.2008

We'll be honest, we can't exactly recall what the going rate on rare Betamax tapes was soon after VHS took over, but it seems that one HD DVD fanatic was willing to shell out quite a bundle in order to take home a presumably canceled version of Bee Movie. In a war that saw some 23 bids fly in, one particularly fortunate eBay seller was able to move a copy of Seinfeld's latest on the now-deceased format for $400 -- we think. Curiously enough, the seller didn't specifically mention that it was the HD version in a publicly answered question, and even more suspicious was the fact that he / she chose to end the auction early despite the chance of it soaring even higher. Here's to hoping the winning bidder both reads this and gets the film they purchased, but let's see some actual pictures as soon as it arrives, cool?[Thanks, Mack S.]

  • Love To Talk Jawbone headsets make your other ear jealous

Quite frankly, the traditional Jawbone headset is pretty stylish as is. Nevertheless, Yves Behar has somehow managed to make it even sexier with the creation of the Love To Talk family. This trio, which will reportedly be made available "in a very limited quantity," consists of a gold Sweet Talk version, black Dirty Talk edition and white Trash Talk model. No word on a price nor where to actually find one outside of the totally shady black market, but feel free to take a closer look at each in the read link below.

Oakley's Split Thump MP3 player sunglasses' fashion offenses are too numerous to mention, and we're not sure this is helping matters. According to the folks over at Tech Digest, the wrap-around music players will be getting a very special 500-piece, 1GB Jamiroquai edition, replete with purple and white camouflage design and two new remixes from the disco-aping singer's 1993 album Emergency on Planet Earth. Grab your glasses, get out your floppy hat, slip on some Mickey Mouse gloves, and crack open a bottle of Vicks VapoRub -- it's time to party like you don't know any better.

  • Bape puts its mark on limited edition DS Lites

    02.22.2008

It's not like there's any shortage of highly desirable DS / DS Lites out there, but we've all ideas this particular iteration will be one desired by many and acquired by (very) few. Japanese clothing company A Bathing Ape (Bape) has apparently signed on to put its spin on Nintendo's darling of a handheld, littering both a gold and white DS Lite with Milo characters. As for pricing, we'll just assume that those that need to ask should simply push this far from the forefront of their minds.[Via DSFanboy]

  • Humax intros limited edition LGB19-DTT and LGB19-DZT LCD TVs

    02.21.2008

Folks situated across the pond and scouting a new 19-inch LCD TV should certainly give Humax a look -- if you're totally into white, that is. The firm has apparently added limited edition flavors of its LGB19-DTT and LGB19-DZT models, which seem to be no different than the traditional iterations outside of the new hue. Each one packs a 1,440 x 900 resolution panel, 450 cd/m2 brightness, 800:1 contrast ratio, HDMI / component / S-Video / VGA inputs and an integrated Freeview tuner. The LGB19-DZT steps it up a notch with "simulated surround sound" and a bundled speaker along with an alarm clock for those obsessed with convergence. Still, these seem a shade overpriced at £299 ($583) and £329 ($641), respectively, but at least they're available right now in the UK.

  • Warner sets up hotline to replace Potter HD DVDs with Blu-ray Discs

    12.20.2007

If you were one of the many who received an HD DVD version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in your limited edition Blu-ray box set, take heart. Apparently, Warner Bros. has established a hotline for affected customers to call up, and when they're connected, they will be issued a single-disc BD edition of the aforementioned film. Reportedly, the studio will eventually mail out replacements that match the artwork on the other discs in the collection, but as of now, Warner has yet to release a statement on this either way. Ready to get yours? Phone up 1-800-553-6937 -- oh, and be kind to the uninvolved CSRs, will ya?[Thanks, domerdel]

  • Format war rages inside Harry Potter box set

    12.12.2007

We surely hope you didn't expect Warner Bros. to extinguish any of those tempestuous format war fires. Au contraire, the studio is apparently on a mission to fan those very flames, as it has inadvertently included an HD DVD within a five-disc Blu-ray box set. You read right -- a bevy of users across the 'net have received their limited edition package only to find the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire disc to be of the HD DVD variety. 'Course, we did hear that Warner was gunning for 2008 to unleash Total HD, but we definitely didn't see this coming. All joshing aside, users are apparently being asked to send the entire package back and await a totally Blu replacement, but we've all ideas that solution won't make diehard BD fans happy at all.[Via Blu-ray.com Forums, thanks Kiwi616]

  • Olive intros flamboyant Opus No5 Karim Rashid Editions

    12.05.2007

Considering that Olive's Opus Nº5 already buried the compact disc (or so we're told), it makes sense to jazz up the unit and dance all over the CD's grave. Consequently, the outfit has sought out Karim Rashid to design four new motifs for the digital audio player, but internally, all the hardware remains the same. As for color choices, you'll find the darkened Digitalia, the rainbow-themed Fusion, Spectra and Morphologic waiting to be had, all of which will run you a dollar short of four grand and arrive with 750GB of storage space. Bargain hunters, you're better off elsewhere.[Via CNET]

    12.05.2007

It's about time we started counting down the days until the standard Zune actually becomes the most sought after -- you know, considering that a limited edition iteration seems to pop out every other week or so. This go 'round, we're being teased with an oh-so-shiny Goods-branded version, which looks to come in both 8GB and 80GB flavors. Apparently, they'll be available somewhere in Seattle this Saturday for the first ten customers with deep enough pockets, but we've yet to find out if ten of each flavor (or just ten total) will be for sale. Hit the read link for a few more pics, and feel free to drop your best guess at next week's special edition Zune in comments.[Via GotZune, thanks Chris]

  • Samsung rehashes U600 with a limited edition Black & Gold version

    11.20.2007

Nothing much new here friends, that is, unless a new color -- and rather fancy gold writing -- is what you're looking for in a handset. With Samsung's almost constant stream of new phones, one has to wonder why you'd step back into yesteryear for a new color choice without any new goodies. Information on this newly glammed slider is weak, but Carphone Warehouse in France is pushing them out the door from anywhere between €1 and €329. Hit the read link to see more.[Via UnwiredView]
