Comcast last added in a new swath of high-def channels in the San Francisco Bay area this past April, so it goes without saying that residents are eager for some fresh material. Beginning on November 25th, customers in SF, California will see a fresh dozen hit the EPG, and those are: Bravo HD, Cartoon Network HD, CNBC HD, E! HD, Encore HD, FOX Business Network HD, FOX News Channel HD, FX HD, Hallmark Movie Channel HD, QVC HD, Speed HD and Travel Channel HD. Oh, and TBS HD will be joining the crowd on December 8th in certain CA markets, including Chico, Calaveras, Corning, Davis, Grass Valley, Modesto, Oroville, Patterson, Placerville, Roseville and Tracy. Nice, right?

It's a proven fact that most HDTV viewers take for granted that their high-def favorites are grouped together in the EPG, but high-def onlookers in Shaw territory have been hunting and pecking for ages... until now. The Canadian cable provider has just announced that it will soon be shuffling its lineup around in order to "give Shaw customers a better viewing experience by grouping high-definition channels together for ease of channel surfing." The changes are slated to take place on November 18th for Calgary, Canmore, Banff, Edmonton, Redwater, Edson, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Brooks, Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler, Winnipeg, rural Manitoba, Kenora, Saskatoon and Prince Albert, while all other markets will see the difference the day after.

Comcast already raised up its hands and shouted "Hallelujah!" upon successfully implementing Project Infinity in some sections of the country, but those debatable 1,000 HD choices are just now filtering down the east coast to South Florida. As of now, folks that way have over 1,000 HD on-demand choices, and Comcast is mighty proud of that fact. Of course, the actual number of HD channels (you know, those that matter) hasn't changed a bit, but you'd never know it by the elation seen in the PR.

Back in October, we heard that Insight Communications was fixing to carry 56 high-definition channels by early next month in the Kentucky region. Now, we're being treated to a delicious dash of confirmation. The Courier-Journal is reporting that 33 new HD channels will be added in and around Louisville, KY by December 18th as part of an upgrade program dubbed Digital 4.0. Wondering about what will be added? Try HD versions of A&E, AMC, The History Channel, USA, SciFi, Bravo, Sundance, National Geographic, FX, ESPNews, ESPNU, Disney, ABC Family and The Weather Channel -- and that's not counting the ten new HD on-demand options. Unfortunately, all this HD love won't be arriving as a gift for all, as fees for new subscribers to Insight's digital packages will be boosted around $2 to $3 per month. Ah well, at least you folks are getting something from your increase.

Our HD senses are tingling, but it's still too early to tell if Suddenlink is onto a regional rollout here. Late last month, the cable company dished out Animal Planet HD, TLC HD and Discovery HD to customers in Lubbock, Texas; now, those same three have arrived in Batesville, Arkansas on slots 758, 756 and 757, respectively. The newcomers are available on the HD Basic tier, which is provided gratis with an HD DVR rental, bringing the grand total in the area up to 23. Be sure and keep an eye on your Suddenlink EPG for this trio -- it could be making the rounds.

Worried about running out of material to watch as you weather the winter blues in Denver? Fret not, as Comcast has announced intentions to add in HDNet (slot 664) and SciFi HD (slot 688) on December 8th. Additionally, Versus / Golf HD will be split into two distinct HD channels (Vs HD on 689; Golf HD on 672), while MOJO HD will sadly drop from the lineup entirely. Two steps forward, one step back.[Thanks, Dr. No]

With FiOS HD hittin' hot and heavy in the Big Apple, TWC is making moves to ensure that it stays at least competitive with Verizon. The latest channel update for three of the five NYC boroughs includes updates for Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, with Northern Manhattan getting a special helping. There are far too many additions to cover in this space, so we'll point you to the full notice hosted just after the break. Sorry, south-siders, maybe next time. There's really no telling why Cox didn't just lump AMC HD into its last San Diego expansion effort, but regardless, we're sure customers in the city will take what they can get. Starting this week, AMC HD will be available in the sunny California town on slot 757, and Cox also proclaims that Comedy HD and 20 more HD video-on-demand stations are just around the bend. Oh, and one last thing -- Palladia HD has relocated from slot 730 to slot 732, so don't freak out or anything.[Thanks, Jason]

Remember those 11 high-def channels that Time Warner Cable owes North Texas? According to a report in the Dallas News, they'll be delivered by November 20th. In related news, the article also casually mentions that a full 17 to 19 even fresher HD channels will be unveiled "across the region" before the year's end. It's difficult to decipher whether that's to mean "the North Texas region" or "all of TWC's Texas markets," but if history is any indicator, we'd say the Dallas / San Antonio areas should be very well taken care of.[Thanks, Joe]

No word yet on whether this is a national / regional change, but Time Warner Cable has informed Raleigh, NC-based subscribers that it won't just let users lose an HD channel when MOJO HD vanishes on November 20th. Instead, it's slotting in MGM HD on the HD Tier (channel 291), which we feel is a pretty fair trade. And for those wondering, yes, this one is in addition to the 20 high-def newcomers announced for the area late last month.

Hot on the heels of RIM's BlackBerry Bold finally hitting AT&T sales channels comes word that Japan's NTT DoCoMo has also joined in to offer the handset. As the Asian carriers dump their cornucopia of fall 2008 mobiles onto the world, this particular one is serving up 22, all divided into the STYLE, PRIME, SMART and PRO series. Naturally, the latter category piques our interest the most, as it hosts the Bold, Nokia E71, HTC Touch Pro (HT-01A), HTC Touch Diamond (HT-02A) and Sharp's decidedly handsome SH-04A. Feel free to have a look at the entire family (and their respective launch dates) just below in the read link.

Time Warner Cable subscribers in Austin / Waco, Texas have long complained about getting the proverbial shaft on HD channels, and if you take a gander at lineups in the other major cities in the Lone Star state, it's easy to see the root of their frustrations. That being said, we can tell you that a lowly twosome is headed down the pike, with FOX News HD available right now and MGM HD coming on December 1st. Unfortunately, MGM is essentially replacing the soon-to-vanish MOJO HD, so you're left with a net gain of one. Sad, we know. [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Chad]

For Canada, EastLink's on a roll. Not even two months after the Halifax-based company added in a fresh dozen to its lineup, subscribers are now being treated to three more. Customers all across Atlantic Canada can now enjoy High Fidelity HDTV's suite of Oasis HD, Equator HD and Rush HD, though there's no mention if they're being provided gratis or in a pay tier. Sure, these may be for eye candy more than anything else, but since when is that a bad thing?

Just days after Comcast blessed Augusta, Georgia with SPEED HD, FX HD and FOX News HD, we saw another southern town (Charleston, SC) get the same trio with a few extras on the side. Today, we've learned that these three channels have also been added in Anne Arundel County, MD. We know how Comcast likes to add three at a time and all, so don't be surprised to see these very stations pop up in your Comcast EPG in the very near future.[Thanks, Ryan]

Additionally, Shoreline and Mill Creek, Washington decided to grant the carrier a cable franchise, and a new wave of interactive DVR features were launched in southeastern Pennsylvania / Delaware.
