It's official: not only is Wii Fanboy the web's leading resource for all things Wii, we're also the number one online source of Zelda bedding. This is the third Zelda quilt we've featured on the site, and it also happens to be the cheapest so far -- a mere $135 will buy you this queen-sized duvet, as stitched from 2" squares of real Octorok skin cotton. For an extra $30, you can even have matching pillowcases: just make sure you pack it all away when any would-be lovers arrive in your room after a particularly successful first date.If you fancy spending $165 on some of the most awesome bedding in the universe, contact Etsy user punzie and show her the color of your money. Explore past the break for a close-up of the quilt.Read: The Quilt of CourageRead: The Pillows of Wisdom

It's Monday, most of us haven't had enough sleep, and there's no coffee. There's not even any Red Bull. That means you're all doomed to an extremely silly morning question: have you ever held something over your head, à la la Link, to celebrate a moment of victory? Bonus if you added the music. You know you've done it. It's either that, or we're really big nerds.

Click for more on this awesome beam katana We had cosplaying on the brain recently, and we figured we'd divert from the usual gaming-oriented morning topic to ask if you're a fan of the practice or one that participates in it? Enjoy it? Have any pictures (unless you're this person, in which case we ask you keep them to yourself) you want to share? Tried it once and didn't care for it? Of the mind these people are loons? For those of you who noticed the PS2 buttons make their way into the video, know that this does come from the PS2 build of the game. You see, Vicarious Visions, the developers behind Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the PS2, wanted to include both Samus and Link into the game and apparently did without Nintendo's consent. There's a lot of confusion surrounding it and, supposedly, when Nintendo was shown the characters were included in the PS2 version of the game, told Activision to cut them out. The rest is just a bunch of confusing history.

  • Link has bully problems

Poor Link, he just can't catch a break. Even when he's just taking a nice stroll in the suburbs, he gets accosted. And this isn't just any old bully, either. This is the kind of a bully with no regard for proper hat use (see: the worst kind). Look at that floppy thing on his head. It's like some kind of disgusting hybrid made for all seasons, yet looks incredibly stupid. A man who has no idea how silly he looks in a ridiculous hat is the most dangerous man on Earth.[Thanks, Chris!]

Because let's face it: you won't be rescuing that Triforce as a pile of ash. In fact, now that we think some more about this, these wouldn't be much good in the Water Temple either, or anywhere that is remotely windy (thus ruling out the Isle of Gust).Heck, maybe these papercraft Links would just be safer making our desks look totally rad. Glad we agree.%Gallery-22769%[Via That Girl's Site]

Big thanks to Supafine's "Legend of Zelda: Visceration Station" webcomic for finally (and logically) explaining the heart system to us. The least we, as the Joystiq community, can apparently do is bestow you the honor of best game-related webcomic of the week.Second and third place went to XKCD and College Humor, respectively. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any gaming comics you stumble upon this week!

And, before you ask, yes, our room puts this kid's to shame. Our room has a frozen clone of Shigeru Miyamoto in it. Why? Well, we need to get witty headlines for Eric's posts somehow. He can't be bothered, he's too busy counting his theoretical millions in internet money.Back to the subject at hand, we dare you to say you have even half of the junk this guy does. If there's one thing he has that we don't, it's that Umbrella watch. Not like it matters, because the iron shackles that tie us to our Joystiq company Acer laptops would never allow us to escape out into the real world, where a computer desktop clock is nowhere to be seen.

Ah, IGN, you very nearly had us. Your trailer for a movie based on The Legend of Zelda almost -- almost -- pulled the wool over our young, naive eyes. In fact, this is probably the most impressive, sophisticated April Fools' prank we've witnessed for some time. What gave it away? Well, there's a sliiightly budget feel to some of this. Truth be told, we've seen more convincing Ganons at cosplay conventions, while some of the acting pretty much redefined "hammy."*Goofy as it is, this is still darn excellent, and certainly more impressive than anything we could ever hope to cook up. So, let's see a show of hands: how many of you would queue around the block for tickets to this?* Not that this prevented the Lord of the Rings trilogy from being taken seriously. Yes, yours truly is the only individual in the known universe not to enjoy that overwrought, nine-hour bore-fest.

Many of you had some strong opinion's regarding TheVintageDoctor's Mario corset, so we only found it fitting to tell you about her new Zelda-related fashion item. This corset is very similar to the last one, only featuring Link instead of the portly plumber. Unfortunately, the image used on the corset almost looks like it could be a Link "upskirt" pic, but we're still impressed by this outfit nonetheless. Also, as of writing this, it's still in stock. So, you can wear (or have your girlfriend wear) Link's backside for $99.98 -- expensive, but a fair price for all the work that probably went into this.%Gallery-18304%[Via GoNintendo]

Well, it is the Tuesday before Easter, and true to Mike's original predictions, the rumors are flying that today patch 2.4 will hit. The PTRs are down, and everything seems set. Of course, if this happens, we will not only be looking at awesomeness, we will be facing extended maintenance. To help you wait it out, we will not only be offering content all day long, but we have compiled a nifty list of content from the past week or so that you simply must read. Belfaire comments on the issue of player policing, and GM subjectivity. See where the issue was first raised. The 10 Commandments of roleplaying. Read and vote for your favorite WoW-themed comic. The dynamic between mages and warlocks, from the mage perspective, and from that of the warlock. Continuing through Amanda Dean's adventures after her account was hacked. Fancy a good story? Learn more about the Grimtotem Tribe. Hear what Drysc had to say regarding battlegrounds and class balance. Have you been keeping up on the tanking controversy? If not, check out Alex's original post, his subsequent reply to reader feedback, and then check out Allison's views regarding hybrid tanking. Even Rossi gets involved, and lets us know how the protection warrior fits in. More interested in some light fun? Go nominate your most hated race in all of Warcraft. Harpies FTL.

  • Today's most retro hack: Four-player Ocarina of Time

Take what many consider the greatest game of all time. Add multi-player support, which everyone knows makes any game better. What do you get. An even greaterest game of all time, of course, which is what this four-player Ocarina of Time hack could very well be.Okay, maybe we're overselling what is, at this point, just a video of an early, choppy test version the hack. But considering it comes from the same people that brought us the ability to play as Dark Link and fight an Arwing in Ocarina of Time, we have no doubt he'll be able to pull it off. Whether the final result turns out more like Four Swords Adventures or The Wand of Gamelon, though, is still anyone's guess.[Thanks Tanks]

  • Wii Fanboy takes Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wi-Fi for a test drive

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Wii_Fanboy_takes_Brawl_Wi_Fi_for_a_test_drive'; When I ripped open the FedEx package today in a whirling dervish of nails and teeth, I found what I had been expecting: a copy of Smash Bros. Brawl. Nintendo, the wonderful and kind souls they are, decided this crummy little blog was good enough to get a copy of the game along with the press. A single tear poured down my cheek, kind of like that recycling commercial. It was a magical moment.I then realized I had to work today and couldn't get my game on. As the day progressed and I tapped away at my keyboard, putting up news items and other stories that all 12 of you readers care about, the game sat there in front of my monitor, mocking me. It was almost like some kind of evil temptation, as I thought about just ducking away from my responsibilities to play. I then realized that it is my responsibility to play! I've got to review the damn thing, don't I?And when I heard that Joystiq's own Kyle Orland got a copy of the game too, I decided a few mutliplayer matches were in order. And in the interest of those who don't want anything spoiled for them, stop reading here. The rest of you can head past the break where the real action is.%Gallery-3347%

  • These girls are more Link than you'll ever be

Is it possible that, much like the role of Peter Pan in the theater, the role of elvish man-boy Link can only be truly portrayed by a lady? These two girls, caught capturing the Hyrulian savior's less verdant side, definitely make a convincing argument. We don't know if its their pixie-like features or their horrifically deformed ears, but these ladies appear to have nailed Link better than any dude we've ever seen. Also, the results are in, and they are cute. If you're interested, our friends at DS Fanboy have an unsettling number of other pictures for you to lecherously peruse at your leisure. var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Female_Duo_Sets_the_Standard_for_Link_Cosplay'; As far as Link cosplayers go, these two are easily the best we've come across. It's especially impressive when you consider that they're both wearing the Link's Four Swords outfits and not his traditional green garb. Why is it that women seem to find more success in mimicking the Hylian hero's image? Is it his boyish frame? His unwhiskered cheeks? His effeminate, pointy ears?Whatever it is, this pair captured it with a bug-catching net, stuck it in a bottle, and put it to work with these photos. Hit the gallery below for more action shots of the girls posing with boomerangs, miniature bows, and, uh, cell phones.%Gallery-17571%

  • How would you rank the weapons of Zelda?

    by
    David Hinkle
    David Hinkle
    03.03.2008

No, not the princess's actual weapons, but the weapons from the Zelda games. For us, the most badass thing that ever was made has to be the Titan's Mitt. That thing could help Link pick up the most heaviest of heavy items. We'll also entertain notions that the Hook Shot, Pegasus Shoes and Magic Cape are up high on the list. But, what about the items that aren't specific to any entry in the series, like the boomerang? Well, Lore from Wired attempts to rank these items, providing grade marks to all of Link's most-used weapons and otherwise general helper-outers. Is the man insane? Well, we'll leave that judgment up to you and get back to what we enjoy most: daydreaming that we have a Titan's Mitt of our own. You, on the other hand, can rank your top 5 favorite Zelda items in the comments. No daydreaming for you all, there's work to be done!

  • Nintendo-themed cases bring style to your DS

If you're still searching for the perfect case for your DS Lite, you might want to check out these handmade options by eBay's munkybaby05. Made with yarn, felt, and plastic canvas, these cases are adorably geeky, and according to the seller, will fit snugly on any DS Lite. There's two Metroid options, including the one pictured above and a Samus vs. metroid case. If you prefer the Legend of Zelda as your game of choice, though, she also has a case featuring Link and another with a sparkly Triforce. The cutest of all, though, are the Mario-themed cart cases, which are shaped like little boxes and can hold about nine or ten games. The game holders are available in red mushroom, green mushroom, or question block designs.Currently they're not too expensive for handmade items ($18 including shipping and handling for the DS Lite cases, $11 for the game cases), but of course, you never know with eBay.[Thanks, GenoBoost!]

Hey, our love may not be worth much, but it's got to be worth something. The above parody of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas includes Link and a lot of stuff gamers will recognize. Aside from including a cat screaming about this being bat country, we can't imagine this video being done any better than this. • The surreal Nintendo artwork of Jimi Benedict

    by
    Griffin McElroy

    02.09.2008

We love unique, video game inspired artwork just as much as the next guy -- our weary-spined copy of "i am 8-bit" can vouch for that. However, we also love our preserved, cherished memories of our NES era heroes. These two feelings conflict when looking at Jimi Benedict's surreal video game art -- our inner Andy Warhol loves Benedict's incredibly unique and lovingly detailed portraits, but the traditionalist in us prefers not to think of Link as a gap-toothed, Sloth-faced dwarf. You can see both full portraits after the jump, but to see the rest of Benedict's art (including what appears to be a mock-up title screen to the lesser known NES game Obama: Take the Power Back), you'll have to go to his website -- a swirling vortex of complete madness and totally rad drawings.[Via DSF]

  • Portable GameCube needs more work, shows promise

We hate to sound like your mother, Mr. I-Can-Mod-a-GameCube, but your fingernails (well, one nail, on your thumb) look pretty dirty. In fact, the unit itself looks like it could use a good cleaning as well. And, those vents look like they were made with a ballpoint pen in some Styrofoam. But, we don't want to be too harsh. Because, and we'll be perfectly honest, we wouldn't ever be able to get past the first stage of creating a portable gaming system: unplugging the console and hacking it apart. We'd probably just pop in Twin Snakes, sit down and forget about the mod altogether.
