What we're watching: The Emmys are in standard-def tonight, which would be bad enough but since it also bumps preseason Sunday Night Football it is especially irksome. ABC & Fox decide to combat TV awards by showing movies, with Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars Episode II both kicking off at 7. The season finales of Deadwood, Entourage and Lucky Louie are all on deck for tonight so it might make sense to skip that 480i awards show, watch shows in HD that will probably grab a statue or two, and check out the liveblogged recap on TV Squad later. What we're watching: Football is back on Fox, with Daunte Culpepper and the Miami Dolphins returning to Carolina, where he suffered a massive knee injury last year. We're sure he'd prefer a home game against the Panthers, and not just because of the huge HDTV at Dolphin Stadium. My Name is Earl plus The Office reruns fill in on NBC while Starz-HD is showing an interesting pairing of The Fog and Sky High. Our traditional high definition listings continue below

Terminal Reality (Bloodrayne II and Aeon Flux), Coresoft (Bass Pro Fishing and Deer Hunter), and Papaya Studio (Top Gear and Whirl Tour) are all listing job openings for programmers. According to these job listings, the studios are looking for programmers to take part in projects involving current and next-gen systems, including the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, etc. Now, none of these three studios have committed to information on any current projects (although it should be noted that Terminal Reality implied they are working on some next-gen project, which would make sense since Demonik fell through), but are looking to get involved with the system and that's enough for us.
