The first 'Luigi's Mansion 3' multiplayer DLC pack is now available
Late last year, Nintendo announced that it's releasing two DLCs for Luigi's Mansion 3, which will add multiplayer features to the action-adventure game. It promised to release the first of the two by April 30th, 2020, but it looks like you don't have to wait that long to start enjoying what it can offer. The first Luigi's Mansion 3 multiplayer pack is now available for download -- you can purchase it along with the second pack that's coming out by July 31st from Nintendo for $10.
'Luigi's Mansion 3' is Mario's brother at his best
It's been six years since Mario's brother strapped on a modified vacuum cleaner and battled colorful ghosts in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (known as just Luigi's Mansion 2 in Europe, Australia and Japan). The 3DS adventure was a brilliant but sad reminder that the game deserved another home console outing similar to the original Gamecube release. Well, it's finally happened. Luigi's Mansion 3 is a joyous and expertly-polished Switch release that further establishes the plumber as an equal to his shorter and historically more famous brother.
Watch the latest Nintendo Direct here at 6PM ET
It seems Nintendo will have plenty to showcase in its latest Nintendo Direct stream. It's set to run for about 40 minutes, around the same length as the previous Direct from E3, with a focus on its Switch slate for the rest of the year.
'Luigi's Mansion 3' is coming out on Halloween
You'll be able to help Luigi and his new pal Gooigi tackle hordes of ghosts at the spookiest time of year, because Nintendo has confirmed Luigi's Mansion 3 will arrive on Switch October 31st. In the first incarnation of the series on the hybrid console, Luigi and his gooey doppelgänger Gooigi will battle through the haunted Last Resort hotel. You can switch between the two, or you can rope in a friend to play as Gooigi. There's also a multiplayer mode called ScareScraper in which up to eight people can play together online and locally.
'Luigi's Mansion 3' stars a jelly doppelganger named Gooigi
Luigi's Mansion 3 hits Nintendo Switch in 2019, six years after the launch of the previous installment, Dark Moon. Luigi's Mansion 3 stars Luigi, rather than Mario, as he sneaks around a haunted hotel fighting ghosts and searching for his friends. Nintendo revealed a few extra details about the game during its E3 livestream, but didn't narrow down the release window any further.
