Last month we were introduced to Hurk, the newest hero to join Korea's Mabinogi Heroes lineup. And now we can get to know him a little bit better: Steparu.com reports that Hurk has landed on the test server and offers various videos to show the character and his skills off. While there's no word yet on Hurk for the North American version (known as Vindictus), it's a pretty good bet that he'll join the team here, too. Get a glimpse of Hurk's gameplay in the video after the break, and visit Steparu.com for more videos on character customization and testing counter timing.

Nexon has released a teaser trailer for Mabinogi Heroes' newest character, Hurk the Berserker. Mabinogi Heroes is the Korean (and original) version of North America's Vindictus, so this may mean Hurk will be landing on western shores in the not-too-distant future. The short video shows Hurk wielding a giant greatsword against an equally giant boss, and is labeled as the first teaser of hopefully several more. You can check out the full video after the jump.

Mabinogi 2 Arena, Nexon's recently revealed companion to Mabinogi and Vindictus (AKA Mabinogi Heroes in the east), takes a good fight and makes it the centerpiece of the game. Slated to launch later this year, the action MMO allows players to fight in arena combat as well as spectate others' matches. While a previous video showed off some character models and environments for the upcoming game, Nexon's latest official trailer gives folks a taste of the actual combat moves players can expect. The video shows off both 1v1 and one vs. many scenarios; various kicks, throws, slaps, and slices are exchanged between characters as well as inflicted upon nondescript practice dummies. Footage also demonstrates battle atop dinosaur-like and mechanical mounts, with the pet/mount dealing its own damage. Check out the action after the break.

  • Pew pew more: A sneak peek at Vindictus' newest archer

The website Steparu.com has a hands-on preview with the latest character coming to Mabinogi Heroes -- also known as Vindictus to NA and EU players. His name is Kai, and he's a flashy archer with more than a few surprises up his pretty sleeves. As an archer, Kai's tactics largely revolve around kiting and long-ranged assaults, so keeping one's distance is essential in most fights. Kai can transform his bow into a long or short variant, with the long doing more powerful (but slower) attacks and the short one pew-pewing much quicker at closer range. He can also unleash an attack that hits multiple targets at once, making him ideal for some burst AoE damage. One of Kai's more unique skills is the ability to place a marker on the battlefield and then quickly grapple his way back to it on a moment's notice. While he's traveling back to his marker, he's immune to all damage, making this a strategic move for pitched fights. Kai is coming to Mabinogi Heroes in Korea tomorrow, although it will be some time before he lands in the States or Europe. [Thanks to Justatip for the tip!]

Better late than never, right? That's what Nexon Europe is hoping its fans are saying about the late arrival of Vindictus. The free-to-play title launched in Korea in January 2010, then it took a bow in North America in October 2010, but the game is just now getting around to its European closed beta phase. The beta begins on September 15th, and testers will need a key to participate. Registration happens on the game's official website, and there's more info on the Vindictus Europe Facebook page as well. Nexon has also released a new trailer to mark the occasion -- view it after the break. [Source: Nexon Europe press release]

How do you get into the Vindictus beta? Well according to the goddess Morrigan, thou must punish thy enemies into tiny little bloody pieces about the size of dimes. Once you do that enough times and completely decimate your foes then, and only then, will you be granted access to this exclusive beta. We here at Massively, however, have an easier way: a beta key! Thanks to the folks at Nexon, we've scored 2,000 beta keys for the upcoming open beta test of Vindictus, which starts on September 15th! If that wasn't cool enough, then I have more news for you: you won't have to grab keys for your friends! Everyone who grabs a key for the Vindictus beta will be rewarded with two more beta keys that you can give to your friends! Once your friends redeem their keys, then they'll get two more keys to giveaway, and so forth! So, interested in grabbing yourself a key? Continue reading this post for all of the blood-soaked information!

Do you want to be a true, hardened warrior like Beau Hindman? I mean, look at that man. Look at the battle lust in his eyes. Look at his tense, unruly face and tell me that he's not a man made of solid stone. Tell me that he doesn't look like a man who could hold back the Fomor invasion almost single-handedly and lead his people to the feet of Morrigan herself. Ladies, Mr. Beau Hindman is obviously the man your man could spill blood like. Of course, you wish you could be as war-hardened as this. You want to be the man your man could spill blood like. Unfortunately, however, we can't make you into that man. But what we can do is give you one of Nexon's Vindictus wolf hoods so you can think you're that man. Interested in entering? Follow after the break for your chance to win one of these hoods!
