Mousepads, who needs them? That's the question that's been keeping Tom's Guide up at night lately, so they've done the only responsible thing a tech site can do and rolled up a mega roundup review of some of the more popular ones. Unsurprisingly, you'll find plenty from Razer's gaming collection, including the dual-sided Vespula and the Engadget-approved Megasoma, which are faced off against entries from Saitek, SteelSeries and lock specialist Kensington. The one that will have inevitably caught your eye, though, is that steel saw impersonator known as the Greensforged Remember Ravensholm pad. Built especially for a Half-Life 2 fan, it's made entirely from steel, but we're told its usefulness is apparently not quite on par with its good looks. Anyhow, dive into the source link for the complete roundup. [Thanks, Ben]

We've got not one but two different screeshot contests that have shown up on the tip line lately. First off, our friend Mep, who runs WoW Screenshots, has gotten his contest all up and running, and you can go over and upload a screenshot or vote for the winners over there right now. His contest runs through September 20th, and the prize is a mousepad with your winning screenshot printed right on it. Pretty groovy custom prize -- we can't wait to see what kinds of screenshots rise to the top.And Chris also emailed us about a new site he's started up called Epic Screens. It's another screenshot database (a little competition is a good thing, right?), and he's hosting his own best screenshot contest, with two copies of vanilla WoW on the line (perfect, he says, for Recruit-a-friend). He doesn't have a final date (or any other official rules posted), so we're guessing you just head on over there and submit some shots, and if you win, he'll let you know. Sounds like fun -- let the screenshot competitions begin!

  • The Daily Grind: Your favorite MMO art?

As MMO fiends, many of us tend to gather game art up as we move from title to title. For some of us, it can be as simple as a folder full of screenshots of particular MMO moments that spoke to us - the first time we saw certain places and admired a designer's vision. Others may have MMO art as a matter of history - we just happened to be around and playing when this game or that started up, and we got a special item they mailed out. Still others of us devotedly pick up Collector's Editions for the bonus included soundtracks or art books. Beyond that, there are posters, fan art and even tattoos based on MMOs. This morning we thought we'd ask what some of your favorite bits of MMO art are? Did you particularly enjoy certain art books? Do you have a big collection of maps from worlds you've traveled in? Perhaps you love an MMO so much that you went and got some ink, or created your own art based on the imagery? What are some of your favorite bits of MMO art?
