  • Blizzard talks Shadows of the Horde, other projects at NYCC

Blizzard took the opportunity at the New York Comic-Con this week to announce a slew of projects including the eagerly anticipated novel Shadows of the Horde by Michael A. Stackpole, featuring Vol'jin, chief of the Darkspear trolls and unofficial Horde 'loyal opposition' to Warchief Garrosh Hellscream. Now we have details on the various projects from the official site, and they're pretty tantalizing. In addition to learning more about Shadows of the Horde (bad stuff happens to Vol'jin, I can say that much without spoilers) we also learned more about other upcoming books and eBooks, such as the World of Warcraft Tribute: Art Book, produced by UDON, the collected Diablo III: Heroes Rise, Darkness Falls eBook that gathers all the class short stories from the Diablo III website (the Barbarian one was really good), and Richard Knaak's upcoming Dawn of the Aspects eBook dealing with the history of the Dragonflights and their fate in the post-Cataclysm world. Definitely go check it out. Mists of Pandaria is here! The level cap has been raised to 90, many players have returned to Azeroth, and pet battles are taking the world by storm. Keep an eye out for all of the latest news, and check out our comprehensive guide to Mists of Pandaria for everything you'll ever need to know.

  • Domino will appear in High Moon's upcoming Deadpool game

X-Force regular, occasional X-Man, and full-time female mercenary Domino will make an appearance in Deadpool, according to the Merc with a Mouth himself. Just as he did in San Diego earlier this year, Deadpool showed up during a Marvel games panel at the New York Comic-Con last week and, after confronting his dancing alter-ego, said that the Rob Liefeld-created Domino, a.k.a. Neena Thurman, would be showing up in the upcoming game from High Moon Studios.Unfortunately, that's all he decided to share during his very raucous appearance. High Moon is reportedly hard at work on the game, and Deadpool promised it's still set for a release sometime next year.

  • DmC demo incoming, Mundus returns as the Demon King

Capcom is planning an online demo of DmC: Devil May Cry prior to the game's launch, giving fans and on-the-fence aesthetic nuts a chance to try out Dante's new look for themselves. Capcom has no firm date for the demo yet, but it is coming to consoles at least, producer Alex Jones tells a panel at New York Comic Con. There is no word on a PC demo.Mundus, the main baddie from the first Devil May Cry, returns as ruler of the underworld in DmC. The Demon King joins another past character, Vergil: We previously asked if Vergil would be a playable character as he was in Devil May Cry 3, and got stonewalled. Jones provides a little more insight, saying Vergil as a playable character "will not be on the disc" and Capcom has no firm plans either way.Players will learn more about Dante's (and, by proxy, Vergil's) parents in DmC, Ninja Theory's Dominic Matthews tells the panel. DmC will have "a few novelty modes" made available after beating the game, Jones says. The PC version of DmC will run 60 FPS with enhancements, and Xbox 360 and PS3 is 30 FPS.

  • NYCC 2012: New Marvel Heroes characters and trailer debut

What better place to learn more about a game based on comic books than a comic book convention? Marvel Heroes had its own panel earlier today at the New York Comic Con, where devs not only shared a new trailer but announced three new playable heroes. And luckily for folks who missed the chance to see the panel live, Gazillion Entertainment has been sharing the announcements via Twitter! Along with such iconic heroes as The Hulk, Wolverine, and the Human Torch, players will also have the choice to play as Phoenix (Jean Grey), Luke Cage, and NOVA. Although fairly brief, the new features trailer shows off different abilities, a variety of costumes, a quick peek at some multiplayer zones, and a glimpse of a few iconic villains. Check it all out after the break.

  • Blizzard headed to New York Comic Con

If you're headed to New York Comic Con this week, keep your eyes peeled for Blizzard. Blizzard Entertainment will have both panels and signings at NYCC this year, including a publishing panel with Blizzard Publishing Lead Micky Neilson, Lead Quest Designer Dave Kosak, and author Michael Stackpole. During the panel, they'll be revealing the next World of Warcraft novel, which should be the Vol'jin story mentioned during the AMA on Reddit last month. Judging from his presence at the panel, it's likely this is the story Stackpole will be writing. You can catch the panel Saturday, October 13 from 2:45-3:45pm in Room 1A14 at the Javits Center in New York. There will also be a panel from UDON on Friday, October 12 from 7:45-8:45pm in Room 1A06. The UDON panel will be giving a scoop on a future collaboration between Blizzard and UDON, a Blizzard-themed tribute art book and contest. And if you're looking to get your copy of Pearl of Pandaria signed by the author and artist, you can find Micky Neilson and Sean "Cheeks" Galloway at the IDC Booth, #1238, on Friday from 12-1pm. Blizzard will also have a presence at a ton of booths around the convention center, everything from Mega Bloks to comics and publishing. For the full list of scheduled events and booths, head the official website.
